This quote makes me wonder if it's Sonia:
Const. Peter Leon said police are now waiting for a coroner to determine whether the remains are human and who they belong to.
Are the remains so poorly preserved that it isn't clear whether the remains are human? Sonia hasn't been missing that long. Are there only body parts in very poor condition?

From the time she went missing until now they should know just by looking. I would say that LE officer is inexperienced with human remains. jmo

How far from Sonia's home is this? Anyone know.
With all do respect Ruby Red, I don't think that they are "inexperienced". I think that they know who and what they have found, but in all honesty, this case has been jumped on by the media, and to be fair to the families involved THEY should be the first to get the information, not the general public. LE has to say something to put off the press for at least a short amount of time, until identity is confirmed, and the family is informed. That is simply my opinion.
Looks like Ontario has gone nuts lately. Makes me want to move to the woods and hide my kids.
I found the intersection of Beechgrove and St. Andrew's Road and made a map but I don't have Sonia's address. Remains were found East of St. Andrew's.
More info:
-remains were found in the woods.
-a jogger smelt a strong stench coming from there on Saturday
-the owner of the property didn't notice anything but people dump their garbage sometimes on Beechgrove

It's a holiday weekend so there may be a delay. If it is Sonia, I would imagine they can use dental which wouldn't take as long as DNA.How long does it usually take the coroner to confirm identity? I guess they leave some time to inform all family members also before they report to the public.
