What I do not understand is why GMA and GPA did not call attention to the smell in the car to the responding deputies that night? They did come out.

GMA mentions the decomp smell in the 911 calls. Do we know for a fact that they didn't talk to the officers about it when they got there? I haven't read any news article that references what was actually said between the grandparents and the officers once they arrived at the Anthony's home.

But she does mention the smell in the 911 calls. Of course, she later went into denial and stated that the smell was rotting pizza!

I wonder if Casey was helping sell drugs, somehow owed the dealer money, he took caylee as ransom? And so she was out selling pills at parties to pay off her debt?

Yes - Maybe she crossed this guy and needed to pay him off. I've been thinking that the stuff she bought with the credit card was stuff that was easy to fence - stereos, tv's etcc.. - for money.
Was S. Carolina mentioned as where they thought Caylee could be?

Only for the benefit of discussion here...

IF Casey were telling parts of the truth, LE should be looking for a 20-something, hispanic female who lived in or around those apartments during the time Caylee went missing. She may not have lived there, but been a "visitor". She could also be an illegal using someone else's identity to be here. (I know from experience here, one person will lease the apartment and 20 people move in...sleeping on every inch of space available when it comes to illegal workers.)

Is it at all possible? Extremely remote...but it is possible.

S you know what bothers me about this. Did Casey ever go inside? Or did she always drop Caylee off on the curb? The unit had been vacant for 5 mths so either she lied or the mgr of the property did, in order for this to fit tight, heck even loose. If there was a Zani it could have been identity stolen, excuse me borrowed,,, any way it still goes back to what bugs me about her explanation. :waitasec:

The Patrick Burgeous visit...

at first, it didn't really seem strange to me.

But now there is something about his visit that bothers me that I can't put my finger on.

Question for you all:

Why would LE release the tape of him visiting Casey in jail to the media? Is this common practice? Any other cases where they did this? And why only release that visit and none of the others of people who have spoken with her in jail?

as per my earlier posts, i think the visit is totally weird. regardless, i think the reason that LE released this tape is because it really can only help them.

they have this seemingly random visitation (i don't think they ever believed it was random. the way he hides his face at first would be a red flag to LE). and the case is focused on college kids (and casey, of course, who didnt graduate high school), who don't appear as the most well-prepared or well-thought out. they seem, in fact, the opposite. drunk, sloppy, and all interconnected (they definitely had her phone, emails, texts, etc at this point. it was on the 24th).

all they need is one person, one random person at a random party, or someone who actually did go to middle school with them, anyone at all to say "um patrick and casey know each other." since the chances are slim that casey will take the stand, they need to offer physical evidence. the tape, being a public record that easily can be authenticated, would be a damning piece of evidence...

I so much agree with that, cheko1. And I hope she sits in jail! I just have a feeling that LE is getting ready to charge Casey. I am sure their forensics are back and hopefully they have enough to at least charge her.
LE has the phone records and the financial records. They have Casey's cell phone also. It was in a live report one day last week that they had gone to TonE's apartment and picked it up. They were reporting from outside the apartment building. Does anyone remember that?
I wonder if Casey had left any clothes over at TonE's? If she did, then I hope she left the ones she had on when she last touched Caylee. TonE had picked Casey up at the check cashing place, so maybe there was even a smell or odor to her clothes.
Being as crazy as Casey is, I so hope those clothes were there at TonE's!

I also think charges are about to be filed. Especially with her lawyer stating they have almoxst enough to make bail.
We know her folks will drop all charges against her for the CC & stealing the car.

Everyone needs to quit babying Casey & let her face reality. JMO

Her family would have to wake up and initiate this I believe. At this point I don't think a judge would grant rights to Cindy and George.

I don't understand why or what the family is attempting to do here?
What are they honestly doing to attempt to find Caylee?
Do they expect someone to call them on the phone & say we have Caylee? I don't get it....

They all need to start at the jail & each of them take time to talk to Casey. I heard lastnight that they said the family only has to raise a little more money to get her released from jail. I bet before the ink is dried on the papers they put murder charges on her.

What CAN the family do to find Caylee?

They have NO clue where to even begin looking.


I also think LE probably has a warrant for Casey's arrest on murder charges IF her family bails her out.

I also wonder if the only reason the family IS talking about working hard to bail her out is because LE asked them to keep her as calm as possible & more open to telling someone the truth? Supposedly they were ready to bail her out on Friday.... why didn't they?

Ok I am new to this forum and I may be wrong, but if Caylee is still alive, wouldn;t the correct sentence be "Tony HAS nothing to do with Caylee"? Casey saying he HAD nothing to do with Caylee sounds as if she is talking about Caylee in the past tense.

