blink, i heart you. but, legally at least, an attorney cannot accept future rights in a book or movie deal for the case he or she is currently working on. you can accept them for another endeavor, but not for the case you are taking future rights for in payment...
i think he may be working on a partial retainer, but i really don't know.
Respectfully, that is true, but the structure of such an agreement in spirit is possible. For example, he can take the case pro bono for now, and with an established transition to fee or "options" as of an open ended date or occurrence. Pro Bono thru conclusion or plea of criminal matter, and of course there is the issue of the state potentially subsidizing him in order to keep the "level playing field" of the State's case, which could be a factor, on that I am not an expert in Fla code..
I heart you too BD, but I think your saying the structure has to comply, which I agree with, but the reality is this "Esquire" has already got more press in his career in 3 weeks than most defense attorney's receive over a lifetime, he will benefit and he's no dum dum..
