Someone whose face would not be recognized because he is not from the area? speculation.
But someone who might be recognized somewhere in Ontario? In all of Canada? Grew up there as a child hence knowledge of the area?

Wish there was an e fit of the perp released, at least then people will have an idea of the perps race and general appearance, it might spark someone's memory, who knows, maybe another nurse dated someone who got problematic and is unsure about speaking up until a bit more about the perp's appearance is known, imo.

They have DNA. They have an understanding of his possible movements after the murder.''
And, it turns out, police are also holding security video footage of a car travelling away from the homicide scene at a high rate of speed, a vehicle they believe may have been on its way to dispose of her body near Orangeville
.''

“High risk,” Glassford said, describing the effort to move the victim’s body from her home and attempt to make it disappear.''

''To do it, the killer moved her remains from the house, placed her in her car and drove it to a wooded area about 12 kilometres away. For six days, she was missing. If not for a dog out for a walk, picking up the scent and heading five metres off a rural road, it’s possible Sonia might never have been found.

After leaving her in the wild, the killer brazenly drove her car back to Orangeville and left it parked behind a downtown business before disappearing. The car, which was noticed by workers with blood inside, is one of three crime scenes. Now the OPP reveal for the first time they have actual video footage of what is believed to be her car in the early-morning hours of Aug. 30, travelling in Orangeville.''

''Moving her body from the home, taking her car through town to a secluded area and then returning to the downtown area are all gambles in a town with people milling about. The proximity of the townhouses illustrates just how problematic this could have been for possible detection, which could have triggered a call to police.

“Someone could have seen him coming out of the house,” Glassford said. “Someone could have seen him park the car behind the business.”

Some of it could have been caught on video. Now we know some was.''

''Sonia’s townhouse complex on Spring St., is nestled behind a neighbourhood in such a way that it would be easy to drive by and not know it is even there. But behind it is a small brush area with paths that lead to downtown.
Could the killer have come from the centre of Orangeville, through this wooded area, to make his way to her home?

Could he be from the town? Could he have parked somewhere near where her car was later found? Did he know the area? Or was he from somewhere else? Did he know Sonia or did he know of her?''
IDK what an "e fit" is but if it pertains to some kind of basic profile based on the DNA then yes, by all means it should be done.

It was ballsy to move the body however the perpetrator must have needed that time and/or known it would pay off for them. Makes me wonder if this person hasn't maybe killed before and possibly has learned from past mistakes.

IIRC it's said (don't have link/quote rn) that there was a concentration of blood in the bedroom, that Sonia was wearing some kind of nightgown and that the duvet/comforter for her bed was used to move her body. Wondering then, did Sonia invite this person inside, upstairs? Was she attacked while in her bed?

I'd been thinking someone got inside when Sonia let the cat out/in, waiting for her to do so. This doesn't make sense though as I'm assuming she'd have let the cat in on the ground floor and subsequently have been attacked there instead.

One last weird (stupid?) question: Is it possible there is some kind of attic crawlspace above the townhouse units? I've heard of townhouses where the attic space is supposedly connected as if you could enter another unit by entering the attic and crawling across the "ceiling". Creepy. Then again that would mean the killer was one of Sonias neighbours which I doubt. FWIW.

New article, thank you! rbbm.

“Over 1,500 tips have been received from the public. Investigators continue to seek the one piece of information that will lead to an arrest,” OPP wrote.

12 years and 1500 tips - that isn't that much! Although might be sufficient, if the perp was interviewed already or at least named via call.

Do we know what kind of pharmaceutical company Sonia started working for? Could her killer be a drug seeker? A link to the Sherman’s? Didn’t Shelley’s husband work in pharma In Mississauga?

''Do you know these people? - This grainy video depicts two people in a gazebo prior to them walking away at about 5:58 am on August 30, 2010. Police would like to identify these individuals to speak with them. The quality of this video is grainy but investigators are hopeful that these individuals will recognize themselves or that someone will be able to identify them and come forward to the police. These individuals are potential witnesses and are not suspects in this case. Anyone who recognizes these people are requested to contact the investigators immediately at the Orangeville Police Service Tip Line - (519) 941-2522, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if you wish to remain anonymous.''

I wonder why Othram hasn't been called in? Surely Sonia's killer left DNA.

I believe it was a non-pharmaceuticals spin-off of the merger of two pharma companies. So depending on the dates, yes and no.
