Cindy's BoA Checking Account

I don't recall ever seeing any bank accounts for GA. I would like to, though. I wish we could see proof of the Nigerian scam he claimed to have fallen prey to. With the escort service searches and other questionable things, I don't trust GA's version of how he lost the money. As a matter of fact, I distrust ANY thing said by ANY A. JMO.

My guess is the Nigerian scam had the initials CMA connected to it. Regarding their loss of money I find anything they say regarding what happened to it all just does not cut the mustard. lol

I've never understood the talk about Casey getting the house. That house had a mortgage; they didn't own that house outright. Casey could not in any way 'inherit' a house with a mortgage.

IF Cindy had left the house to Casey in her will in the event that something happened to her & George, she could indeed inherit the house with the mortgage. I suspect she may have known this and that's why she wanted Amy to move in with her, to help pay the mortgage.

My mother's boyfriend died a couple of months ago & he left his home to his 2 sons and still owed over $70K on it. They don't want it and they'll have to try to sell it or let it go back to the bank. (The latter is more likely because of the actual value of the house and today's economy. A nice house might sell pretty quickly for a good price, but this is a prefab type house/trailer in a very rural area.) It's listed in his probate court papers.

Also, my brothers & I own the house our mom lives in with the right to live in it until she either moves to assisted living or passes away - do NOT want to think about that! :( My mom deeded it over to us for "$5.00 and love & affection" when our dad was first diagnosed with Alzheimer's so he wouldn't have any assets in his name as she knew he'd eventually have to move to an assisted living place (she had his POA for everything). It's a common practice, actually. Theirs was paid for, though...

Many home owners with mortages have insurance on their home..so that if an owner passes away, the mortage is payed in full.

I would think the A's had a similar policy with the mortage company.

Mortage insurance is a luxury that I dont think the A's could have afforded, but I don't know if they had it or not. I recall that they were in pretty bad financial shape, due to OCA and GA, and stopped paying their mortage after Caylee was murdered. It then went into early forclosure, but was stopped due to a refinance I believe. (I scare myself that I know this)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I always thought mortgage insurance was to protect the bank/lender not the mortgager, that is if something happens to the person who buys the house, the bank/lender recoups their mortgage loan first to repay the debt and if anything is left in equity it goes to the inheritors...no? So even if a mortgage goes into foreclosure, I imagine the insurance would have some clause to cover that.

I know that here in Quebec, mortage insurance is mandatory, and reasonably cheap at 14$ a month, for a quite pricey house (over 500k)
Not sure if it's similar in the usa.

Yes, here too also mandatory in BC - no insurance no mortgage...and not sure what the price is anymore but don't imagine it's that much. The bigger policy fee is for the additional and separate insurance on the house and it's contents.

No reputable lender is going to lend money without a life policy on it. Most credit cards have them also.

It's very difficult, nigh on impossible, to obtain a mortgage here without agreeing to take out the insurance for it. In fact, mortgages provided by almost every lender now have it automatically written into the loan agreement. Why pass on the burden when, for the small cost of the insurance (only a few dollars per month), you can protect yourself and/or your inheritors?
It would be interesting to know whether GA and CA had such insurance and whether OCA would have known or understood it.

bbm. OCA may very well have known about it, if it is true that when GA/CA separated OCA did not want him to come back ever to live in the house again, CA may have had some discussions with OCA about the mortgage, what the payments were, what they included (where I live real estate taxes can also be included into that mortgage amount), what would happen if GA never came back and whether CA could take over the whole mortgage herself, and if there was insurance CA could have told OCA there was also insurance included, etc. -- if CA ever really had a discussion with OCA about OCA never wanting GA back, I can see where this type of info could have been discussed with OCA, and OCA could have filed it in the back of her mind for later use.

IMO, MOO, etc.

ETA: IF, and that is a big IF, CA even wanted to discuss the household finances with OCA, since OCA was apparently robbing them blind, and blind CA appeared to be to it, but in her heart and amidst the denial, CA knew OCA was doing all of that stealing. IMO.

I seen this thread pop up and I remember seeing it during the time the BOA was being talked about. When I seen it tonight and I read the title my thought was does Cindy still have a BOA account. I thought OCA drained it dry. Let me see what is being said.

I still like to come back to the Caylee threads and read if anything new has come out. Hoping one day to read/hear the truth. Prolly never see that happen.

Yes, it is mandatory UNTIL you've paid off 20% of your mortgage. Then it can be dropped. But I'm not sure if the A's had 20% paid off or not when all this happened. Surely they did, since they moved into that house back in the 90's. I know I was allowed to drop mine after only 6 years; I made extra payments toward the principal every month. (I have no children/husband and neither brother wants to live in my little po-dunk town, lol. So the bank can have it when I'm gone if it's not paid off at that time...)
