Convertible sought in hit-run that injured woman: Toronto cops | Toronto Sun
''Toronto Police have released photos of a Mercedes convertible believed to be involved in a hit and run early Thursday that seriously injured a 30-year-old woman in the city’s downtown core.''

''Investigators are asking the public to be on the outlook for the light-coloured car with damage to its front end.

The victim was crossing Spadina Ave. south of King St. W. around 3:15 a.m. when a vehicle driving southbound at a high rate of speed struck her.

The driver of the car quickly fled the scene, cops say. At time of the collision, the roof of the Mercedes was down.''

''The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area or have security or dashcam footage to contact them at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477.''

''Police have not yet identified the victim.
The vehicle, police said, briefly stopped after the incident and then fled the scene.
"(The vehicle went) southbound and, from what we understand, at a high rate of speed. So they were fleeing the area. They knew exactly what happened and they were fleeing," Sgt. Murray Campbell told reporters at the scene.''

''No suspect information about the driver has been released.
Police, however, describe the involved vehicle as a light-coloured Mercedes convertible with front-end damage. They added that the roof was folded down at the time of the crash, so the damage will be noticeable.

"As you can see, there are some vehicle parts that are left at the scene here
. As part of our investigation, we'll be following up with the vehicle parts to try and identify them," Campbell said.''

''Police have released an image of a suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run in downtown Toronto that left a woman critically injured earlier this week.

The incident took place around 3:15 a.m. on April 14 near Spadina Avenue and King Street West.

According to investigators, a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed struck a 30-year-old pedestrian, briefly stopped, and then fled the scene''

''On Saturday, police released a new image of the vehicle, saying it was likely "a white, 2019, or newer, Mercedes AMG GT convertible with a red interior and convertible top."

In the image, the roof of the vehicle is down and a driver is visible. Police have released a stark description, saying only that the man has dark-coloured hair.

"Officers would also encourage the man to contact a lawyer and to come forward to police," investigators said the release.''

Toronto police arrest driver, 3 other men in fatal downtown hit-and-run | CP24.com
''On Monday, police said they located the suspect vehicle in the city's west end with the public's help.

"The finding of that car has led officers to more information which implicates people. That investigation progressed rapidly," said Toronto police spokesperson Const. David Hopkinson.

The following day, police arrested three men – 41-year-old Sinesha Bogojevic, 44-year-old Milorad Nikolic and 37-year-old Zachariasz Billik. All three were each charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death, public mischief and obstructing police.

Later that day, police said the alleged driver of the vehicle, identified as 42-year-old Ertug Direk, surrendered to investigators.

Direk was charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death, public mischief and obstructing police.

All four men appeared in court on Wednesday morning.

When asked whether the three men were with Direk in the vehicle at the time of the collision, Hopkinson said he believes they were not present during the incident, and the charges laid against them may be in relation to assisting the driver in evading police.

"We know that the public is very concerned with this case, with this hit-and-run, with this senseless death. So we want to get this information out as quickly as possible," Hopkinson said.

Police said the investigation continues, and there may be additional arrests in connection to the incident.

"There are believed to be several other parties who assisted the alleged driver, Ertug Direk, after the collision," police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).''

''Roseanne Yoxall travelled more than 5,000 kilometres from her home in Edinburgh, Scotland, to learn the fate of the man convicted of killing her 29-year-old daughter in a shocking Downtown Toronto hit and run.
On Wednesday, she learned the man — who has a “terrible” criminal record dating back to the 1990s — now faces a sentence of four-and-a-half years in jail, and will be banned from driving for 12 years.

Today would have been Erin Yoxall’s 32nd birthday.
Yoxall was crossing Spadina Avenue, south of King Street, just after 3 a.m. on April 14, 2022, when she was hit by Ertug Direk, speeding in a luxury Mercedes convertible.''
and the beast, imo.
