Unknown intruder enters Toronto-area home, kills mother of three: police
May 28 2018
"Police say a mother of three who died of her injuries inside her Toronto home over the weekend was killed by an unknown intruder who entered through a side window.

Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Friday night and 2:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, someone entered a home in East York via the side window and “caused the death” of 41-year-old Rhoderie Estrada, Det. Sgt. Mike Carbone with the Toronto Police Service’s homicide unit told reporters."

"Estrada worked as a nurse at Toronto's St. Joseph's Health Centre.

“(She) was a well-respected clinician and leader to her colleagues, as well as a friend,” the hospital said in a statement. “She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her at St. Joe's.”

WARMINGTON: Murder rocks tranquil East York neighbourhood
"Who murdered Rhoderie Estrada?

It’s a strange who dunnit homicide case that has a lot of people nervous.

The people who live on Torrens Ave. are already upset at the loss of a beloved wife and mother on their normally quiet street. But if we are honest many are also terrified."

"Estrada, a 41-year-old mother of three young children and a wife to husband Gerald Aquintey, was the co-owner of the popular Filipino restaurant, Tinuno, on Howard St., near the Sherbourne subway station"

"But it was the fifth paragraph of the Toronto Police’s news release that put area residents on edge.

“At this time, investigators believe that sometime between Friday, May 25, 2018, at 10:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 2:15 a.m., an unknown person entered the house via a side window and subsequently caused the death of Ms. Estrada.”

Side window? Unknown person?"

The husband co-owns this restaurant.

From the link.

Some families bond over sports, some over movies. But one thing that is known to bring people together is food. Whether homemade or takeout, dining has a way to fill our stomach with grub, our hands with new foods and our memories with new experiences.

That’s where Tinuno restaurant hopes to thrive.

Hailing from the northwestern Luzon region in the Philippines, Gerald Aquintey, co-owner of the restauran
t, says the name Tinuno came from its direct translation from his native language of Ilocano, meaning grilled.

Most Filipino restaurants are usually takeaway, while Tinuno encourages customers to dine in because of their unique eating style called Boodle Fight.

Boodle Fight involves using your bare hands to eat food spread out on banana leaves.

The owner wasn't working huh?

Thats how I originally took it, but I'm not sure? The crime happened on Friday night/Saturday Morning. The article states the restaurant was open over the weekend, which may mean Saturday/Sunday, and no doubt he wouldn't be working on those days. So the question is, was he working Friday night, which technically is part of the weekend.

I want to be wrong but this is not looking good for the husband if he was not at work....
Whether he was involved or not, he will be investigated thoroughly. That said, people don't randomly break in to houses and kill people, not without a sexual assault or robbery anyway. A hardworking, respected nurse wouldn't fit the description of someone who is likely to be targeted either. So we'll see, if he was involved he'll crack in a couple of days.

Targeting could have happened. She was a nurse and was exposed to many ppl in a hospital who might have become infatuated with her. It has happened before to other women. JMO

Det.-Sgt. Mike Carbone was hard at work on this Monday and keeping his cards close to his chest. He had earlier told my colleague Bryan Passifiume that police found the victim in “a bedroom in the home” where she was “suffering from obvious signs of trauma.”

With photographer Ernest Doroszuk I looked around the area Monday and could see that while some upper-floor windows appeared to open, it is believed to be been one in the basement that police are focusing their investigation around.

WARMINGTON: Who entered home and killed mom of three?

Very attractive couple

An above post said the restaurant is open from 9 to 9
Even with closing, husband would be home before 2:15, unless he has plans away from his home and business.

LE says something happened between 10:30 and 2:15
Did someone see her around 10:30? Did someone talk to her around 10:30?
