"The Calgary Police Service is seeking the public's assistance locating a missing woman who may be in either Vancouver or Toronto.

Shannon Madill (Burgess), 25, was last seen by a family member at approximately 12:30 a.m., on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at her residence in the 1900 block of Spiller Road S.E. When she didn't arrive for plans with family and friends on Sunday, they became concerned and reported her missing on Monday, December 1, 2014.

Although there are no indications of foul play, it is out of character for her to not be in touch with family and friends and police are concerned for her welfare. Shannon frequently travels to Edmonton, Alta., to visit friends and for work as a performance artist and stand-up comedian.

Investigators have also received information indicating she may be in either Vancouver, B.C., or Toronto, Ont.

She is described as white, approximately 130 lbs., 5'6" tall, with red hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Calgary police at 1-403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637), or Leave A Tip on Facebook. Download the free Crime Stoppers Mobile App on iTunes, Google Play or Blackberry App World".

I always thought it was standard protocol for LE to obtain CCTV footage for the area where the person was last seen. There is a 7'11 one block away and other businesses... If they did obtain it and she wasn't spotted on foot or in a vehicle, could she have been in a trunk?

Where is the 7-11 located?

What exactly is the issue? I see lots of criticism of Shannon's career choice. What does that have to do with the fact that she, her keys, and her wallet vanished from her home?
It was about successful acting career vs not so successful acting career. I said nothing about keys.

I posted this way up thread but it is worth repeating:

Lisa Mitchell, another Calgary woman that was reported missing and was recently discovered deceased and her body (parts) were recovered in her home. This was the initial press release:

Seeking public assistance – missing person

January 31, 2013 09:30 AM

Categories: Public Safety, Police

The Calgary Police Service and RCMP are seeking public assistance in determining the movements of a woman who hasn’t been seen by her family since October 2012.

Lisa Michelle MITCHELL, 29, of Calgary, was last seen leaving the Longview area to return to Calgary on Monday, October 29, 2012.

There is some information that around this time, she may have been seen near her home in the community of Ogden.

After not hearing from her, MITCHELL’S family reported her missing.

The investigation indicates that MITCHELL may have traveled to the Edmonton or Fort McMurray area.*

While there is currently no information to indicate foul play may be involved in this case, there is a concern that MITCHELL suffers from a medical condition that may get worse if not treated.

MITCHELL is described as Caucasian, 5’8” tall, 130 lbs., with straight, shoulder-length hair that has been dyed blond. She wears glasses and has a tattoo of a large phoenix on her upper, left arm.

As you can see, it is a very similar release, including the comment, "While there is currently no information to indicate foul play may be involved in this case..." It also suggests she may have travelled and provided two possible locations.

Clearly there WAS foul play as she was murdered and her spouse has been charged.

yeah, the shammrot is straight down the road from her place too? then all the security around the grounds going out to 25th ave. it's such a dense little neighbourhood?????

Put in her address in Google street view - It is maybe a block away.

Which avenue? If the store is between her apartment and Inglewood, perhaps she would walk by the store.

I'm not seeing a store a block from Shannon's home in any direction.

The housing co-op where Shannon and her husband lived is not subsidized. In fact, there is a required minimum income, and a required share purchase.

Exactly. Heading into Inglewood and down Spiller Road, there are numerous businesses. If LE obtained the CCTV from all the possible traveling routes, they *should* have seen her. The only possible scenarios are, that either they did spot her either walking or in a vehicle and for investigative reasons haven't released the information, or she was in a trunk. I can't help but think of the Mitchell case - she was in her HOME for presumably two years.. deceased.

Why would anyone walk down Spiller Road to get to the Inglewood shops?

If it is uncharacteristic for SB to do this.. it certainly isn't the time of year to choose to do it for the first time. Christmas is a time when people tend to want home and family and it is now only one week away. I can't see her willingly leaving at this time.
It is unsettling to think that the other woman mentioned who was missing for 2 years was found in her own home.. similar circumstances too in that it was not her husband who reported her missing either, it was the woman's family, as it was in this case. So... whatever reasons LE had for not searching the other woman's home that she shared with her husband, I sure hope they can overcome that reason in *this* case, and just get in there and do a forensic exam, and look in all the dang fridges and freezers and crawl spaces and floorboards and etc. !!!
Because of that little 'detail' in MSM about the couple being separated.. (I still think it very very odd that this has not been mentioned at all by family or LE, and so I question where MSM got the info and if they got it right).. it could make such a huge difference in this case because.. if they were in fact 'separated within the home', JB would have no reason to question her whereabouts or to assume she wasn't in touch with family and/or friends just because she wasn't in touch with him. But if they were in fact NOT separated, that becomes a whole new and different story in not reporting her missing..... unless this was something that she did to *him* on a regular basis?
We haven't seen any news media taking pics and writing stories about forensics vehicles outside of her apartment/unit.. which leads me to think they haven't bothered to examine her home in great detail. That is rather scary, considering it was the last place she was supposedly seen, and if separated, even worse for the last person to have seen her being the 'estranged' husband.
Ugh, I hate this case!

I am beyond perplexed as to why it is not standard protocol in missing persons cases to not do a thorough search of the home. If it was my loved one, I would want to be eliminated as a suspect and voluntarily invite forensics into my home.

The apartment cannot be seen from the street, as it is up the hill. The 7-11 is not on a route that Shannon would take to go to Inglewood. In fact, there doesn't appear to be any reason for her to walk past the 7-11, and she was not seen at the 7-11.

What is the relevance of the 7-11?

Her apartment is 1900 Spiller Road - You have her on Alexander according to your map. The Spiller Road Apartments are in the picture I posted.

Hmm, with the towns being stacked like that, one might hope someone may have heard something if something happened inside the home, and especially at that time of night where perhaps people aren't necessarily fully asleep yet. I'm sure LE have asked for all of the videotapes from the area from shopkeepers. With nothing said about her being caught on video walking down any street, it leads one to imagine that she wasn't walking. I'm sure they were on the lookout for the 'estranged' husband's vehicle.... since it was reported so many days later though, I wonder how often and how long it takes for one day to become taped over with another day?
I used to own a small cafe for a few years and one time detectives came asking for my recordings because of a woman who had disappeared (and later found murdered). I felt so guilty because of the way they looked at me when I told them the camera wasn't 'real', and was there mostly to deter any staff from thinking about theft. I felt like a real badguy for having such petty thoughts when a real camera could have potentially caught a killer. (I actually bought the cafe like that, with the cameras already set up, and already fake, so I just left them there).

The circle is on her apartment in the above map. The housing co-op does not have the address "1900 Spiller Rd SE".

According to her address and as shown in video from MSM, the apartment complex is the one I posted a picture of at 1900 Spiller Road.
