Also, Chase Merritt’s daughter and brother are here today. They were not here on Friday. And Patrick McStay (Joseph’s father) is here too. He told the judge on Friday he had to fly out of town. The judge allowed his victim impact statement on Friday. #nbc7

My thought is Merritt has probably complained of chest pains or faked an actual heart attack, and he's being checked out at the jail, possibly transported to County Hosp. I have no idea of the facts, just what was my thought.
