Oh no, that isn't it at all. Hirsch knows that the film would be a very big seller. That's why he made the offer in the first place. But he later realized after getting many complaints that he would have to deal with nonstop phone calls and hate mail.

Make no mistake. There is a large audience for such a film.

I completely agree. I guarantee that there would be a lot of relatively "normal" people who would be in that large audience.

I am glad they retracted their offer but I think she will be given offers like this for years to come. Amy Fisher actually did her first "full-scale" movie last fall. I think all of her stuff happened in 1992, so she's still doing stuff like this almost 20 years later.

Steven Hirsch of Vivid Entertainment made the offer yesterday, dropped it today and cited the “overwhelmingly negative response” from the public.

Hirsch released a statement: “We were ready to make an offer to Casey to star in one of our feature films. It’s clear to me now, however, that there has been an overwhelmingly negative response to our offer and so we’ve decided to withdraw it.

“It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a movie."

Also, after her liaison with PTL televangelist Jim Bakker, Jessica Hahn cashed in with an obligatory Playboy appearance and movies. She even later appeared on the sit-com Married...with Children.

I can see it all falling into place for ICA. She does a Playboy shoot. Hugh Hefner, whose latest bride-to-be recently left him at the alter, wants to fill this unexpected vacuum, and he prefers ICA's age range.

After Hefner proposes, and after an infernal marriage ceremony, ICA (in the tradition of Hefner's former companions), won't need any marketable skills, and will have no housework at the Mansion. Hefner and ICA will both be comfortable with the absence of small children. They will, in short, reinforce each other's worst instincts while basking together under the golden rays of fame and wealth.

I had a couple of friends that went to a party at Hef's, not my cup of tea. But by all reports he really is a cool guy. And her has standards and ICA meets none of them.

I don't think anyone in the industry would want to work with her. I used to work in a salon that did hair extensions and some of the clients were actresses or strippers, even escorts. It really did seem like most of them were sensitive, vulnerable, isolated and despite everything they did to keep themselves beautiful were not superficial. I think that many of them had been abused as children. ICA would not leave the set alive.

This is the first time I've felt some hope since the verdict....If the industry (well, at least Vivid) rejects her, maybe other industries will too. I think she is just too toxic to touch, for anyone. Hopefully this will 'snowball'.

I'm not sure I had any respect for the industry in the first place, but to withdraw an offer and say your clientele has better taste than to have anything to do with you, IMO, is BAD. I guess they want to save whatever reputation they have. :floorlaugh:

I will be keeping extremely close tabs on any entity that extends opportunities to Casey to let them know they have officially lost my business and effectively recruited my voicebox to promote the fact they've offered to put money in her pocket.

The offer has been withdrawn. There was so much backlash. The company sent a statement that they want to make movies about things people want to see and it has become clear that no one wants to see Casey Anthony. :great: Jean C. just talked about it on Nancy Grace.

It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a movie. We want to make movies that people want to watch and we now believe that we underestimated the emotional response that people are having to the verdict. A movie starring Casey Anthony is not what people want to see.

Now...can Lifetime really come up to her now and give her an offer??? Not after a huge company retracts their offer! Vivid Entertainment rocks!! (Not that I watch movies...no seriously...I don't, but if I did, I'd watch Vivid!!)
