What years were they in production? That might give LE a window.BTW, the boots with distinctive soles worn by Sonia's killer don't seem to be in production now. I looked for them in stores.
I don't know when they stopped using those soles, but the company would have that information. LE could find out production dates/suppliers directly. What years were they in production? That might give LE a window.
And hopefully find out who purchased them throughout Ontario.I don't know when they stopped using those soles, but the company would have that information. LE could find out production dates/suppliers directly.
Thanks, from link..And more here. Apologies if it’s a rehash

HUNTER: 12 years of tears since murder of Orangeville nurse Sonia Varaschin
Tuesday marked the 12th anniversary of the grisly murder of 42-year-old nurse, Sonia Varaschin.torontosun.com
FYI, a merger occurred in 2008. I don't know when Shelley's husband left the company to study nursing.I believe it was a non-pharmaceuticals spin-off of the merger of two pharma companies. So depending on the dates, yes and no.
I can't imagine who would want to own boots with those soles after police publicized the brand and sole pattern.I don't know when they stopped using those soles, but the company would have that information. LE could find out production dates/suppliers directly.
A tale of two women attacked while alone in their homes, two white vehicles, two connections to pharma companies. That's a lot of twos. One leaves nursing for pharma while the other´s husband leaves pharma for nursing.
I might as well mention that another woman living alone was murdered in her home in 2010, also in Ontario. She also drove a white vehicle. Her name was Audrey Gleave. We don't know if there were any similarities forensically between all of these murders/attacks, but strangely there is much confusion over whether DNA was actually found at the crime scenes.A tale of two women attacked while alone in their homes, two white vehicles, two connections to pharma companies. That's a lot of twos.

ONTARIO COLD CASE: Is an arrest close in brutal attack of Shelley Loder?
The vicious attack on Shelley Loder and the murder of Sonia Varaschin occurred three months apart in 2010. Could the cases be related?www.orangeville.com
Logic tells us who is most likely to commit a crime like this. Logic also tells us that if DNA from people known to a victim is found in their home, this DNA is or is not useful, depending on where it is found and the relationship to the person. So sorry if someone has re-posted this for the anniversary already (I haven't doubled back yet through the prev pages) but here's the video from 2 years ago, Who Killed Sonia:
In the video, Det. Glassford states that the area of townhomes where Sonia lived was very tightly packed; he indicates the killer likely knew the area. Sonia's mom makes it clear she believes someone was there at Sonia's house in the evening because she didn't receive a call from Sonia that night (which was unusual UNLESS there were visitors). The former bf says he spoke with Sonia by phone around 9 pm. So: how do we reconcile these details? Michele reveals that Sonia was wearing a new nightgown she had bought herself for her birthday that night (Michele says Sonia had it on when found); Sonia would not likely be wearing it without a dressing gown to answer the door after 9 pm, Michele states.
She reminds us that the former bf's house is less than 5 km (per Michele) from where Sonia's body was found. Some like me have thought the perp was perhaps trying to frame the bf; Sonia's mom has a different interpretation.
I noted in the video the interesting way Glassford answered Qs about DNA. I know there's room for different interpretation on that. (Me, I share Michele's worries.)
What will it take to solve this case???
