Sadly, there are still snow banks melting and just yesterday on the FB page a poster was asking about the snow that gets removed and dumped elsewhere when they plow the roads. Ryan’s mother responded with a description of the large mounds of dirty, rocky snow removed from road-clearing. These are not melted yet and even though they tried to speed up the thaw with a water jets, I think it will be a few weeks before that possibility can be eliminated. If Ryan is lying in a mound of cleared snow , he would not be the first Canadian to meet this fate. And if at the final thaw, there is still no sign of him, well, I think the police really do have to take seriously the possibility that something more sinister has happened.

A 20-year-old woman from Kamloops, who lives at the home and was previously known to police, was arrested and released with a future court date. RCMP are recommending charges of possession of a prohibited weapon.

I just came across this case as well. It is absolutely heartbreaking.
I have two sons, and if one of them went missing I would be out of my mind.

The closest I can come to understanding the feeling that Ryan's mother must feel (and it's a WAY long off!) is when I came home from work one day and my hubby told me our 14 yo son had "left". I asked him what he meant. He told me they had an argument about chores and our son put all of the things that we gave him (computer, etc.) out in the hall and then said he was leaving. He walked out the door.
We drove around the streets looking for him. My husband was devastated. We knew he didn't have many places to go, which, in it's own way was terrifying.

Our son ultimately simply showed up at home when he needed a safe place to sleep. Pheww!

And if that's all we had to deal with, I simply CANNOT imagine what Ryan's parents are going through.
Dammit. I want to take them in my arms and comfort them.

The ski resort where Ryan lived and the house party Ryan was at when he went missing are about 35 miles away from the Kamloops home invasion place where the woman was arrested in January. That shuttle from Kamloops to the resort looks like it only ran on the weekends. I had not seen anything that Ryan worked the shuttle; I got the impression he was working at the resort itself, but saw no real info on what job he had there. [Update: a web search showed he went to work there as a lift operator, so likely did not get to Kamloops much at all.]

OT: Born and raised in US, but I can understand how somebody from another culture might think this. Last time I checked, youth / youthfulness are essentially worshiped in the US, but it doesn't seem odd from inside our culture. Term of affection and / or adoration. Not judging, just sayin...



I certainly hope that Ryan is found soon. When does all the snow melt completely in that area? April? May? This gives me hope. My heart goes out to his family. [emoji171]

Mom made a good point it is starting to melt but it is starting near the roads which they know he is not
the places they need to see are the areas that will take a really long time to thaw

I suppose however, if deceased causation might be more likely to be determined because of the temp

I'm not sure if there is anything to a drugs or gang angle in Ryan's case. I haven't ever picked up a vibe of this online from any source -LE, media, friends, family. With Ryan's case and the also unsolved disappearance of 10-year-old Ariel Kouakou in Montreal, it seems that the general feel is that the Canadian winter cold has taken a victim and sometimes the only game is a long game. A long waiting game.
I really do hope the summer will bring peace and end to the waiting game.

First search came back with a pic and a gang sign/ I worked with incarcerated juvenile delinquents and have experience with the gang dynamic.

That individual was throwing signs.

There is often intense affiliations within these entities. Signing for a picture is a statement generally/

That is what got me wondering. From what I have learned simply put IMO it sounds like other party goers have not been especially helpful.

That population generally speaking , if that in fact is a component of this - speculation_ are generally pretty leary of LE which appears to be the case in this instance

Has any friend from the house that night come forward with concern for situation>

Hi, sorry, I'm late learning about Ryan. I'm wondering after he left his friends house on Burfield Drive, its initially reported that he headed to his residence. Does anyone know in what direction this was or where his residence was.
I realize they later report someone seeing Ryan and theres a possibility he may have headed to a restaurant and changed the direction of the search. Does anyone know where he was last seen?

KAMLOOPS – Details surrounding the situation are scarce, but several employees have been fired following a bizarre incident involving drugs and staff at Sun Peaks Resort.

Aidan Kelly with Sun Peaks says in a statement that RCMP were "called to staff accommodation to investigate reports of illegal substances being present" and some staff members were terminated as a result.

Efforts by Mounties to inform Sun Peaks' young workforce about the dangers of fentanyl appear to be paying dividends, according to the officer in charge of policing the mountain resort town.



At a September Canada West Ski Areas Association (CWSAA) meeting at Sun Peaks, fentanyl was an important topic to the attendees from around B.C. and the Yukon. Fentanyl has been detected in 81 per cent of illicit drug deaths in B.C. this year.

They will address Sun Peaks Resort LLP’s (SPR) new staff at an upcoming orientation. She said her training is important both to get the overdose-reversing drug Naloxone into the community and to create conversations.

“A ski mountain or resort is a party zone,” said Haug. “It’s (Sun Peaks is) family oriented in many regards but Friday and Saturday nights in peak season it’s also a bunch of people who want to party. We don’t know what they are bringing to our mountain and what people will distribute on the mountain. We don’t know their sources.”

As dealers continue to mix it into other drugs because it’s cheap and easy to synthesize, ski areas are faced with the challenge of keeping guests and staff safe.

That sounds sadly accurate. I was feeling he was around a golf course covered in snow. like he passed out and froze.

I’m not seeing “gang signing”. Especially not on an unsourced picture.

I could pick a whole load of similar pictures from my young adult relatives’ & their friends’ SM and I can assure you that gangs aren’t in the picture!!
