According to this article, he was arrested 6 weeks after the attack on the flower shop clerk. 6 weeks from May 27, 2009. Doesn't jive with Sonias' assault and savage murderJust stumbled across this guy Robert Francis Richards. I don't know when he was arrested (as Sonia's killing was a year later). Surely this guy would have been looked at as a possible perp in Sonia's case.

Former Mississauga man serving time for vicious attack of Caledon woman in Orangeville store denied parole
The Parole Board of Canada has denied parole for a former Port Credit man who is serving time for attacking a Caledon woman at Creek Side Clothing Company in Orangevillewww.caledonenterprise.com
His 2009 victim was found a 5 min drive from where Sonia lived on Spring St.
The 2009 victim's car was taken, and Sonia's car was taken. If he drives transport, he would need a smaller vehicle to get around. IIRC, Sonia lived very close (a block or so away ?) to a Tim Horton's.
ETA: One of the articles about him indicated he also lived in Orangeville at some point.

Dangerous offender status sought for man who viciously attacked female shopkeepers
A former truck driver pleads guilty to choking and stabbing a female Toronto florist working alone, one of two attacks in six weeks
Terrifying to know there was more than one murderer operating in a not-so-large radius.
