GUILTY Canada - Shannon Burgess, 25, Calgary, 26 Nov 2014 - #4 *Arrest*

Anyone else wondering if her dating profile was changed to show Relationship: OPEN - after her murder???

Authorities have probably requested locking down access to both accounts to prevent information leaks, etc. Relationship status probably just an odd data piece left in the lurch.

Again, I don't recall seeing any facts regarding his mental state through any of this. In fact, one of the neighbors said he was normal.

I'm sure that some people think it's perfectly normal to murder a wife and stuff her in the closet, or behind the fence, for seven months.
In my world, it's a fact that a man that murders his wife; and keeps her body in, or at, his home until such time that the body is removed by someone else, is completely abnormal and beyond rehabilitation. In my opinion, that is severely psychologically whacked.

This guy lied to police for months and to the Madill family. He is the definition of a psychopath. I hope he doesn't make it out of prison.

How is it crazy to hide the fact you killed someone? Who wants to go to jail?

Looks like a husky cross. Wouldn't that type of dog instinctively try to dig up a body?

Most likely. Maybe that could be a reason to get rid of the dog or leave him at a friends house. Maybe the dog died before all of this.

If you have never had a heated argument with your spouse, then you have probably never had a spouse.

The fact he wasn't on a shooting rampage, didn't have neighbors, kids, goldfish, and stuffed animals also buried in the yard, wasn't routinely arrested for streaking, wasn't hospitalized for cutting himself, or didnt have a whole host of other issues that usually indicate mental instability...

Maybe it was just good old demonic possession.

Isn't the crazy part related to killing his wife and keeping her body in, or at, their house for seven months?

Was this his way of ensuring that she didn't leave him? He can still say good night to her each night knowing she's nearby ... in the closet or the backyard?

Or he couldn't get the body out without someone seeing. It could just be crude caution.

There is not one person on this forum that couldn't be pushed to kill another human being. It all depends on your threshold, and the circumstances.

She was found in a container ? What kind ? Is there a pic on MSM or is this an assumption ?

Don't know. Was she? Someone suggested that maybe they bought a freezer and maybe she was in that freezer. What do you think? Did they buy a freezer? Was she in that freezer? If she was in that freezer, would the husky cross dog be scratching at that freezer?

Have at it ... there are certainly some people that think it's perfectly normal to murder a wife and keep her body in the closet or the back yard, however, those people are usually too busy killing and burying people to make a constructive contribution to a forum that seeks to find answers for the families of missing and murdered loved ones.

Or... Maybe it was simply an argument gone deadly? Why does there have to be a psychological component to the burial? Maybe they fought, it got physical, she was struck and killed, he buried her to cover up the crime. Easy peasey.

FWIW, there is an article upthread that reports a neighbor speaking about Josh and his quiet dog...

ETA: It's here ---

Snipped...

...“It wasn’t a tip," said Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm of the CPS Homicide Unit. "As the investigation progressed it rapidly transitioned from a missing persons investigation into a homicide investigation.”

...Neighbours were surprised to hear the ‘normal guy’ with a quiet dog had been charged with second degree murder.

It's simply my opinion that any person that murders a family member and leaves that person in the back yard, or tucked away somewhere in the house, is completely whacked. I understand that some people think that there's something normal about this, or that they are able to justify one or both of these actions, but I can't.

Josh Burgess is completely abnormal, and not psychologically sound. Any man that can do this will never be psychologically sound ... but I understand that some people believe that the actions of Josh Burgess are normal and acceptable.

Interesting! I will take a look for it. I wonder if the neighbour ever saw the dog after Shannon disappeared and just assumed it to be quiet? Maybe the dog was restricted from the yard or confined to the sound room. That poor dog. I wonder if he showed any hostility towards JB.

I have lots of meat on bones in my freezer including raw meat dog food. Never have my dogs attacked or scratched the freezer but as soon as it is unthawed they go mental. Other dogs that visit my home never go straight for my freezer.

Even if he had a heated argument with Shannon and struck her the wrong way he should have been man enough to call 911 and get help. She may be alive today had this happened. I think the confrontation was much more brutal.

I agree that anyone could kill however this type of circumstance does not warrant it. Even if she chased him with a knife. .he could have left the residence and called police. This will be an interesting case as it enters the legal phase.

Shannon was 130 lbs and 5'6". I'm inclined to think that she was buried in the backyard.
