I called our local news today to announce my donation to the clothing drive. Nice pair of shoes. Would you believe the line went dead. I'll try again tomorrow. I found a t-shirt I have'nt worn since the 80's.

:floorlaugh: I almost strangled on my Cracker Jack laughing at your post.

If CA gives the shoes away and someone else auctions them...she doesn't look as bad...maybe she will get her cut. KWIM

I am just saying why the need to announce they were Caylee's shoes? If you want to donate just donate.

Why would anyone want to wear the shoes of a murdered child?!?

eta: As I continue on in this thread, I see many others have had the same question! Sorry, it was an immediate response. An excited utterance, if you will. :innocent:

  • #164
Maybe she's only dontaing one pair of shoes because she thinks the charity might be able to auction them off to raise money???

I don't see any other reason for only one pair.

Could this be under advisement of council or possibly because George is ex LE, to cover their bases since Caylee (and Casey's) shoes were logged and photographed as evidence? Especially given recent change in council. :waitasec:

"Oh we gave those shoes away to charity. It's what _____ would have wanted."

:snooty: albeit morally repugnant.

BBM

This was the first thing that I thought upon reading this "news". These shoes may have some sort of meaning to the case and CA is trying to be clever and get rid of them. I'm sorry, but I just wouldn't put ANYTHING past these people! JMO

From what I read online, a woman with this organization is supposively going to be speaking to one of the local news stations tonight on 11 pm broadcast.

Would someone PLEASE post synopsis for those of us not local?

This whole thing reminds me of the past when the Anthonys reported to the media that they were going to attend that crime victim seminar that Mark Klaas is affiliated with (am embarrassed to say I cannot recall family's name who holds it yearly in honor of their daughter)...

After media reported story based on CA's "leak", this poor family was bombarded with angry and nasty emails and a very upset/angry Mark Klaas appeared on NG to set the record straight but also "leak" that the Anthonys had been UNINVITED!

I am VERY VERY ANGRY that Cindy is pulling this stunt again....against yet another charitable organization whose goal it is to HELP....

I am beginning to rethink my mantra of "The only thing in this world I can truly say I hate because they nauseate me is brussel sprouts"

According to Patalano, Anthony offered to share the flier with local media outlets. Patalano assumed the media might mention the shoe drive as part of a "public service announcement." She said she did not know Anthony was planning to donate her murdered granddaughter's shoes, nor share that information with the media.

By Wednesday morning, Patalano said she was being bombarded with phone calls at home and at work from protesters, whom she described as "hateful." Patalano fears the controversy could jeopardize her 20-year career at the pharmacy. She also said several other pharmacies have decided not to host similar shoe drives as a result of the negative publicity, which means fewer donations for the orphans.

What a media circus this will be for the charity putting this all on. Do they not know the riff raff (who are not on here reading) that will show up to give her a piece of their mind and get a little face time doing so? The charity needs to quietly and privately collect her donated goods and avoid the craziness that will be brought on them. OMG, if we are in a tizzy. Can you imagine all the people making signs right now because they had notice? I do hope it is a peaceful event but I am thinking with the media there and Kardash....no, oops the Anthony's showing up that it will be interesting.

Knowing CA, she will grandstand in front of the media and make it a point to show off THE pair of shoes that is being donated and how attached *sniff* that she was to these shoes *sniff* because she remembers the day she bought them *sniff* for her little granddaughter *sniff, sniff* and that she wrote Caylee's name in them so that the child who gets them will maybe wonder who Caylee was *boo, hoo...excuse me...I can't talk now* Then she will leave the charity site with all the people there scratching their heads as to what it was they just witnessed.

I for one will be interested to see HOW she uses this day. I would rather see her be humble and quietly donate, that would serve Caylee's memory in a respectable way.

Thanks for the link, nums.

Here's a snippet:

"Unfortunately the media would not have normally covered this event, had it not been for my involvement."

Narcissism much Cindy?

GAH. I recall she's said that before. Was it with the Cummings case?

Get. Over. Yourself.

If she had any decency she'd stay away and leave this poor charity alone. But she won't because it's all about her.

In an e-mail to Local 6 Wednesday responding to the controversy, Cindy Anthony wrote, "Hopefully everyone will be respectful to what this event is all about. It's not about my family, it's about doing a good thing for others. My goal is to help this foundation collect shoes for the orphans in Honduras. Unfortunately the media would not have normally covered this event, had it not been for my involvement."

Hot damn. So CA sent an alert to the media that she was donating a pair of Caylee's shoes to support this organization, and yet Ms. Patalano had no idea that CA was going to donate said items from Caylee, or publicize same to media?

Again the sheer crazy kerflunkles me.

"Hopefully everyone will be respectful to what this event is all about. (it's not about YOU Cindy) It's not about my family, it's about doing a good thing for others. (So why call the media?) My goal is to help this foundation collect shoes for the orphans in Honduras. (Mrs. Pantalano has been doing this for 20 years without your help Cindy..no one cares what YOUR goal is, again, it's not about YOU) Unfortunately the media would not have normally covered this event, had it not been for my involvement." (narcissistic, delusional, pseudo-celeb)

This woman is unbelievable!!

Eyewitness recap:

http://boards.insessiontrials.com/showpost.php?p=14465329&postcount=209

"Patalono works at the pharmacy where Cindy goes and when Patalono gave Cindy a flyer about the event Cindy said she would pass this on to the media. Patalono had noooooooo idea that Cindy would make a public donation. Patalono fears that she will lose her 20year career in this charity. Sponsers are backing out and made a statement that she could not stop Cindy from making the donation but does NOT want her volunteering or bringing the Media."

Ouch! This lady should have known better than to hand Cindy anything that would give her (Cindy)any media access. Tough lesson to learn. When will people clue into these charlatans???

Patalano should have a clue-she works at Cindy's pharmacy and has been a "long-time customer"!!:innocent:
Patalano also works at a pharmacy, where she said Cindy Anthony has been a long-time customer. The Children of Love Foundation is holding their annual shoe drive at that same pharmacy

Geesh, I think CA honestly thought that her "clout" with the media would be a good thing. I think it is 100% now that anyone who aligns themselves with the Anthony's, even innocently, always get trampled upon. Sad.

I think she has touched yet another thing and turned it to poo. Mark my words, she will be blaming the media and the bloggers, when she is the one that was saying "Look at me".

  • #177
Well, that lady is finding out first hand how Cindy "helps". I don't believe people should be calling and being hateful, but a mild voice of protest isn't a bad thing because it gets the point across. Angry people demonstrating during the event would be bad, especially if Cindy shows up. E-mail, people, haven't you heard of e-mail? Don't be carrying burning torches and pitchforks. Yikes.

Cindy said in her e-mail to the media (snipped), "My goal is to help this foundation collect shoes for the orphans in Honduras. Unfortunately the media would not have normally covered this event, had it not been for my involvement."

Oh, Saintly One, the world thanks you for going out of you way to stick your nose into it. Next time I want the world to know something, I'll contact you, Cindy.

What did we do without you? :drink:
