Did JS not just have charges brought against him and a court date coming for a B&E *2?* from August..once for booze & again for a tv?

I can't find any references to anything in the news but a clean record until this charge. What is your source for this?

He apparently had a clean 'record'....but as the cbc article above kindly posted by north_west shows....there are charges that were to be addressed on Tuesday......*thanks north_west!*

<modsnip>

despite CD's denial there was any kind of relationship, MSM reports have stated repeatedly that those who knew them both, said they were romantically involved at some point. Either MSM and all those folks making that claim got that wrong (and it's certainly possible) or CD has not been entirely forthcoming with that detail (which is also entirely possible, especially considering what he's been charged with).

I do NOT want to be on the bandwagon that's bashing CD, so please don't read anything else into that.

"He has no criminal record but was supposed to appear in court on Tuesday on outstanding charges of breaking and entering and possession of property under $5,000 from an incident in August."

Thanks! I've been looking all over for that article and couldn't find it again, so I thought I misread a post as if it were an article.

So would this guy do a B&E in an easily identified vehicle? Did the father not have a car that would be parked at home that night? Either way, B&E's are the livelihood of addicts, which helps support the notion of the "drug addicted pedofiles" that the father talked about contemporary to the perp's earlier breakins. So this brings us back more fixedly to the question 'was our perp the target of that comment, and if so, why?'

"I'm not the bad guy for not wanting my child around drug addicted pedofiles" said a post attributed to [the father] on March 8, 2013."

So just a theory...so JMO...IMO...
I'm from a very small town originally...less than 2,000...everyone knows what you're doing before you even do! (

Respectfully snipped but VERY good points. I also lived in a very small town where everyone knew everyone else's business so what you say makes a TON of sense. Where we lived, there was 1 taxi driver and everyone knew his routine. Hubby and I had a conversation one day about how creepy that was because anyone could have broken into his house at any time, since all the locals knew exactly when he wouldn't be home (and he lived alone).

Except in this case... if DS heard Monday was the transition day to take Hailey home and TB wouldn't be there, he likely wouldn't have waited until 3am to break in. UNLESS, all along TB was the target for some reason, and he was hoping to get the jump on him in the middle of the night after a long day on the road.

Just thinking outloud & jumping off your thoughts.

Obviously we can't ask Terry who he was referring to by that comment but, odds are, those closest to him knew exactly what he was Vaguebooking about. Close friends and family usually do know who those vague references are about.

This is where I must have seen the info about specifics on charges for alcohol & tv....I knew I'd read it in msm somewhere! :)

http://lethbridgeherald.com/news/na...ung-man-charged-with-killing-daughter-father/

"Court records show Saretzky had recently been charged with breaking into a Blairmore home in August. The homeowner in that case, Ray MacGregor, told The Canadian Press he was not home at the time of the break-in. But he said he heard from his neighbours that it happened overnight and some liquor was stolen. Someone returned the next day and was caught in the act of trying to steal a TV."

Gotta love small towns hey? I actually DO love small town life vs. city life.....one thing ...they pull together....even if there had normally been disagreements or what have you....it's like they band together from the outside world....like family...

ie: "I can say whatever I want to you...but if someone from the 'outside' does...look out!"....that kind of 'feel'....protective...

I'm hoping in this case all families involved get the support from the community....even DS's family is going to be affected.....it wasn't them tho....it was that particular individual....

I thought Sunday was the transition day tho? Why I figured....if TB was taking Hailey....you would think he'd want to get her there at a decent time...with a 5-6 hour drive...I'd would GUESS he'd leave at the latest early afternoon? &...I wonder if he drove back the same night normally or stayed in Edmonton till Monday....

I know I read somewhere that Monday was his day off....maybe that was normal? To give him time to get back from Edmonton and be ready for work Tuesday? I'm not sure....

And another thing about small town life....our town....not even big enough for a taxi....just thought I'd add that ;) & you and hubby are correct.....creepy....plus the fact that to this day in a lot of homes in small towns....they still don't lock their doors! Now that I live in the city....for sure I do...but out there....never really did...and I know a lot of people who wouldn't even think they had to....

IMO...JMOO

Yep, we never *ever* locked our doors either. Until we heard about Jesse Imeson. Of course we didn't know who he was yet, just that the elderly couple he targeted wasn't that far from our place & we lived in the middle of farm country as well. In fact, some of our doors (we had 5 that lead to the outside) didn't even HAVE locks. We rigged those right smartly and made sure no one could get in. It was distressing to say the least.

On the flip side, small towns do rally together & take care of their own. Barn fires or sudden loss? Everyone in town is right there to help in any way they can. You'll never find that in bigger cities on the same level as these small, rural/farming towns.

Perhaps he tried to burn her body?

I can't understand how no one that lived on the property was aware of what happened in the middle of the night.

It's kind of out in the middle of nowhere. I'm not sure if anyone lives there or not, but there's a lot of space.

ETA: And I'm sure half the people there don't lock their doors. We always did at night or when we went out, but not during the day and we never locked our cars or anything. And even in my family, that was a more recent thing (locking the doors at all).

Terry Blanchette was a cook, so he probably had quite a knife collection - probably very sharp knives. The weapon could easily be a convenient weapon found at the scene. Do we know that Terry was asleep at the time of the murder? Cooks sometimes work late hours, and sometimes they socialize after work. Do we know that Derek wasn't visiting Terry when the murder happened?

We do not know if Terry was asleep or not. We do know that it was his day off. That has been reported several times in MSM articles. We do not know if Derek was visiting or not. It is a small town it is quite possible the doors to the house were not locked.

  • #193
Exactly. Either there was no one at any of the houses and trailers, and there are no dogs on any of the properties, or someone on the property knew something happened and didn't say anything.

Or they just slept through it.

I wouldn't be surprised if CD and DS hadn't hooked up even just for sex, it seems that in this day and age young people are more experimental.

I think that he was taking away what CD loved, if he couldn't have CD, because of Terry and Hailey then CD wasn't going to have Terry and Hailey

If motive was paternity, why in the world couldn't that have been solved 2 1/2 years ago ? And why would he kill his own child if he thought she was his? Sorry but I'm not buying the paternity theory.

  • #196
My thoughts only...

CD and DS were never involved... ever. The comment from the relative that said "if you love her bring her back" (paraphrased)... made everyone think that CD had the baby and had someone take her from Terry. So, when the perp's name was revealed, everyone (including MSM) assumed that CD had a romantic relationship with the perp.

Just MOO

I don't believe the paternity theory either.

  • #198
The "if you really love her" comment that was attributed to two different relatives (still not sure if they both said it or that was just an error in reporting) really troubles me. Obviously someone assumed they KNEW who had her. Did they assume wrongly?

Since CD and TB shared custody, there wouldn't be any reason for CD to have someone take Hailey - as she was supposed to be headed back to mommy's anyway.

  • #199
There have been conflicting stories about custody. Some saying 2 weeks with each parent while others said HDB lived with dad but sometimes visited mom or mom visited.

Agree....it sounds as if CD was going to be seeing HDB right away anyway, so why be involved a plot to take her? Doesn't make sense.
As for the comments from godmother - either not directed at anyone and we r all reading into it too much. Or they r directed at a specific someone. It's on FB, so needs to be taken with a large grain of salt and I won't say specifics. But during a period of time when TB had many FB posts that clearly linked him with CD and HDB there was another individual with very similar posts.
