She is. Poor girl she is young and just moved out on her own with her baby.
So proud of her.

Poor thing. What a way to get a start out in the world on your own. Although I'm sure she learned a lesson about domestic violence that she'll probably take forward with her to help avoid it in her own life.

Tell her we're proud of her too. :)

Really????? Because he is so busy in Texas?

Lol...well I'm not sure about that but apparently Texas is too busy to deal with his sorry a$$ right now as it was the government that postponed it. Maybe hurricane Harvey put the courts behind or something.

What?! Okay I have to look into this later. I'm already following two other trials!

Okay I get it now. He wants bail in San Antonio and his lawyer says he's not a flight risk?!

Sometimes lawyers are funny. :floorlaugh:

In the bail application, Hasan’s lawyer argues that Hasan is not a flight risk because he had lived in San Antonio from early May up until the time of his arrest.

The application claims bail can be justified because the evidence presented against Hasan doesn’t prove “probable cause” for him being responsible for Vasilije’s death.

The U.S. government opposes granting Hasan bail. Hasan’s extradition hearing is scheduled to start Tuesday.

He lived in San Antonio a whole two months! He put down roots! He loves it there and has no intention of leaving!

Still funny. :floorlaugh:

Glad to see that argument fell flat. So his extradition starts tomorrow? Everything always happens all at once around here. :scared:

Texas judge mulls extradition of accused killer Ager Hasan

A Texas judge is currently considering the extradition request by Canadian officials for a Hamilton man accused of stabbing his Kitchener ex-girlfriend to death.

[...]

Chestney did not issue a ruling on the extradition case when Hasan appeared before her on Tuesday afternoon, but took the matter under advisement.

Hasan will remain in federal custody until Chestney issues a ruling, for which there is no timeline.

OMG....the details in that article!!

Chestney’s ruling allowing Hasan to be extradited contains a number of details about the case against Hasan that had never before been made public.

According to her ruling, investigators believe Vasilije was stabbed more than 30 times. A steak knife was found on the floor next to her head, and another one on the kitchen counter

Chestney also mentions the existence of surveillance video which allegedly shows Hasan and Vasilije parting ways outside her apartment and Vasilije returning inside, only for Hasan to slowly follow her back, then run out of the apartment 15 minutes later.

A self defence argument in the kitchen Ager?! I think not!! How is he only up for second degree murder?! I assume he put the knife near her head to make it look like she was holding it?

Accused killer Ager Hasan 'a danger to the community,' says Texas judge

A Texas judge says the man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in her Kitchener apartment in April "is both a danger to the community and a serious flight risk."

CCTV footage shows the two walking down to his car about an hour and a half after he went into the apartment.

"After a brief verbal exchange, Vasilije backed away from Hasan into the middle of the road. Hasan followed her, but they hugged and parted ways," the court documents say.

At 1:45 a.m. Vasilije can be seen on the video footage returning to her apartment alone.

"Rather than getting into his car, however, Hasan is observed slowly following Vasilije back to her apartment," the documents said. "At 2:01 a.m., Hasan is captured on the same CCTV camera running to his car and leaving the area."

When Waterloo police arrived at Vasilije's apartment they found her with stab wounds to her throat and chest. A post mortem determined she had been stabbed "in excess of 30 times," the court documents said.

Two steak knives were found – one on the floor next to Vasilije's head, the other was on the kitchen counter. One was bent at a 45 degree angle and both were covered in blood.

At 3:39 a.m., Vasilije's phone received a text from Hasan: "Nice seeing you tonight glad we worked things out! You better have deleted that f---ing Dorche (sic) bag lol. Anyways see you soon."

"This text message, when viewed against all of the other evidence, suggests Hasan was merely attempting to cover up his guilt," Chestney wrote.

Chestney denied Hasan's request for bail, in which his lawyers argued there was no evidence he was involved in Vasilije's death.

"The court also respectfully disagrees with Hasan that there is a lack of probable cause to support his murder charge," Chestney wrote. "There is probable cause to believe Hasan committed first degree murder."

Even the Texas judge thinks he should be charged with 1st degree. I wonder if it will be upgraded when he comes back?

Too bad he can't just be charged and jailed in Texas. [emoji16]
I will be following closely. I need to find out when he is back and has court in Kitchener. I want to attend.

He'd be facing the death penalty for first degree down there. I agree, keep him and try him down there. Those Texans don't mess around with this murder thing.

What do you make of him sending her a text like he left her alive and then fleeing across the border? Then posting his "explanation" on Reddit and emailing LE for a deal. Not a very bright murderer is he?

Now to check the court docket. I don't know if he will be on it as its updated at 430pm the day before. So for Monday it would have been Posted Friday. Not sure if it will show.
But I'm off on Monday and Tuesday and live 2 minutes from the courthouse. I shall investigate. If anyone has a way to tell when he will be seen please share!

Eta. Not showing on Mondays court docket. But if in jail he will need to be seen by a judge....

Eta. I should read my links. Will be in court Monday. So shall I. [emoji16]
