Casey's car: Did she intend to retrieve it from Amscot or what?

  • #61
I still don't quite understand why, if KC was driving around in this stench filled car, she herself did not pick up the odor of decomp. I would think that the odor would have clung to her clothes, her hair, etc. Why was this not noticed by anyone?

i have wondered this too...even w/ windows down, surely she had to of smelled of it., clothes, hair,ect..(my dad said dead body smells like saurkraut, but 5xs more intense..he was in 'nam, having to recover bodies in the hot vietanmese jungles..iirc)

I was going to share my opinion on this, but the above describes what I believe to be true. Thanks, BigMomma, I totally agree with you! I'm so glad JG did not go anywhere near that car.

Maybe it's just me, but the thing with the trash bag from TL ? Apt./the items that belonged to him and his roomate and calling JG to help w/the gas, along with AH and TL, to me it sort of looked like she was trying to pick one of these "friends" of hers to lay the blame on, but she stopped short of AH,and TL in a round about way. Like trying to get them all into trouble, cast the doubt off of her. Does that make sense?

This same thing would also hold true for GA and CA since they were both in and around the car long enough to pick up the odor. Maybe it's a nothing, but I've never heard GA or CA ever saying they showered before going back to work. Maybe this is why they had to tell the co-workers about the smell before they called LE.:banghead:

LE asked tony if he noticed an odor didn't they and he said he hadn't, but yes it is a little odd that she didn't smell of it.

iirc she did also ask jg to get her gas/cans as well? She knew she couldnt go back with anyone just in case her car still stunk? If she saw it was gone she couldnt report it stolen because ummm she knew what she did annnndd she also couldnt call her parents for that very same reason. That is why she left her stuff in the car. She had every intention to go back and get it. all imo.

Just MAYBE the gas cans were not to fill the tank, but to set the car ablaze & destroy all evidence! Hmmmm.

About the only thing I can think of, barring ICA changing clothes a lot (which probably wouldn't have helped, anyhow) is that maybe when she dumped the car, it was smelling just bad enough to be irritating, but not yet overwhelming. Then, as it sat in the heat at Amscot and the tow-yard, that's when the smell got completely unbearable. I dunno...

Thanks jcamille for your theory - this makes the most sense to me. However, the 'work purse' always made me think she wanted it stolen. Maybe a combo of them both. But then again, I've never understood why she asked Jesse and Amy for help with gas cans, as if she would go back to get the car. And how she got back in that area to realize it was gone (I may have missed that in the posts).

Another thing is her reaction to CA's question during the July 25th jail visit. I recently rewatched all of the original jail tapes, and noted things that stuck out to me.

Here's the link: http://www.wftv.com/video/18205452/index.html

at the 13:15 mark

(convo about not protecting family - they are all strong)

CA: I have a question for you....(kc:go'head)....how come (ch') you never got the chance to get the car....that doesn't make sense...

KC: mom....because this is recorded, and i don't know who's gonna see things, and who's gonna MISCONSCHTRUE whatever else...like I said, there's things that I directly need to say to each of you....

CA: Ok, I trust that....

KC: But Lee and I are finding other means....so.....

pause (convo about someone else being in their house)

I just don't get her reaction to that question! Thanks all for the great theories and debates here! I have severe fibro, and typing/editing is a chore most days - but I hope to join in more during the actual trial.

LOL - that's a primary method of ICA's to avoid actually discussing anything any of the "real" issues she had with disputing the evidence. She had no "good" answer to it's just a dodge game to her.

I think she most definately wanted it stolen.

ETA: Because she was going to say someone stole the car with Caylee in it, so that person would be blamed for the murder. MOO

I too agree with you that she wanted it stolen. Next to dumpster=hide the smell.

She took lots of showers. Showers are a big deal for her and laundry.

Anyhow, the jail house convo tape linked above is darn interesting..thanks..KC shakes her head (like *no*) most of the time she composes her message to Caylee for Cindy (she makes my skincrawl) to share with the media; she's shaking her head when she says to tell Caylee she loves her. These tapes are so interesting to watch again. Psycho in action.

Thanks everybody for the thoughtful posts.

I'd have to hunt it down, but I'm fairly certain George states in an interview with LE that after driving the car back to the A house, he stayed only long enough to remove the battery and "clean up" before heading back to work. I always believed that was his way of minimizing that he had to take a shower. Cindy, on the hand stayed behind longer and cleaned out the car. So I bet she had to "clean up too."

Being from Phoenix, Arizona, almost the car theft hot spot in the US...I have a question...We have Indian reservations here around town, the local police jurisdiction stops at the res border. Takes a lot longer to process police wise, dealing with different agencies and policies. SO in Florida couldn't she have driven her car to a res and dumped it, albeit with back up transportation...or hitch-hiked? Just seems weird, but then again an Arizona gal here...:)

Maybe she left it for FrankM. I just cannot let go of this guy, he's bugged me from the beginning. Perhaps she contacted him initially to chop her car for her? I'm straying into "Pontiac" thread territory, but dangit, he fits in somewhere, if not the apartment scam or the Amscot dump...

I remember Frank. He was on her phone calls that summer of 2008. I think he is the one who lived in Winter Garden and was arrested around the time she was arrested. He was in St.Augustine or Jacksonville in jail. I called the detective on his case and let him know that ICA was contacting him. He dealt in stolen car parts.

What I find interesting is the fact that the car was found by the A's on the same day that ICA would be without transportation....(all friends back from their trip.) Was this planned by the A's to pick up the car at this time? I think that the A's mailbox is located down the road somewhere in one of those boxes that holds several homes mail, am I wrong about this?? Why would the letter be in their front door and not seen by them for so long? Why was not a note from the mail carrier left in their mail box for this?? Help me out here please.....thanks

They have a front door which is not clearly seen from the driveway, it is on this door that the post office left a note that a registered letter needed to be signed at the post office. This family usually drove into their garage and entered the house that way. Is it coincidental that they found the car on the day that everyone would have their own car back and ICA would have no transportation? Wonder what would have happened that week if the car had not been retrieved. What new lies would she have spouted?

I also have a front door that is rarely used....my mailbox is down the road from our home.....If I have a registerd letter, the mail carrier leaves me a note in my mail box stating when it can be picked up at the post office......I do not think the mail carrier made the extra trip to the front door of the home.......I think this is another lie by the A's.....the mail box is for the mail.....unless the letter was sent via Fed-ex, or UPS......

There was brief discussion between Luke and DomC about him, too, but it's the last I heard of it.

I don't remember us covering him a whole lot here, he was listed in KC's phone under "Scam," IIRC and they texted back and forth in July '08. Google "Casey Anthony McKeever" for more info, don't want to list blogs that reference him, but there are quite a few.
