I know that police are issued their own boots. Definitely not construction type from MWW. Not sure about EMS drivers and workers. Sonia wasn't working at a hospital at the time of her murder. I can't remember which one she was working at before she quit though. Refresh?

Are you thinking that she had a bit of a "stalker" who made runs to the hospital where she worked? I believe she was in pediatrics so it's unlikely she'd have much cause to be seen by EMS drivers who only spend their time in Emergency.

MOO
In pediatrics there can be EMS drivers around because they tend to transfer kids from hospital to hospital depending on conditions. At least that is what I observed in my time working in Peds ICU.

Cops also wear MWW boots, as they say that they are far more comfortable than those issued. I discovered this under the thin blue line website under uniforms a long time ago. Also army. No doubt other professions do as well. Yes, they come in black.

Personally I don't see anyone who was wearing a uniform having the nerve to do something like this, and drive away in the car. Not to mention the distruction of the uniform. And if they weren't in uniform, why would they be wearing those boots in a heatwave? Even if they were just off or just starting work you'd think they would only put the boots on when the uniform is on.

Young punks? Yeah I can see them wearing construction boots, with jeans, in a heatwave. If it was considered "fashionable" at the time. Was it?

Otherwise, what line of work requires these boots, without full uniform, that would be working on a Sunday and off between 10-11pm?

Was there a lot of blood in her car from the perp's clothes? Was he wearing coveralls and the boots? A car mechanic? Did she have work done on her car recently?

So many different scenarios possible. And LE even have the perp's DNA, so frustrating. :gaah:

OK thanks for that. Now I'm wondering....I've sleuthed a lot of cases and noticed something. Usually bodies are dumped North of the point of origin. I know this is just a generalization. However, just north of Sonia's place is the HWY 10. Why not just drive up there and go on a side road to dump her body? I mean, LE believe the perp is familiar with the area. Why go on Beachgrove near someone's property? One could get pretty far out and away from the area by driving straight up North. And the perp could have parked her car in the same location at the equestrian shop easily. I think the perp was avoiding going north for some reason and it may be because there is too much of a connection to the perp there. So what's up there? The towns of Shelburne and Mono. JMO MOO

This is definitely one of the most frustrating cases I have come across at WS.

It's beyond comprehension to me that with 3 crime scenes and what is likely a massive amount of evidence, that LE are unable to narrow a suspect down.

Whatever came of the gazebo boys?

I guess I'm back to multiple, drug induced participants in some sick fantasy theory.

WHO left Orangeville after Sonia's murder?

Wearing the boots in a heat wave.

Now THAT is something I hadn't thought of before.

That is an EXTREMELY astute observation, IMO.

Would young guys wear those boots with jeans in August?

A lone night shift worker or a young punk or two on a sick fantasy mission.

Where are we at guys?

Sonia WALKED everywhere, according to her Mom ( and thread 1).

Where did Sonia walk?

Also - when reporters first released the news that Sonia's remains were found, they reported a piece of clothing was found.

What piece of clothing was found and why wasn't it on her?

What about the fitted sheet and comforter that were missing? Did they ever find them? The blood soaked top sheet was in her home.

What evidence indicated she knew her murderer?

When I google on the address "Caledon near Beech Grove Sideroad and Mountainview Road" (where SV's body was found) and click on maps, then I see a "Teen Camp" or "Teen Ranch" (beside other addresses). On this ranch there are several summer camps as for horses, soccer, bmx, extreme, hockey, skating. I think of the boots ... And every time, I read "horses" or "Equestrian", then always JV comes into my mind ...

The image of a horse " dragging the rider" comes to mind, when thinking of SV apparently pulled out of her house. jmo.

But too silly: the horse had squealing tires ...

Audrey, Shelley and Sonia - Have not had justice served. They might all have different culprits but they, all three, have been denied justice. Not a peep from those formally "investigating" and time passes...

Audrey's only forum ("voice") for quite a time was here on WS. Even that has been denied her. Google her, not much comes up. So much discussed and researched on her case and it all went "underground".
