I agree with this. In the first call it sounds like Cindy finally, after a month, was able to confront Casey about stealing the car and the money and then, when she kept pushing Casey to tell her where Caylee was, Cindy admitted that she'd been "missing" for a month. Cindy is an emotional wreck in that second call, there's no way she had anything to do with Caylee's disappearance. I don't think she's covering for Casey now, I think she really NEEDS to believe that Casey didn't do anything to harm Caylee. Her mind can't accept the alternative.

ITA - Cindy desperately wants to believe that her daughter didn't harm Caylee.

A couple things I heard in the calls:

  • in the first call, she states that she had already spoken to an officer and that he told her to call LE when she got to her house and they would send an officer out. And that's what she's doing - calling now from home.

  • in the first call she does state that her daughter can't tell her where her granddaughter is, but the 911 operator kind of ignores that and goes on to ask her detailed questions about the car and what Casey is wearing, etc. Petty things. The 911 operator calmly gets to the missing child late in the call.

  • it's clear from the second call that they are still waiting on an officer to show up and that in between the two calls, Casey has "admitted" that Caylee has been missing for a long time.

  • I think that when the GMA gives the earlier date in June, it was truly a mistake - she wasn't lying on purpose. She sounded very worked up and she was probably confused. Even if she remembered that she had seen Caylee on Father's Day - Father's Day came late this year. I do not think she purposely lied about the date.

  • I can see where the GMA has not wanted the press to ask her too much about her daughter, because she is worried if the media found out how Casey stole the car and money, etc., they will pay less attention the fact that a child is missing. That's just reality - the media goes gaga over a beautiful missing white woman, but hardly covers it when a prostitute goes missing. This GMA desperately wants the media to get the word out about Caylee because she believes she is still alive.

furthermore, there were TWO separate dogs that hit on the SAME spots.

Perhaps we can all agree in our sandbox that regardless, the dogs did hit, from 2 seperate counties in 2 seperate areas, used seperately, and it was enough to secure a $500K Bond so it would appear it carries a great deal of weight with the court?

I hate when that happens, sorry.
I want to know your thoughts!
For me, this PROVES she did not know Caylee was missing, I get that, it also cements my opinion that she is hurriedly trying to cover her after the fact..
Note she says the car smells like there was a dead body in it, not "GP picked up the car and it had pizza and maggots.."
There was never rotting pizza in that car, it was in their garbage and for me that very lie means they are involved in covering up what has happened to Caylee, imo, I maintain they did not know until this day..

FWTW, I think you are right, Blink34. I think that Caylee's body was in that car and then was placed in the very back corner of the back yard that night, then moved at a later time.

I think GPA decided to put the garbage in the trunk hoping to permeate the 'rotten pizza smell' to divert from the 'death' smell. (make sense?)
I think GMA is so upset in the 911 call about the smell in the car because they were having to remove the body from the trunk.

Flame away, but that is what I think. Only Casey harmed the child, or the child accidentally died, but GPA handled hiding the body.

I think we know why LE released this tape now. The main point being that Cindy admits the car smells like decomp...which is in direct contradiction to what she has been saying publicly. It also shows both of their demeanors which tells us alot.

I'm still wrestling with whether I think Cindy really knows the details about what happened to Caylee or not. I don't see how she can really believe she is alive after admitting to the odor in the car. But IMO she is headed for a breakdown.

I agree - She is in denial until she "sees" Caylee. This is gonna cause a major breakdown in her.

:bang:Hi - I am new here so please forgive me if this is old news...We get the released 911 calls in which GM reveals it smells like a dead body...Did I not see her ealier on Fox proclaiming that with her nursing background and husband's LE background - they KNEW what decomp smelled like and that it was only pizza...(?)

Perhaps every member of that family needs to take a deep breath and come out with what they DO know...

Just my opinion - you all have done a great job on this board - glad to me a new member!

Peace -
Raelynn

welcome:)

& yes,....huuuuuge turn-around on the smell in the car:rolleyes:

After listening to the 2nd 911 call I think alot of us, including myself have done Cindy a dis-service. I don't believe she had anything to do with harming Caylee. I am not even sure I think she is covering up but she desperately wants to believe the child is alive. She did call the police and tell them about the dead body smell and was in horrible grief on the 2 911 calls. She was livid at this daughter. She may be in 'save the daughter mode' now since then but I don't think she had anything to do with hiding a body or anything. This Casey has major problems.

Wanted to make sure we weighed in on this:

As she says that the car smells like it had a dead body in it- doesnt that mean to us that they made up the pizza story?? And if you buy they made that up, they are covering for her now, which is wrong..
Why would she say it smells like a dead body if they found the pizza in the trunk as they said..

If you lie about the pizza your lying about or maintaining Casey's lies about the rest?

That 2nd 911 call is unbelievable. What is wrong with that Casey???

oh my!....so you think Caylee's body was in the car the day they drove it home?.....i'm confused

yes, of course they made up the pizza story....that's obvious to me anyway....they started covering for Casey almost immediately after she was arrested...

I do smell an obstruction charge for Cindy. Not sure about the rest of the family yet.
