If this is the conversation I'm thinking of, I thought Casey was incredulously repeating what she had just seen her mother say on TV... (to her mom): you "don't know what my involvement in this is??!!" I took it as she couldn't believe her mother would doubt her. Did you not take it that way?

Tracey, that is the way I took it, because of a similar conversation in the past with a person like Casey. Thank God there was no child involved at the time, though. My husband's psycho daughter stole a credit card from me. It wasn't hard for me to figure out. In fact I had her and a few of her friends join us for dinner after (I found out later) their little shopping spree. They sat right there and smiled in my face and thanked me for dinner. A few days later her father confronted her about the card and she said in her little girl voice "And you think I did that, Daddy?" When the charge slips were given to me they were signed in her own handwriting, no attempt even to disguise it.

So yes, I took it that way. Once you have had one of these people come into your life, you will understand.

I have pretty good intuition and something tells me this is what Casey thought when she got up this morning.

I'm a superstar, I'm more popular right now than my idols, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. I'm all over the TV, I'M FAMOUS!!!! It's about time I start getting the attention I deserve. Everyone hates me because they are jealous. Everyone hates you when your famous. I think I need to hire me an agent.

To a BPD person like Casey. Attention is good, rather it's positive or negative.

They love attention and we do things to get attention even if it is negative. Possibly one of the reasons that Caylee is missing now. Take away the baby and get GM ticked off. Now GM has to pay attention to me. Me first. Me first. Opps, where the devil did I put Caylee.

Ok ya'll can foo foo me if you want.. but have we considered that to get back at the GPs Caylee's mom told one of her BIG ONES that got out of hand ...like you need to take Caylee underground they are abusing her & they are threating to take her from me... & I will never win they are so powerful..please help me save my baby....

Will somebody give me a thought!! I have been thinking about this for days..

I hope she got a flat rate. I also hope her parents let HER spend the rest of her life paying that bill.

Btw, I love your avatar & stole it to use also. If you have any objections, let me know & I'll remove it. :)

I got my avatar from another WSer, i can't take the credit for it...she said anyone could use it!

Exactly. Why is everyone at this point, surprised that Caylee is still missing? That Casey has a defense lawyer? That the grandparents aren't looking for Caylee?

The last LE statement was that there was no evidence of kidnapping. Is that LE's way of saying "search is off"??

And what is IT??
The slow and methodical breaking down of Casey Anthony.

Did you hear Leonard in the winnebago talk about searching for a body should that prove to be the case? He was pretty matter-of-fact about it, which made me re-evaluate all his comments about believing Caylee is still alive. I'm not at all sure he isn't saying one thing while planning for an entirely different scenario.

Could you provide a link to that Dershowitz quote? I'm not saying that Dershowitz never said that. But it would surprise me if he did. Thank you.

_________
Every defendant is entitled to a defense. Even a defendant that is entirely guilty of whatever he or she is charged with. Not only must the prosecution prove all of the elements of the crime, but it must do so in a manner that is procedurally proper. These procedural safeguards, founded in due process, are all that prevents the government from disappearing its' citizens --US!-- at will and without a shred of cause. The number of strong cases against a defendant that have been thrown out of court because of prosecutorial misconduct are too many too count.

"Almost all criminal defendants -- including most of my clients -- are factually guilty of the crimes they have been charged with. The criminal lawyer's job, for the most part, is to represent the guilty, and -- if possible -- to get them off."

I'm sure this is boring to many, but on the other hand, so are the hundreds and hundreds of repetitive posts here about how Baez is a bad guy because he's defending his client, and because Baez has the nerve to challenge LE.

(Disclaimer: I think Casey did it, but I don't feel that I have to say this in order to defend this post).

That is why I think most criminal attys are without ethics - to defend someone who is guilty is just plain old-fashioned wrong. To try to prove innocence where none exists......And that's what the high-profile attys try to do. "Scott Peterson is stone-cold innocent." I believe in defending the civil rights and getting a fair trial, but I do NOT believe in letting murderers go free.

Instead of a drugstore.......the kidnapper could take Caylee to a church and hand her over to a priest or pastor......I don't think priests or pastors can be compelled to testify, but I could be wrong. That's IF she was kidnapped, I don't buy it.

He said last night on Greta that the difference between him and LE is that:

HE (BH) is searching for Caylee alive

and

LE is searching for Caylee deceased.

True, and they can shop for fresh milk and new tires while they're at it.

Good advice. I hope the Kidnappers take it to heart.

And the security cameras were mentioned, and I understand that but...if they go to a WalMart in FL (hoping) then they could probably hide behind an umbrella. Heck, wouldn't have to be FL for that. And if an umbrella doesn't work, maybe a paper bag or something.

I wonder who the winner will be?

Those kidnappers must all be chemistry majors too, in order for them to be able to replicate the smell of a decomposing human body in the trunk of Casey's car. Yes, very sophisticated kidnappers, I'd say.

No LE has had "these people" under any kind of surveillance anywhere. It is not a sensitive issue when it comes to hiding a child in a nationwide manhunt for that child. If LE anywhere on this planet KNEW where Caylee Anthony was being kept...she would be in custody immediately where they could guarantee her safety.

The public would be notified as soon as they had her in a safe place. There would be no delay. They would be simultaneously working to issue warrants, pursue other people, and to track down every trace of evidence of the people responsible for her going missing including Casey. They have NO reason to keep it quiet for Gosh sakes!!

No one has ANY right to Caylee right now except Law Enforcement. She is considered missing plus in clear and immediate danger. This would supercede anything that anyone else produces to state otherwise (which they could not have anyway since no paperwork has been filed as to transfering custody from the mother).

I agree. Who intimidates the FBI?

IMO - and you all know this by now Caylee is alive.

Declaring a winner and a loser in this instance is not actually proper. IMO

Because superstars always wear towels draped artfully over their faces. I wonder if she was holding her head up high under the terrycloth.

It might be. One can't say for certain because LE is not obligated to tell the truth about their ongoing investigation. But if you're asking for my opinion, I would say that LE is working primarily under the assumption that Caylee is dead. This wouldn't necessarily mean that a search is off. LE would still want to search for Caylee's body. But it might mean that they are not seriously searching for kidnappers.

A criminal defense attorney, like Baez, could handle the transfer of the child without being compelled to reveal anyone's identity. The transfer is not the problem. The imaginary people that have her are the problem.

Very well could be what someone like Casey and BPD would do.
My sister set up a fake suicide. Turned the gas on, took the pills, had the half empty bottle of booze sitting there for added effect. Had it timed down to the mnuete when the elctric meter reader would show up on his regualr route to come in and save. The family flocked around her, her ex-boyfriend moved back in etc. Got her lots of attention. This was only one of many things she did over the years. Took the family years to figure out what was gong on. Heck some us still don't talk to each other becasue of the arguments my sister casued between people.

She wasn't kidnapped, Casey has told about a 1000 lies so far, obviously because she did something to Caylee.
