The RCMP is requesting the public's help in locating missing person Michael Kitchener, 21,who was last seen running on highway 16 on October 22nd, 2021.

Michael was last seen running near the SPCA turn off of Highway 16 at 6:30 p.m on Friday October 22nd, 2021 with the following description:

• grey sweatpants
• shirtless
• black shoes

The RCMP is looking for anyone with dash cam footage of Highway 16 from McDonalds, Koiya Bay and Port Edward from October 21st 2021, and October 22nd, 2021 between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The RCMP is requesting any dash cam, ring cam, or security footage from residents of Borden Street from the dates.

Human remains found on Mt. Hays in Prince Rupert identified as Michael Kitchener. Prince Rupert RCMP announced on June 16 that remains of missing 21-year-old Michael Kitchener have been found. Kitchener was last seen Oct. 23, 2021 running along Highway 16.​

...Kitchener was initially reported missing in October of 2021, when he was 21 years old, after heading out for an evening jog along Highway 16.

His discovery comes with much of the community already grieving after police discovered four deceased bodies in a home on Tuesday.
