I can absolutely see how he could be identified as a red-head by an eye-witness, in this pic at least. His hair colour here looks like mine, and I have red highlights.

The Vermont murder was on Thursday, Oct 5, 2023. Unless we're missing information about a trip east in the fall of that school year, he should've been working in a classroom in Texas. Does anyone have info that he wasn't working as a teacher at that time?

I understand your frustration, but I don't think they gave him a pass.

The school probably could not press criminal charges. Criminal charges must be supported by clear evidence of actual criminal acts-not just flying yellow, or even red flags.

Radiating creepy vibes (however strong) or having questionable judgement are effectively not criminal acts. Likewise, the act of filing criminal charges cannot be mis-used as a warning or other form of deterance.

Then factor in that civil servants, including teachers, can have a lot of job protections.
As a result, firing government employees can be administratively very difficult and often involves a long appellate process.

In addition, firings are often restricted to specific grounds. "Creepy vibes" would not be one of those specific grounds. Questionable judgement probably is. But.... the problem teacher could well need to be given a series of written notices, give time for improvement etc.

In short, pressured resignations and "contract not renewed" appear to be very common ways to get rid of problem teachers. The school was likely following standard practice

What Lewisville ISD did by allowing AJM to resign is not standard procedures or best practices.
Someone dropped the ball, they did not listen to parents and value that concerns of the children.

What they were suppose to do was listen, and if they had any suspicions that a child may be harmed- they were to be Mandatory Reporters- which is what they are. And report the incident.
Then that incident could be investigated by people who are trained to do so.

Instead, they did an ‘internal investigation’ which may have amounted to telling him stop doing the things parents had voiced concerns about. He completed the school year- and resigned in May.

So, when was the first red flag by a parent made known to the school admin?

As the stories come out from parents of boys and girls, we see that it wasn’t simply ‘creepy’.
I believe I’ve now seen articles with four different moms, three of boys and one of a girl who is using he name and another who is remaining anonymous. And all of these parents reference ‘girls’.
If his class had 20 students- these five families coming to national media is 1/4 of his class.
And we likely do not have all the stories.

I predict in Lewisville ISD some admin are going to lose their jobs!

Children felt like something was not right, they went to an adult and voiced their concern, fear, and discomfort. That adult took those concerns from parents to admin- and nothing was done.

Parents in Texas are Mandatory Reporters- they do not need the school or anyone else to investigate before reporting. If they have suspicious that a child is being harmed- they are obligated morally and legally to report. They are mandatory reporters.

To me it is crystal clear, the system failed the kids
And in time when an investigation begins to happen- which is now two years after the fact…we will find out what really happened. At this point with no such investigation we do not know the full story.

Given she was retired when murdered, I don't think it's worth going back further in time as her career is likely longer than AM has been alive.

I don't think the cases are connected, imo.

I read she was 77 when she was killed.
It looks to me like she was science faculty and then became a department chair, then became Dean of the School for several years before she retired.

Some retired faculty are Faculty Emeritus and maintain an office on campus while still engaging in science research with other faculty and grad students, they may even teach classes and are semi-retired.
I think this is what she was doing.

I have to say, Wow! That is an impressive resume! She likely was quite the spitfire!

Neither sketch picked up traits that I see as pretty darn distinct, of course they may have only seen him for short period of time, then later had to recall.

Distinct Traits of AJM- imo
Auburn hair, not really red iMO
Kinda ruddy complexion/ fair skinned
Big head
Curly hair
Prominent Cro-Magnon type brow ridge
Bushy eyebrows
Prominent nostrils
Stocky build in shoulders and neck

He seems to maintain that same hair style year after year.
If he had a cap on then you can’t see it.
But we’ve not seen him in an adult picture with short hair. iirc

IMO and experience, it’s highly dependent upon the laws in each state and whether or not the teachers’ union is strong.

In NYS we have a very powerful union (NYSUT) and even more so specifically here in NYC (UFT).

In Texas, the contracts negotiated by either unions, or de facto unions can vary by each district.

Though Dallas, Austin, Houston, and El Paso are not going to be on the same par as NYC, Chicago, or LA, I would not doubt that they have some pretty good job protections . But.... I imagine that rural areas and smaller cities are going to be very different.

The murderer worked in the suburbs of the DFW metroplex. I dont know if the suburbs in question would tilt towards DISD or not.

It looks like McGann was teaching at Spring Creek Elementary in Broken Arrow, OK, for the 2023-24 school year, according to Arkansas local news and other outlets.

Looking at that school's calendar for 2023, school appears to have been in session on October 5. Fall Break wasn't for another two weeks. However, October 6 was a "distance learning" day, so perhaps no in-person classes were held. Not sure what the instructors' obligations are.

A quick phone call by LE to inquire to whether or not AM's was at work on October 5th would be a trivial means for rule him as being potentially in or out for this crime.

Yep, this one should be easy to rule out—or in. But probably out!

None of the parents coming forward have claimed that they reported it to CPS.
And the statements coming out from districts explain that he passed background checks.
When parents complained to admin, they were told they would ‘look into it’.

It appears to me that no one reported to CPS, so there actually was no investigation.

I’ll have to add that, and also small feet.
Some have said they think his feet are too small for his height.

If you read all those together I’m not sure human comes to mind, some kind of cartoon character or farm animal?

So even Honoree’s living son suffers from schizophrenia. It has been speculated on this thread that Andrew McGann possibly suffers from schizophrenia or other serious mental illness. I wonder if he ever read Power’s 2017 book.

I do see a resemblance. But I agree, Vermont in October makes no sense.

Even for pure speculation, I think it would be good to check a few criteria before throwing possible diagnoses around! A theory ought to be backed up with a few more facts than someone's row of nicknames or aliases. JMO

Surely you saw my Cleveland Clinic link in my post that you are speaking of (its below, without embedding it in the text). I am not ignorant of the criteria as you imply. Quite frankly I am offended.

And this was my second post opining a possible DID diagnosis for AJM. That is why I stated in my most recent post that I am "still considering DID". In my first post I was reacting to a series of posts examining what a "Chameleon" AJM apparently is.

His demeanor as described in MSM by fellow classmates of his and parents of students he taught, seems calm in some settings and raging in others. Like a Jekyll and Hyde persona, I stated.

It is possible AJM does have PTSD or C-PTSD from his childhood. Just like it is possible he had multiple concussions from playing Rugby and now has CTE. We just don't know much at all.

Many have opined here about various psychopathologies for AJM including CTE, psychosis, schizophrenia, arrested development, and a pedophilia disorder. I think its fair to throw DID into the mix given what we know - seemingly nice but weird elementary school teacher turned raging double murderer with a knife.

Since today is your first post on this case, you may want to go back to T1, P1 to catch up on our collective thoughts about AJM's mental health.
