Why do you think Jose is backing away?

I dont think it has anything to do with what he believes, I think it has to do with his Client and her parents are not taking his advice, in which case he would be absolutely correct to withdraw

I agree. Since when is someone sitting behind bars pressed for time to do anything? Is she only allowed pen and paper during "rec" time? I'd bet LE would be giving her ample rec time if the thought she may be writing a letter with more clues or even a confession.

Rec time.. puh-lease.

Newbie here. This site & all of you folks are amazing.
I just wanted to add that My husband has worked in Corrections for 19 years.
He said that Casey has NOTHING BUT TIME to write her supposed letter.

Okay, this has probably been discussed ad nauseum, but my time to read is limited and this case has moved at lightening speed.... but two things that I have wondered about. One, I'm confused what she's claiming about the Sims card for the phone. How can she have the sims card from the phone that she claims she lost? Isn't that from inside the phone itself? Or am I just confused?

Also, did anyone else notice the story about her claimed call from Caylee on the 15th, one version she said the number was private, yet at one point she also said the number was now disconnected. I think both statements were from the released phone calls she had with Lee. Did anyone else get that?

She claimed she switched the SIM card out of the blackjack phone BEFORE losing the blackjack. She claimed the babysitter's number was stored on the blackjack phone's memory, not the SIM card. She said she used the SIM card in her new phone.

Yes, she was caught in another blatant lie about the phone call. She said the number was private in the 911 call, but told Lee it was disconnected.

The blackjack didn't hold a charge so Casey had removed the SIM card to put in her other phone which did.

Yes, that is a discrepancy. You cannot return a call to a private listed number. However, she could have meant she tried the other numbers she had for her and they were the ones disconnected.

Liltigress: "She is crying inside and broken hearted," George Anthony said. "She said, 'Dad, I want to be home for her birthday."

Me, me, me, me! SHE wants to be home for Caylee's birthday. What about wanting CAYLEE home for her own damn birthday!!! They seriously make me ill.

Nedthan: The more this family talks, the more dysfunction we can detect. I was wondering over the weekend, why George (a retired Sheriff) had not questioned his daughter until this weekend. And why not ONE member of that family has walked away with a sketch of this so called babysitter, or one piece of evidence that can help investigators. I believe investigators were hoping by news conference last week that by putting pressure on the family and Casey she may crack. Now they can see that she holds the cards and has been manipulating her family for years. Casey has complete control and it appears her entire family has chosen to cover for her. Casey's only response was she is close, really close, and George is still hopefull??!! What the H##. These parents have been treating this woman like a child for years. What about telling their daughter that she is in some serious trouble and may be facing murder charges? what about asking her for a description of Zenida? What about asking them if anyone else has met her?

The STAR prosecution witness for this case is going to be Tony. Could be why Casey was so eager to speak with him.

Exactly.

Analyzing his exact words what he is really doing is inventing an emotion that isn't there...its "inside"...not something that can be seen...it's his own way of rationalizing his daughter's lack of emotion or caring about her missing child...he has to tell himself that the emotion exists...just that nobody can see it.

Both phones would have had SIM cards. Where's the other one?

But I know that the people on here have found some interesting things about people she associated with. She just acts like she knows Caylee is ok and knows that they aren't goin to find any evidence of her death and that's why she's so confident. That just blows my mind. She's way too confident and cool headed. Is she detached emotionally from Caylee...yes...or so it seems, but did she kill her in cold blood...I still can't say I buy that yet. Was Casey involved in something really huge and illegal that involved a lot of people...it is VERY possible. I do also think she is enjoying the pain Cindy is in over this missing baby. She used Caylee as a weapon against Cindy and that's obvious. I just think this case is unlike the others we have seen...and the whole "CSI" type of theories are not so unlikely in this case. I think the best one I have heard is that she is with the biological fathers family who has a Zenaida relative OR that Zenaida was an illegal who Casey owed lots of money too....and all her lies, I think she could just be covering her own butt to keep her from getting in trouble from something else really bad she was involved in. JMO..."

Regardless of which side we stand on...Casey did it or Casey was involved in something way deeper...Casey knows the truth and she needs to start talking! This has gone on long enough...

Couldn't the smell have stayed with the car from 6/15 even a day or two later? Maybe she was only borrowing the shovel for the lock and the gasoline that day...not to rebury anything. The dirt on the shovel may not match the soil samples in the Anthony yard or trunk at all.

I think under your theory she died at the house, so the decomp smell would have had to come from "removing" the remains. Also, how does the Arm and Hammer issue come into play?

What is the Arm and Hammer issue? Is that the cleaning fluid George claimed caused the smell combined with pizza?

That is what is troubling to me the most. If you buy that the moving of her body, which is pretty credible via the dog hits, occurred between 6/23 and 6/27 then you have to buy that she dug up a body that could have been buried for 2 weeks. I just feel there would be alot more physical evidence in that case, - I guess it comes down to the stain?
Couple that with I truly think she was locked out of that house-

The thought of her moving the body makes me sick. I just can't imagine looking at your child's decomposing body. I wouldn't even be able to look at my child to ID her. I'd have to have someone else do it or just rely on DNA.

If her information was all on the one card, what difference does it make?

During his on-cam interview with Orlando Salinas on Fox yesterday, George talked about Arm & Hammer laundry detergent, a trash bag, and an old pizza.

In the affidavit it says that she called the number back, IIRC.. it is a blatant lie. Unless you ask Mike Walsh, in which case it is a statment made under emotional duress (yak)

Also, she mentions that there were 3 diff area codes that this zannynonnanny called her from- what's the explanation for that?

Isnt there anyone on here that has gotten to her cell phone records already??

Why do you think Jose is backing away?

Just basing on his latest, motion to withdraw and new co-counsel, and his absence in the media compared to the beginning of this case. He's making himself scarce. I'm sure he knows the media and LE are dissecting every word out of all their mouths.

I don't know about the Arm and Hammer issue either. I must have missed that conversation somewhere. :waitasec:

liti- what motion to w/d are you referring to? Did I miss that?

IIRC George referred to one particular picture and said that one was from when she was pregnant 3 years ago.

But he did try to lead public to believe that none of the photos taken were since Caylee has been missing.. Does he think we are stupid?
It makes me wonder what kind of policeman he was. The things he throws out there are not convincing to us or LE. Unless he's doing/saying these things to keep Casey believing they are "on her side" there seems to be no rational explanation for what he says other than trying to protect his daughter. And that....he can't do. She's going to have to face the consequences for whatever she has done.

I knew he had new co-counsel, but I had NO idea that he filed a motion to withdraw. Hmmn
