As an attorney (caveat: Who would NOT defend a like Casey), I can pretty much see what Baez is thinking from his actions and comments over the last few days. To me, it seems he knows this child is not alive and that mom is responsible. So, he feels he has no choice but to set up a defense agaisnt murder. ANY information coming out about his client's actions leading up to her arrest and her statements after, can and will be used against her in a murder trial. He knows they will not help find the baby, so he's trying to suppress them and defend his future murder case. It is a strange place this lawyer/family/Casey is in: They know that to stop giving or trying to get any more info supporting Casey's story will make it look like Casey killed the child but they know that to get any more info implicates Casey in her baby's murder.

Casey might want to get an attorney who can speak...I personally thought his delivery sucked. I also thought his arguements were lame...and as another poster pointed out...how do you expect to sell the judge when you say things like "we'll be sure to tell you if we come up with anything important" (in so many words)...It's been almost 2 weeks...and you still haven't heard anything important yet from your client?

Anyone else wonder why NO ONE in the family but Lee calls this child by her name??? Does George actually think that it is the medias job to find this kid? Maybe if these 2 wack jobs had of put Casey in the car and MADE her take them to where the child might be, and MADE her confess to the truth, the child would be found.

If I didn't know that the FL will not let non-ABA accredited law school graduates sit for the bar, I would say Baez got his JD degree from an online "law university". This guy is ABSOLUTELY (using Casey's favorite word) HORRIBLE.

Everybody involved in this is off their rocker or completely inept.

Now, let the flood gates open and lets hear what was said this week. GM and GP looked pretty worried there at the end. Like maybe she said something incriminating to them this week??

To expand on my last post, a good defense attorney would be able to track down Casey's leads very, very quickly, either with or without the help of LE and would have something by now that proves the existence of Zenaida - for example, someone who knew her. And that last bit of evidence would not put Caylee or Casey's family at risk of harm if the family was being threatened. It's all BS. The attorney would release that info, at least some of it, in a heartbeat, to gain his client's release or to find the child. Baez knows it is crapola!

Amen to that.

I can see the parents saying this the first couple of days.... but once they saw that Casey has no intentions of telling them where to find Caylee, I think you admit to yourself that the ONLY person Casey cares about is Casey.

She 'lost' her baby.

She doesn't give a hoot how much her family suffers worrying about Caylee.

She doesn't give a hoot about all the friends & others that she has dragged into this sick game & how she has disrupted everyone's life while she sits on her butt.


They don't seem to GET IT....... Casey does NOT care where Caylee is..... she's more interested in the attention & sympathy she's getting from her family.

I can't get over it, I'm honestly shocked that the judge didn't issue the gag order.

But I'm thinking he's probably snarkily thinking "Well, if she won't talk, then there's nothing to hear, right?" But honestly, I think it's kind of a good move...it's the only way we might get any truth.

I've read Websleuths for a few years now yet didn't register as I'm not much of a sleuth. I'm still not a good sleuth but with this case, well, I registered for Caylee, it's a symbolic sign but it's all I can do. I can't bring myself to donate money in this case.

Anyway, I am going to brown-nose a bit here and say you all are just great. The information is always up to date and very often FAR more than is available from the media.

I think because if they were to identify the child by the name the public has come to know-CAYLEE- it would POWERFULLY connect this missing child with the mother who lost/hurt her.

My question is why would the LE give that info out if they don't have to? Why risk having to move the hearing etc? They get to hear what is being said, how can they benefit from letting all of us hear it if they know she is dead and not missing? The LE said they have processed the car, if they did find human remains ( even if they don't know if its caylees) why wouldnt that come out that its human remains? Something seems so odd with the LE on this. Does anyone know if it came out that it was NOT human remains found in the car afterall, that Baer could get the bond lowered at that point? Just thinking out loud. Wondering if that is why we have not heard anything.

It always struck me as very telling that Casey's family NEVER mentioned they might want to hire their own private investigator(s) to find Caylee.
