Is it just me, or does it seem there is a HUGE GAP between the roomie leaving the party saying Ryan was putting his coat on right behind him and then realizing he never went to work???

It could just be me...

I totally agree. Why didn't the roommates start looking for Ryan in the early morning hours since they thought he was right behind them. Who else was at this party besides Ryan's roommates. I might have missed it but did Ryan have his cell phone with him that night and if so any pinging information been retrieved.

Ryan’s mom and the community of Sun Peaks are EXTREMELY protective of releasing any names that attend the party that evening. I remember Heather commenting that some of the party goers have already been non stop harassed. Heather has stated multiple times that LE and her don’t believe Ryan left the mountain.

I’ve done alittle partying back in my younger days ( makes me sound older than I am). But theirs one thing my girlfriends and I did, always left together. Why couldn’t Ryan’s roommate hang around for a minute until he put his shoes on. As my older brother has always said to me theirs a “bro code” lol. Whatever that means.

IMOO, once that snow really starts cooperating and melting a bit...sadly his body will show up.

My 18 year old son and 23 year old daughter suffer me calling them my baby boy and baby girl all of the time. It's hardly unusual or creepy.

My oldest is only 9 but I constantly him my baby. I told him to get used to it cause he will always be my baby. I get a slight smile..for now. But in no way is this creepy

OT: Born and raised in US, but I can understand how somebody from another culture might think this. Last time I checked, youth / youthfulness are essentially worshiped in the US, but it doesn't seem odd from inside our culture. Term of affection and / or adoration. Not judging, just sayin...



I certainly hope that Ryan is found soon. When does all the snow melt completely in that area? April? May? This gives me hope. My heart goes out to his family. [emoji171]

Shtuka family seeking volunteers over Easter long weekend
March 29, 2018

This weekend will mark six weeks since Ryan Shtuka disappeared at Sun Peaks resort.Twenty year old Shtuka vanished in the early morning hours of February 17 after leaving a house party on Burfield Drive.

Heading into the long weekend the Shtuka family is appealing for more volunteers.

New search location ‘real possibility’

UPDATE April 6 9:20 a.m.: Kamloops RCMP have confirmed one dog and handler will return to the area to search.

After six weeks of searching the family of Sun Peaks resident and missing person Ryan Shtuka has changed their area of focus in the community.

It has been believed Ryan was last seen leaving a house party on Burfield Dr. at 2:10 a.m. on Feb. 17, but information first reported in the days following his disappearance has recently been revisited by the family, prompting them to think he may be have been spotted later that morning.

A text message from a party goer shown to the family may indicate Ryan left the party around 1:40 a.m. At 1:55 a.m. there was a reported sighting of someone generally matching his height, weight and clothing walking towards the village on Fairways Dr. at Eagle Court.

A bus will be departing from Edmonton the morning of April 20th and will be making a stop in Red Deer at approximately 9:00 a.m. and Calgary at approximately 11:00 a.m.

Organizers are looking to get at least 15 volunteers from this area. If they can’t, they may have to cancel that leg of the journey.

Volunteers will be placed in Sun Peaks, and the preference is for teams of two or four.

If you are departing from Red Deer or Calgary, they can’t provide you with a weekend parking spot. – If you have your own snowshoes or avalanche probes. (If you don’t, they will be provided)

Every time I open this thread and read this comment, the behaviour just says, and I hate this word, hinky.

It doesn't even have to mean that someone at the party deliberately harmed Ryan. It could mean he had an overdose and people are afraid to say anything, it could mean he had an accident while drunk and no one wants to admit they were drinking that much, it could mean someone who wasn't supposed to be at the party was there and did something to him. No matter how well meaning they are, you get young people together partying and anything can happen.
