:waitasec: I can't get the video to work. Can someone sum it up for me? Pretty Please!
Here's the transcript of the video.
Anchor Woman:
She is known only as Linda, the mystery woman. Two months ago, she walked into a Toronto shelter claiming she didn't know who she was. But this weekend, a possible breakthrough. Ivy Cuervo has more.
Ivy Cuervo:
Side by side, the resemblance is striking - the same pale blonde hair, blue eyes and oval shaped face. Both women also share the same name - Linda.
Const. Tony Vella - Toronto Police Service
We're looking at a possible connection in Delaware. Still, at this point, still unclear.
Ivy Cuervo:
Linda Hegg was missing more than a week ago in Delaware. She suffers from a medical condition.
Lt. Mark A Farrall - Newark PD
She's 55 years of age. She does not drive. So we're not exactly sure how she would have gotten to Toronto.
Ivy Cuervo:
Police here began an investigation when a mystery woman showed up on the streets of Downtown in September.
Const. Tony Vella - Toronto Police Service
She can't provide police or anyone else with any additional information about herself. So the big question is: Who is she? Where did she come from?
Ivy Cuervo:
A breakthrough came through this weekend through the internet and social media, someone in Toronto made a connection and called Police.
Lt. Mark A Farrall - Newark PD
A woman who had actually reported this to us had happened to be on a missing person website. And on that website, she saw our press release, and she also knew of the missing person in Toronto, put two and two together.
Ivy Cuervo:
If these two Lindas are one-in-the-same, how did she make it across the border?
Lt. Mark A Farrall - Newark PD
It is quite a distance away, and in my 18 years here at the Police Department, I've never seen a missing person that we've had recovered at such a distance.
Ivy Cuervo:
Toronto Police call this a unique case. They've been in touch with the Police in Delaware and the family of a missing woman in that area. DNA testing is being done to determine Linda's true identity.
Ivy Cuervo - CBC News - Toronto.

Pretty awesome that they show Websleuths on this. Although I'm in Colorado. Maybe someone else on WS made the connection too.![]()
FWIW....someone on the Missing People of Canada FB Page posted info about WS and copied the information there so I'm assuming the Canadian woman is the one they refer to in the article as having contacted LE.
For the record, it wasn't me. In my opinion, dylansmom deserves all the credit! You found the connection.
Great Job!! Also, wanted to say that I read your post about Jessica guiding you to find Linda's identity and tears flowed. I believe.
Thanks for all you do Websleuthers! We rock!:rocker:
PS This is a great example that there are no borders when it comes to missing and unidentified persons. Follow your gut, follow your instinct, and above all, keep on sleuthing.
:rose:
I'm so happy Linda is "found".
