I'm guessing it is too much to hope that this waste of skin would plead guilty, saving Sam's family from have to wait for, and sit through, a trial.

I’m so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to find Samuel. I have such respect for detective Bueller. He clearly put his heart into the investigation.
In the past week, I have felt sure Samuel would be found soon.
I will be thinking of his family and friends as this case moves towards resolution in the courts, but for now, I am glad they’re able to put him to rest.

id like to hear the suspected motive as to why a father would kill his daughter's ex-boyfriend in a way that does not involve his peers or happen in the presence of his peers. not saying i don't believe the statement....I'd just be more comfortable with statements to back it up.

i just realized; does that police statement imply that the video shared with family (described as youth surrounding and beating up a young teen) is not samuel, if teens were not involved at all? if so, who was in the video?

The EPS detective speaking in this video says the videos are false and is critical of the time wasted on false SM tips as well. He doesn’t say who the beating involved or if it was just staged.
