The neighbor has not given an interview, but IIRC, the neighbor said that she/he was working outside at the time (could remember more precisely if planting something bought that day etc.) and Casey came over an borrowed the shovel. The neighbor went inside to shower and when she/he returned about an hour later, the shovel had been returned.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Right. He was working in the yard.
Maybe Casey went in his yard to borrow something else. She was surprised to find him in the yard, asked to borrow the shovel that was in plain view and hightailed it back home. Just a guess.

I live in NYC as well. The KMart near Penn Staion sells these pre-paid phones and you take them to the check out line and pay for them. Period. No personal info asked for. NYC does NOT have any 'hyped up security' w/ regard to cell phones of any kind. The reason contract phones require all that information is because they want you to be accountable to pay for the continuation of the phone service. It has absolutely nothing to do w/ 'security'.

Chris: I am only going on my personal experience and experience of friends who have ALWAYS had to provide ID for a Simm..that is all I am saying.

Hyped up security may have been a bit dramatic but I do know for instance we used to be able to unlock cell phones and now its against the law in NY (you can still find people to do it, but its harder than it used to be) And maybe its' because we don't have a plethora of Kmarts and walmarts etc at our disposal that i have always bought a simm at a cell phone store where they have 100% of the time always made me provide ID and SOC# .......

I admitted that I was wrong that is all....

And IIRC, Padilla said in a Fox video from way back when, that they are looking at June 15th as the date Caylee went missing.

And lets not forget that the 15th/16th is also when they left without warning per grandma's blog. To me that's indicative of no major blow up or anything in the house. Life was pretty cushy for Casey there. Oh sure, she may have been hounded with rules and such. But the only explanation I can come up with her suddenly leaving is the fact she could not explain Caylee's absence to her parents if Casey was still living there. That IMO, is the first sign that a crime had been commited and when Casey went on the run.

ETA: gma didn't state the date in the blog. I'm getting that from a combination of the blog and recent statements from the GP's.

ITA - left without warning = couldn't stay at home with Cindy & George because she had no explanation for where Caylee is. Remember, after June 16th, she was telling her friends that Caylee was with the nanny or that Caylee was with her parents. She was telling her parents that Caylee was with the nanny. To me, the fact that she was telling her friends that Caylee was with her parents = Caylee's gone.

I think she had the baby's body in the trunk from the 16th/17th through the 24th-27th. I think that the only reason why she would leave her car behind, when she obviously needed transprtation to and from the clubs, is because she could not get rid of the smell. She most likely left it with her purse on the front seat in hopes that it would be stolen and she could blame the whole thing on a carjacking, not realizing that it would be towed instead of stolen. Drats, foiled again! Oh well, back to the Nanny story. Quick, someone, hand me a phonebook and map.

This is what I mean the Anthonys are trying to keep their laundry out of the media and why sometimes they come across as being deceptive.

Yes, that is what I have been thinking. I was annoyed at first when Beth (NH's mother) did the same thing. You would have thought that Natalee was without a blemish. Beth described her like that to get the public's sympathy to help look for her. I think Cindy did the same to try and keep the light off Casey and the family dynamics so the focus would be on Caylee.

respectfully snipped...

Grandma's blog was written on July 3rd and did not refer to any dates...

I caught that and did an ETA: to explain that I got that from a combo of Grandmas blog and recent statements from the GP's. I tried to edit quickly, sorry for the confusion.

You are correct.....plain and simple.

I can understand them wanting to keep their dirty laundry out of the press, but they seem to be hiding it from LE, too. That is inexcusable. When your grandchild is missing, there is no room for pride, shame, etc. You have to tell ALL!

IMO George can not have it both ways, car didn't smell on the 24th but he got the gas cans. I can not get to both of these things being true. Caylee was not found in the car on July 15th. The car was left on the 27th. I just can't get there.