You are right, yanknrebel! That is a very strange statement. TonE had stated that he last saw Caylee on June 2nd when she was over with Casey at his apartment complex pool.
I think it sounds as if she is saying that in past tense as well! Good find!

This has also been my experience with some jail phone systems, but not others. Some forbid/block call-forwarding, some don't. One thing my son was able to do was call someone on a land line and then have that person "conference" in the person who only had a cell phone. Then the person on the land line would hang up, allowing my son to talk to the person on the cell.

The person I knew who was incarcerated spent time in two different facilities. In the first one, he was not allowed to call cell phones, no call forwarding or conferencing was allowed. I think he could call whomever he wanted and had as many minutes as he could pay for.

In the second facility, they didn't have any problems with cell phones. Call forwarding was okay. But he was only allowed 300 minutes a month. And he could only call people from an approved list, and it took about a week to get someone approved to be on that list.

They're to far into denial & it will never happen. Would be nice if the judge would take her parental tights away for not co-operating with LE & leaving Caylee in danger.

Another good defense question i think. Cindy said the officer's walked past the car not saying anything and she had the car airing out? This would be jun 15th. but how close the officers were or ever got is another question.

According to Granny, the shovel incident happened after the car came back. I heard that with my own ears and may just have the video on that one. But then Granny had an answer for everything.

Although the neighbor reports that Casey backed the car into the driveway, which was unusual. I don't know if a date was ever revealed.

Casey would know where the key was for the shed as she lived in that house for a long time. It is probably hanging somewhere in the kitchen. But she borrowed the shovel (like Cesar Lauren did) so as not to have any DNA on the house shovel.

the bolded part doesn't even make sense. the shovel was borrowed by casey. they called 911 the same day they got the car back correct, or at least very soon after. so when did casey borrow the shovel? between gmom's 911 calls gmom said oh before LE comes would you mind digging up the bamboo or whatever it was.:waitasec:

You are so correct. My son's friend was jailed in Florida and could not call a cell phone even with money in the account. Either a land phone or no call at all. Although the person in jail had a friend do a three-way call to the person with a cell phone and they connected that way.

I have a feeling if a phone call went through to Tony it would already be on the news!

I think it must depend on the jail and the cell phone company...
my daughter has received collect calls from her soon to be x that is in jail
on her cell phone. (She did not accept the calls )

Cheko - I so agree with this. Gma's spouting of everything Casey tells her is heartbreaking in my opinion. Gma, Gpa and Lee know something is seriously wrong and they know Casey is lying. Lee so far, is the only to speak up to Casey. I understand Gma's position, she is trying to stay on Casey's good side so Casey will talk, but the bottom line is, they need to hold Casey accountable. They should not be trying to raise her bail. They should not be re-telling her lies to the media and the public. They should be drawing the line with Casey. Talk, tell everything that has happened, everyone you talked to, everyone you saw up to the day the police became involved. Start talking. AND yes, we DO NOT BELIEVE YOU! How can we? We smelled dead body in the car, Caylee is missing, you claim Zannie the babysitter has her, but for all we know Zannie is short for some drug all the clubbers use. Casey - you need to talk! We are paying for an attorney to defend you, but you know what, we are going to pull the plug on him too, if you don't start telling us something that is believable.

No more spinning....... Casey you need to talk.

I do not the believe the public will contribute to a defense fund if they believe Casey did something to that baby. And right now, there is nothing else to believe. There is nothing to indicate she got mixed up in something over her head or illegal. Only her "clubbing" behavior. Not enough in my opinion.

I am not sure if this has already been mentioned, I just started reading through the posts.

Couldn't the grandmother be arrested for lying to police or obstructing justice? I think a few hours in a jail cell would be enough to make that woman start talking. There is clearly something so wrong with her (I personally think she is a hard-core drinker from her appearance/behavior) -- and keeping her away from family and with some real criminals may make her start talking.

arguably, yes. but she is not intentionally or fraudulently leading LE in the wrong direction. cindy wants caylee found more than anything. and LE has already said they dont think she is involved with anything, they think she is just distraught and clinging to the last ounce of hope she can.

i guess the way i look at her, is that it is much easier to believe, even if it is microscopic .000001% chance that your adored granddaughter is somewhere out there alive and your f-ed up daughter is innocent, than to actually face reality. she is not doing casey any favors here, but i think she is well-intentioned. and i think its more like a mental and emotional defense at this point...

Just wanted to note that, and my apologies if it's been posted, the Orlando Sentinel doesn't have Caylee's story as front page today. I just logged on so I haven't had time to catch up with you guys; but, I went to the Sentinel to update and noticed this. Not really good when the media loses interest in a story. Caylee still isn't home but I think the general public is so tired of her family's "shennigans" that they avoid news involving the family.
