Which article is this? Do you have a link?

I believe it's poorly written and it's meant to say the break-in happened around the time the last time Caylee was believed to have been heard (if JG's account is correct) as that supposedly happened the 24th and the gas can break in was between the 24-26th.

It was confirmed to be gas cans.

Did they say they took ONLY gas cans and nothing else?

IMO they took gas cans, but they also took items that may provide samples of Caylee's DNA -- possibly items that provide Casey's DNA as well.

IMO the gas cans are a diversion.

Police came on air to say it is confirmed or the news media?

Not a very well written article. But numerous comments indicate that it was gas cans. Padilla made a statement about them.

(snip)
Bags removed by crime-scene investigators from the home of the grandparents of a missing Orlando girl contained gasoline cans that will apparently be fingerprinted, Local 6 has learned.

The gas cans -- once believed to have been inside the trunk of Casey Anthony's car (who is the mother of missing Caylee) -- have already been scrutinized heavily by forensic technicians.

"The only think right now detectives are things that maybe it was taken for the car," Orange County sheriff's investigator Lt. Carlos Padilla said.

Well, there were only two bags shown being removed from the house. And there were two gas cans removed.....

I highly doubt all the press left the Anthony's to go to the presser. Someone would have noticed anything else taken from the house.

"Personal need of the Anthony family, as directed by Lee Anthony"......spit!

Evidently, they have no friends or family willing to play the game directed by Casey.

The officers written statement is correct. I think he put the wrong date at the top of the form.

Read that one too! Souces said, Channel 6, 2, 9, 13, learned. They also use "local" investigators learned. Local investigators to me are the journalists looking around. I watched the entire briefing yesterday too!

Can't ignore Padillas statement though.

I think a FL sleuth should sign up to help and post on here from inside their house;)

  • #296

I didn't hear Padilla state they took the gas cans or have the gas cans or checking the gas cans.

  • #297
There was "Nanny" and now they want "Personal Assistants" ! Hey I would like those positions also. Any volunteers?

(Sorry - I couldn't resist commenting.)

ACK--PUH-LEEEEZZ......

No compensation for these positions. They have no shame when they are asking for handouts. Wonder why none of the family friends has volunteered? This is not Hollywood. They do not need "personal assistants". These folks have no shame. Go ask your friends to help for free!

For God's sake. You would need a resume befitting of someone applying for Donald Trump to get the "UNCOMPENSATED" position with Lee Anthony. Ugh.

The cans could have been taken to compare the gas in the car to gas in the cans. If there is a difference between them, say an additive or something like that, it would show that the gas in the cans was not used to fuel the car. Somewhere I heard that LE was requesting or using a "scent machine" yesterday in forensics testing but I cannot, for the life of me, remember where I heard this. If so, it would be something like a Cyranose 320. This machine can "smell" things the human nose can't and tell the chemical composition of material. Also, the soil found in the car may have been found to have DNA in it. Soil found in the trunk of the car that matches soil in the yard would not be unusual and easily explained away. Soil with Caylee's DNA that matches the yard and was found in the trunk would not. It would definately link her body to that residence.

I am speechless with the "want ads" on MySpace for the family.