There is a reason why noone is hearing from Amy, Ricardo, JP, Jesse and Tony. They must be working with LE to nail down where Casey was staying and what she was driving on every day fron June 16th - July 15th. Amy was willing to rat Casey out to Cindy on the very day that she returned from her trip to PR; she was surely sick of her crap. JP, Ricardo and Tony were probably all sick of her crashing at their homes as well and when they realized that Caylee was missing and not just at Cindy and George's during that month, then I bet they started talking too. I do still see it as a possibility that Jesse knows more than he is telling and it may be connected to his leave from LE. I think that the truth will come out as soon as all of the puzzle pieces are fit together to create a solid case without that poor baby girl's body. :(

In the affidavit, it was Tony who called Amy and urged her to talk to LE. I think that when they all - Tony, Amy, JP, Ricardo - put two and two together, they've all been cooperative with LE.

I don't know what to make of Jesse. In that one brief video interview, he was clearly not happy with Casey, and when asked by the reporter if he thought she could have harmed Caylee, Jesse declined to say. He took a middle of the road position on that.

I think Jesse is separate from the others - he's older by a few years and I don't think Tony, Amy, and the others are part of his circle of friends.

Very good point! Her statements contradict each other and prove Caylee wasn't, for a better term, anywhere that would require a babysitter. Thanks for pointing that out.

very plausible and rings true. but the car would have smelled profusely rather quickly. People would have noticed the smell. thats why I always felt the Casey hid Caylees body somewhere went back and got it, put her in the trunk, got rid of her. That is why 11 days elapsed between Caylee being gone and Amscott. She abandoned that car very close to the day that she got rid of Caylees body even not that very day. She could have moved her more than once too. Gruesome but always a possiblility.

I still wonder if she put the body in a freezer somewhere....for a while and then when back to the Grandparents house...

There is no proof that Casey was at the house and that he was in the car on the 24th, just his word. That story could be how he accounts for removing the gas cans on the 15th when he obviously smelled decomp. He is not stupid, he added up the evidence quickly and started removing evidence as a gut reaction to protecting his daughter.

The big difference here, however, is that Casey is the prime suspect in her daughter's disappearance. And the focus needs to be on Casey, as such.

She hid her and then moved her on the 27th. I have always felt very strongly about that. The 11 day lapse tells me that. That car didn't smell on the 24th (if we believe George) so Casey moved Caylee from wherever she hid her body on the 27th and then dumped the car.

Maggots are a bad bad sign.

I never felt that happened. I don't know why.....just never did. Too risky.

I discussed a little bit the other night if Casey had access to a freezer somewhere other than the Anthony's, if they have one that is. A thought ran through my mind regarding Cindy's 81 year old mother. Where does she live? Does she own a freezer? And could Casey have been able to slip in and out of her house unnoticed?

Another thing I've thought of is the possibility of an ice chest being used. That would buy you time, but not for long.

One of the difficulties of figuring out the actions and motives of people like Casey is that we are trying to use logic, and a lot of times logic does not apply to their thinking.

E.g. her leaving the car without gaz could be as simple as wanting to make Tony come and get her. Manipulation. I am just saying it as an example.

All these puzzle pieces like the gaz cans, why she left the car, the shovel, the pool ladder if it was moved, the police will fit them in their case much later. When they will know what Casey did and when. Then these little pieces will have a meaning when the LE will be explaining their case against Casey in court.

For now I think their number one priority is to establish a certain date for when something happened to the child and Casey's movements/whereabouts after that. The friends and her cell phone must be their main focus right now. My personal opinion of course as always.

There is also something else we don't know. For example prosecutors argued that Scott Peterson killed his wife when the date of giving birth to their child approached and he didn't want his life as a golden boy to change, and when he met another women and wanted to have a new life. What happened with Casey? There could be a trigger that we have no idea about but the police must be surely looking for. Did the parents push her to move out and get a job? Did the boyfriend was travelling a lot and Casey wanted to be free to follow him in his trips? I mean things like that. If they can't find a possible motive or trigger then they move back to the accident theory again.

It would have slowed the decomp too much, I think... but I think Caylee's body was someplace else until the 27th.... Honestly, if it was just in the trunk.... there would be DNA all OVER the place....unless she were in a container or something....

This is so sick... I cannot imagine anyone let alone a victim's mother doing this...
