Interesting...From the article JillyBean just posted...
"Under these circumstances, no final conclusions can be drawn on the circumstances. Because the suspect denies that he has anything to do with the death and the research does not give definitive conclusions, the judge has decided that the evidence in this case no longer justify the detention of the suspect. By this, the investigating judge shows a different interpretation of the case than the Prosecutors Office."

Well, I really wanted to go look through the garbage on the curb, to go through it carefully. But my boyfriend didn't want me to, and he stuck around until I went to sleep. I thought I'd go at the crack of dawn but I overslept. Then I got Rival Suitor to go with me, but he chickened out. On the possibly useful side, he pointed out that cracked glass. I thought I'd head back when it was darker, but didn't wake up. Then it rained, then I had this overdue paper. Went back tonight and it was gone :-( All gone except the Fed Ex box. In the place of the garbage that was previously covered with a white sheet, there is a single clear bag full of chopped up wood. See attached pic: http://imgur.com/eg9l1eD (it won't let me post it here - 'too large'). What's in the bag, firewood?

By the way, can you see all my pics (regardless of album) by going to this url? I can, and I'm not logged in. http://ladybugb.imgur.com/all/

Yes I can see two albums for a total of 18 images. In the photo of the chopped wood I can see a reflected image of a bicycle. Not sure of the origin of the reflection but just be careful as we don't know what/who is behind all of this.

Hey folks .. just a reminder that TOS doesn't permit us to bring rumours to Websleuths. A couple of posts and responses/references to them have been removed.

Lawyer Eugene Tan told reporters outside of court on Wednesday that the apartment has been renovated, affecting his ability to examine the scene with an expert.

All the examination in the world won't wipe out evidence of a murder on the premises.
Blood is blood.
LE must have found strong evidence there to call it the crime scene

In Ladybug's pic of the Fed Ex package, the company appears to be an aftermarket auto parts supplier, so maybe an indication that WS does own a vehicle.

Weird though .. the date on that package is April 22 2015. What was it doing still sitting in the hallway in August? Perhaps just an innocuous looking vessel for money/drug exchanges without folks having to be seen dealing (pun) with one another?

Defense examination of crime scene not “mandatory”

Brian Smith, treasurer of the Nova Scotia Criminal Lawyers Association, said police have the right to release a scene once they are done their investigation. Smith is not associated with the Sandeson case.

“In a case such as an apartment, the apartment would be turned back into the hands of the landlord,” he said. “The landlord obviously would want to clean the place up or do whatever they have to in order to get it re-rentable having a very serious event having happened in their premise.”

Smith said defense lawyers do not have a right to attend the scene.

Defense hopeful for evidence from Crown

Tan said he hopes the Crown will provide him with the original forensic evidence, videotape evidence as well as photographs.

“I’m going to be commissioning my own experts in order to review it but at this point, I can’t really say other than it really prejudices the defense and their ability to essentially have a different version of what happened,” he said.

“For us to lay a charge of first degree murder, we have to have sufficient evidence in relation to the crime. We are confident we have that in this case.”
Rath said police have executed other search warrants in connection to the case but she is not able to provide further detail because those warrants have been sealed.

No different than any other case. Once LE is done with their investigation, they release the crime scene. Not their fault if Mr. Tan either wasn't hired yet or wasn't quick enough on the draw if he was hired.
