Pittsburggirl while I agree with your statement about Jacyee Dugard and her stepfather not being responsible is correct however I do not recall him ever being accused as a matter of fact I beleive he gave chase on a bicycle but was unable to catch up with the car as well the abduction was witnessed by fellow classmates and he was quickly cleared as a suspect, the actions of Ron Cummings and Misty Cummings Croslin and Casey Anthony are completely diffrent from those of Dugards step father, as far as I know Duggard's step father cooperated with LE, while none of these players have. Duggard's stepfather gave useful information such as a discription of the car and those responsible, while these players have continiously tried to foil the efferts of LE as well as volunteers to the point of making threats...... My point is that it is unfair to compare these two cases to Jaycees case.

As far as the statement of pure speculation, you are also correct, because at this point we have nothing else. There are not any hard facts in Haleighs case, and honestly there aren't many hard core facts in Caylees case, and that alone is a comparison. The facts as known in Caylees case are... Caylee was last in the care of CA. CA did not report her missing for 31 days, for 31 days CA partied and acted as though nothing was wrong, once the fact of Caylee being missing was known CA lied and those around her lied....... In Haleigh's case she was last known in the care of Misty, Misty did not report her missing until Ron came home, Since her disappearance Misty and Ron have partied and acted as if nothing is wrong, and when ever confronted with the facts they lie and those around them lie, SO take it as you will... The comparison's are obvious to me. Just sayin

Hi, butterfly. Thanks for the response.

The facts in Caylee's case start with the body, which is always the best evidence. There is also physical evidence from the Anthony home and from the car. So in that case there are an abundance of facts. As I said in my post, Casey's partying shows MOTIVE, which is really not comparable to whatever Ron Cummings has been up to (I really don't know what he did in his spare time, other than selling drugs and appearing on TV.) It don't think he killed Haleigh so he could party. I don't think anyone in Haleigh's bio family has "acted as if nothing is wrong." It wasn't that long ago that Tim Miller's attorney said on NG in regard to the reputed gun incident that Ron Cummings is distraught over Haleigh's disappearance.

There may well have been a delay of some hours before Misty reported Haleigh missing. But that is not remotely comparable to waiting 30 days to report a missing child, which is just bizarre in the extreme.

Most of your points would be true of many cases where children have disappeared. Parents and stepparents/significant others are always the first suspects because most homicides of all types are not committed by strangers. Children have favorites toy, blankets, etc. People caught up in criminal cases lie all the time--and not just the people who are guilty of murder. They lie to cover up things they don't want other people to know about (e.g., infidelity, drug use, etc.) The only thing I care about is whether the people involved are lying about what they know about the missing child. With Casey, that is demonstrably the situation. According to LE and common sense, Misty is lying about what she knows. I'm still not sure about RC. It's possible that it is all Misty and her various relatives and druggie friends. But time will tell.

I wasn't comparing either of these cases to Jaycee Dugard's--only making the point that parents and stepparents can be suspects for years when they had nothing to do with a disappearance. Here are links to articles regarding Carl Probyn and his status as a suspect:

He also shared that the kidnapping was the reason he and Jaycee’s mother’s marriage broke up. Carl had been the primary suspect in the kidnapping for years, as he was the main witness.

MSNBC interviewed Jaycee Lee Dugard's stepfather Carl Probyn Friday morning.
18 years after watching his stepdaughter's abduction, Probyn recounts the phone call about her return.
Probyn was once considered a suspect in Jaycee's disappearance. "It broke my marriage up. I've gone through hell, I mean I'm a suspect up until yesterday," a tearful Carl Probyn, 60, told The Associated Press.

I do want to apologize if I am spoiling the fun here. I can see that looking for parallels is interesting and that people on this thread are enjoying that.

You are not spoiling the fun, you make very interesting points and that's we are all here for. On the heals of Caylee, Haleigh's case does have many of the same characteristics as well it has many differences. I'm not sure that many people suspect Ron directly some do some don't, however I do beleive we all agree that he knows something and is hindering the situation. I don't think many people directly think Misty did anything either, but that she too knows who is responsible, all any of us want is answers.

Both Casey and Ron treated their children as their possessions. Thought just saying "I am a parent" made them mature, wise and worthy. Did not care who took care of the children as long as they could go party and look for easy money. This list is endless.

Can we get Cher to sing "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" for this thread? Lol!

Slightly O/T:

Madeliene McCann's mother was asked if she had a message for her missing daughter..She said, "Mommy loves you. Be brave."

Casey was asked the same question by Cindy and Casey said, "Mommy loves you. Be brave."
