Don’t know how to link to an article on my phone, but CBC has a new article out with some new info - clarifies the vehicle situation (he was driving Gina’s Mazda 3 when he was “apprehended”).....so between the time his mock car was hit and caught fire (approx 11:15) he was able to take the Chev Tracker (Joey’s from some sources), go to Gina’s and kill her (and shoot her dog) and then get to the Enfield gas station to non-chalantly fuel up at 11:24? Luckily the cops recognized him.....bc at that point in time they didn’t know about the Mazda3....lives were saved. Also, when you guys are googling times from one place to another it’s important to remember he was (at times) driving a police car and would be able to easily make the distances more quickly than google maps predicts. All MOO and all that....

His bad luck that he stole a vehicle low on gas.

If one of the LEOs was outside the car, GW was familiar enough with police issue uniforms, he would have recognized them even though it was an unmarked vehicle.

Unless they were not out of the vehicle when GW pulled up......JMO

There was some kind of social gathering IMO

Its also possible that the gathering may have broken up after the altercation btwn the perp and his girlfriend jmo
If the gathering had broken up, that might explain his "list" of people to track down and target.

Looks to me like there's only two on/off ramps in the area;

224 by the Shubenacadie River. And 102 at 14 by Tractor Dome Inc. I would assume one of those two. The 224 looks right based on pics.

About 18 mins, or 22kms approximately.

Victim GG - Corridor Denture Clinic (also appears to be her home) address is on 224 south of Shubenacadie.

Was he already headed there *before* he lost his fake cruiser?

Nice sleuthing! That's interesting, and a good question.

I wonder if there's record of any witnesses that he had the SUV when he got to that scene.

IMO the corrections officers and the denturist (and possibly some neighbours) were on the list.....I think the rest were random opportunities. I suspect he was either looking for his girlfriend or in a rage setting fires to his neighbours (I could be wrong) The gentleman who was interviewed who was “7th or 8th on the list” had refused to sell him an old cop car. Would LOVE to see that list and how many of his victims were on it....

I don't see that anyone has posted this yet. Global News TV report said this evening that the first officer shot was not in the same cruiser car as the constable who was shot and killed. When she rammed him she'd already heard via her radio that a fellow officer was down. I'm quite sure I heard that right. It was very brave of her to take him on by herself.

Listen to the first part of the newscast, after the very brief summary of news highlights.

I think it would be pretty random if he just happened to stop at random persons home that was working in the same somewhat unique occupation as him while he was fleeing. I think its likely that he was headed to her home to target her and knew he couldn't keep driving the silver tracker. He knew he had no choice but to leave the tracker there and take her mazda 3. The fact that it needed fuel was just extremely fortunate in order to end the rampage without further loss of life(other than his own of course). JMO

I wish the reporter in this Global TV news clip had followed the WS postings from day one. Every word of her report might hold true BUT in a very early article posted on in WS an identical party was related only it was in 2004. Did they recreate this party again last Saturday night?

Quote: “He was very jovial,” she said in an interview just outside her house. “But there is another side to Gabe. He had some issues, especially with his girlfriend.”

Hudson said she and her husband John used to hang out with Wortman and his friends on Portapique Beach Road, though she said she hadn’t seen her neighbour in about a year.

“There was some underlying issues that I think he had with his relationship. It was a red flag …. (What happened on the weekend) wasn’t a surprise to some degree, but not to this extreme.”

Hudson mentioned being at a bonfire with Wortman, his girlfriend and some other neighbours around 2004 when there was some kind of altercation that left most at the gathering stunned. Hudson declined to offer details.

“He had an obsession with his girlfriend,” she said. “Just being jealous about things with her. I think that’s where things got in the way …. She was a beautiful girl.””

Probe into mass killing in Nova Scotia continues as names of victims emerge

Also, can anyone match the victims to this reported Saturday night party?
I saw an article that described the Blair’s as people who would have a beer and shoot the sh@t with.....maybe the “party” was there? It would fit with the cops finding bodies inside and outside the initial residence and the Blair’s older son (I believe his son from a previous relationship) said the 2 boys are now with him and that their dad was shot outside and their mom came into the house and was shot inside the bedroom. They then ran to McCully’s house. All in an article from this morning I still can’t figure out how to link. The multiple bodies inside and outside never sat right with me. And now the girlfriend has been accounted for (I was stuck on who she was....none of the victims fit).....a party or gathering does make that make a bit more sense.

Well, maybe the party or gathering story from Global news is true. This article about the Blairs mentions that the bonfires of ca. 2004 were still happening.

I read thru the profiles of 22 victims here https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/photos-nova-scotia-shooting-victims-1.5538364
None of those identified as neighbours seemed the partying type, and were either much older or younger than GW.

However, I recall that there may be 4 people missing but not yet identified.

He was at the Tuck/Oliver residence I believe as they have been reported as the first to have been killed. They lived next door. I believe Lisa M may have been next as she lived across from GW. Reports state she went outside to check what was going on/help. <modsnip: no MSM to support>

Yeah It would be more surprising if there had not been similar altercations in the past.

There almost always is with these types of perps

This is also what I suspect. The Blair's two boys are 10 & 12 so I'm sure they were left home alone. I think GW & girlfriend were at the Tuck residence with the Blair's. GW went home, assaulted & bound gf, went back to the Tuck home, killed them, encountered Lisa, then headed to the Blair's. At some point (before the Blair's or after), I speculate he went home and realized gf was gone so he began burning homes to ensure she had no where to go. The Blair's children ran to Lisa's home, where they found her children then called 911.

Not enough people shot in one location to be a house party in my opinion.
Sometimes police talk refers to people as “ a party of #”.

Maybe his list was of people his girlfriend was friendly with, just in case? The couple who were spared said he was going after his friends.

Regarding the gas station where he was apprehended, did he pull in knowing there were LE there? Or did they arrive after him?

The police were there first.

I agree that it is highly unlikely that GG was randomly attacked. I feel certain GW knew her. As you noted, denturists are not that common.

I wonder whether he was on his way there already and would have shown up at her place in his fake cruiser if not for his interaction with Const. Stevenson (i.e. was GG on the "target" list?). Or was she the solution to a problem he had to solve now that he didn't have his fake cruiser plus the vehicle he fled in was known? If he knew GG, he may have also known her place was nearby and that it is pretty isolated. It would be a good place to dump the silver Tracker and get an unknown vehicle.

Either way, he must have gone there immediately and gotten down to business. There is just not much time between the ramming incident and the final shooting in Enfield.

Thank you! If it is the same weapon, then we know how long he was planning this.

"Police are investigating after a service pistol was stolen from an off-duty RCMP officer’s vehicle in downtown Halifax on the weekend.

Halifax Regional Police say the firearm was taken from the officer’s personal vehicle in the 1700 block of Granville Street between 7:40 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Three magazines and ammunition were also stolen."

Service pistol stolen from off-duty RCMP officer in Halifax: police

I missed the 2019 part.

So in someone’s hands for a year. If they’re not part of this, they should turn them in. Drop them off safely.

A RCMP officer lost his badge and ID today in Halifax as well.
