It could be. I see a string of connections. Some personal, some petty. Lisa McCully had a property dispute with him. Gina Goulet owned a competing business. Perhaps there was some small town issue with clientele between the two. We'll likely never know.

This guy just strikes me as a sad sack who saw himself hard done by and wanted others to pay.

He was an acquaintance of Lisa McCully, she actually purchased her home from him and his uncle <modsnip: name redacted>. He lived across the street from her, but there was no property dispute. The dispute was between him and his uncle over the money earned from the sale of her home.

All that’s been verified is that the girlfriend/partner exists and is still alive. It’s interesting that media reports have stopped talking about her having left him for someone else.

I live close to the scene. Not all homes were located on Portapique Beach Rd. Some also took place on Orchard Beach Rd. Given the distance between each home, I don't think it's possible that she escaped to all the homes. He had homes on both roads.

No, but he could have been trying to limit her options in regards to an escape? He was knocking on their doors and shooting them; possibly in attempt to locate her?

Records show that McCully acquired the property in March 2015. A few months later, Wortman's uncle took him to court in a dispute over who was entitled to the proceeds of the sale.

But according to the affidavit, Wortman wouldn't release his name on the title to the property and claimed his uncle still owed him money.

McCully didn't have a dispute. GW and his uncle had a dispute over the ownership of the property. She was an arm's length purchaser at FMV and the Wortmans had a dispute over the proceeds.

He wouldn't release as between him and the uncle; he would have to release to convey title to her, or it was done by court order. The dispute between the Wortman's wouldn't affect her purchase and clean title.

Very coincidental, but certainly unrelated. There is a major fire tonight at the firehall of Shinimica, NS (about 40 mins from Wentworth). 11+ fire departments responding. Fire hall and equipment look Like a total write off based on Social Media posts.

The folks on the North Shore just can't get a break.

Yeah I just keep thinking about victims families keep saying their loved one knew him, was an acquaintance, knew him but they weren't friends or knew of him etc.

But like you I can't help but wonder if maybe they were more her friends

"We're looking for any information that could help with the investigation," says Supt. Darren Campbell, Officer in Charge of Support Services for the Nova Scotia RCMP. "Anything you know – no matter how small or insignificant it might seem – could help us piece the puzzle together."

The tip line can be reached at 902-720-5959 or toll-free at 1-833-570-0121. Police officers are answering both numbers. When you call, you may get voicemail, so please leave a detailed message along with your name and contact information. An investigator will get back to you. In order to gather and process the information as quickly as possible, we are asking people to use the tip line as their only point of contact to report information about the incidents.

The tip line was launched yesterday and announced at a news briefing to media. We've already gotten many tips and we thank the public for taking the time to reach out.

Remember: if you know something, please call and let our investigators decide the value of that information. That piece of information you have may be a turning point in the investigation.

She lived across the street from him. Apparently came out of the house in response to the fire and encountered him.

But wouldn't that then mean that the names of those victims would not be on the "list?" I mean, if the list wasn't found till a day later? Unless, of course it was all planned in advance? Regardless of any "fight" that occurred that night?
