She has mentioned some serious weight concerns, and linked weight gain with a mental breakdown...

I don't think she committed suicide, as they would have likely found her body by now. But if she took a few days off to unplug, then ran into some bad luck?

Could you please provide a link to Shannon making statements about "serious weight concerns", where she "linked weight gain with a mental breakdown".
Could you please provide a link supporting the claim that Shannon had a mental breakdown.

Reposting clarification regarding off limits information, and proving links when stating facts:

What is going on in here? You guys are usually pretty civil.

Let me clarify, Shannon's social media is allowed to be discussed, her husband's is not.

Anything from MSM is allowed to be discussed.

If the information is coming from a blocked link it's off limits, don't bring it here please. The link will show ******.

Please don't personalize your posts, address the post and not the poster.

Last but not least, please provide links when stating fact.

Thank you

"Shannon Burgess (née Madill), 25, was last seen in the early morning hours of Nov. 27 at her home in the 1900 block of Spiller Road SE."
She has not been seen since that time.
She simply vanished.

There is no indication she vanished that night. She may have gone to bed, and vanished in the morning. To say she vanished that night is supposition, speculation, rumor, and once again... incorrect.

Reports indicate she was last seen that night, but anyone investigating the case would be incompetent to not check further into that story, or look for further sightings or indications of her movement.

Manner of death is unrelated to the length of time a person is missing.

Suicide: Sandra Mykytiuk disappeared on Dec 29. Her body was found May 9 (five months)
Suidide: Matthew Huszar disappeared Christmas 2011. His body was found Jan 2014 (two years)

Siblings' eyes are also unrelated to a person's manner of death.

Police have provided a timeline ending with the last time that Shannon was seen alive. Typically, that time corresponds to the place/time from which someone has vanished. When new information is released - such as a verified sighting of Shannon at another location - that is added to the timeline.

For example, Edmonton native Nancy Cooper was last seen at her home in NC. Her husband claimed that she left their shared (even though they were going through a messy divorce) home in the morning, but the facts were that Nancy was last seen at her home, and then she vanished. No one saw Nancy after she returned to her home shortly after midnight on July 12.

Years later, Medicine Hat native, Brad Cooper, confessed that he murdered his wife in their NC home and then put her body in a drainage ditch.

That is, the last place where a person is confirmed alive is generally accepted as the location from which they vanish.

True ... and Manner of Death, such as suicide, is unrelated to the length of time that someone is missing.

You yourself used the word "typically", which is not absolute.

What happened in one case, is typically irrelevant in another.

Both LE and MSM did not specify that was the night she vanished. Both have reported that was when she was last seen. Unless you have a link to a report stating as a fact, that was the night she "vanished", then it is your speculation alone. She may have slept in, and vanished later that morning.

There are many cases of missing persons who are last seen somewhere, and then linked to somewhere else later. LE also said later she may be in Toronto or Vancouver. That release, in fact, confirms LE is open to the possibility that she didn't vanish that night, and aren't clinging to that scrap of information as anything but the time she was last seen by a witness willing to say so.

Absolutely. It's odd that CPS and the family haven't actually clarified the exact circumstances of her last being seen. Did JB say that he or SB left at 12:30am? Was he staying elsewhere during the separation? Or did they simply go to different rooms?

We're still stuck with the same questions :(

There are no confirmed sighting of Shannon in Toronto or Vancouver, so it appears that tips to those police forces in December, 2014 did not pan out.

As I said, police have provided a timeline for Shannon, with the last known location at her shared home. Until new information is brought forward, all we know is that she was alive and well in her own home, and then she vanished.

Perhaps she vanished from her home in the middle of the night, and perhaps she vanished from her home in the morning. Regardless, the last place where Shannon is confirmed alive is at her home. After that point, there are no confirmed sightings of her. Either she is still in the home she shared with her husband, or she is not. If she is not at home, then she vanished from her shared home.

There is a very large difference between "last reported seen" and "the time and location of disappearance".

Those are mutually exclusive terms and points of reference, and it is critical not to mix the two, confuse the two, or report publicly that SB disappeared from her home that night.

Iirc, in the early days of this case, they were looking for evidence that Shannon might have been at any of the local restaurants or clubs, like Lolita's.
Wonder if anything was found that would change the location of " the last confirmed sighting "?

Given the facts we have:

Eye witness places Shannon at shared home, alive and well, Nov 27 12:30AM
No trace of Shannon after Nov 27 12:30AM

Although it is possible that Shannon was abducted by lunatics at a grocery store, the fact that there are no sightings of Shannon after 12:30AM, there is no electronic record of her after that same time, and that she vanished from the face of the earth, provides the basis for stating that she vanished from her home after 12:30AM Nov 27. I'm more than happy to revise that statement if new facts emerge of a confirmed sighting or electronic activity after she was seen at her home.

Given those facts, she was indeed reported last seen at that time.

The rest of that is your own speculation.

Based on her sister's statements at the press conference, I got the impression that police had information about Shannon's recent spending, and were following up on places where she had spent money - especially in Inglewood.

Wasn't the reference to Lolitas pub based on claims from patrons that police had made inquiries at Lolitas pub?

If you yourself insist on links for every theory, please hold yourself to the same standard.

I don't recall LE stating there was recent spending.

It is generally accepted that if someone is last seen on a bridge, and that person vanishes from the face of the earth, then that person vanished from the bridge. Nancy Cooper was last seen at her home, and then she vanished. There were years of speculation that she went for a run in the morning, per her husband's claim. However, she was murdered in her home ... where she was last seen.

That also applies here. Shannon was last seen at home, and then she vanished. Either something happened to her in her home and she is no longer alive, or she left of her own volition without her car or phone, and managed to avoid all CCTV and electronic activity from that time onward ... which is equivalent to having vanished (not being seen again) from the last location where she was seen.

Police pointed out during the press conference that if someone plans to voluntarily disappear, that requires some planning ... planning which is not evident in Shannon's case.

Communication has evolved since the times of "good gosh golly gee... they just vanished off the face of the earth".

I am reminded of rerun TV shows like "Emergency" and "Dragnet" that use such vague and misleading descriptives of such serious events.

SB was last reported seen at that location, and that is where the ambiguities, and drama should end.

I've linked the press conference that is referenced in the post a couple of times already today. It is necessary to listen to that press conference to get the information.

This one time, I'll provide the time in the linked information, but obviously no one has time to go to that length for people that don't take the time to check the source themselves.

Time: 8:33
