Clinton David Brink, 43 & Cristen Amanda Brink, 41 found on trail - Devil's Den State Park, AR- 26 July, 2025 #3 *Arrest*

Moo..my son got nice lunches, candy and Easter eggs from teachers. Always woman teachers. Because apparently he did not get fed, or get Easter eggs at home. Kids like to be the teachers pet. I think that is something many teachers are not trained to deal with....moo

I'd be interested in finding out if there were any flashing incidents or sexual assaults on the trails this dude frequented. I mean the clothing he wore in Devil's Den look less like running outfit and more like something a sex offender would do. Dark clothes to make stains less visible, long sleeves and trousers for protection against scratches and the face cover ready on his neck...

The gloves remain a perplexing choice, if his goal was self-pleasure on the trail.

Did he wear gloves in an attempt at self-control to NOT expose himself or touch himself?

Or did he wear them just for the look of them?

Apparently he was hiding his hand(s) at the salon, so the gloves obviously didn't protect him in the knife attack. Or did he take them off? Was he indeed exposing/pleasuring himself and the father noticed and tried to run him off?

Why did he wear gloves?

Some of us are extremely un photogenic. But if I ever need to make another online dating profile, I think I can manage better than a pic that says "dont message me back" lol. My selfies are good, but anyone else takes a photo and im like who tf is that? Ugh lol
I am not photogenic so I get the stress of posting a good photo online. However, his choice of photos on a dating app, if that's true (is it confirmed?) is odd, at best.

Why use a scary photo? He certainly could've achieved a more appealing first impression with a different photo. If he were serious about attracting a woman on the site, he would've made effort to get a good photo. Instead, he made effort to post a bad photo. So why bother with a dating profile at all??

He apparently was on the dating app the morning of the murder. It's normal for a 28yo male to be thinking about his sex life and online dating is normal, but this was not a normal day. Did he notice that morning nobody "liked" him on the site? (Assuming nobody did, which I think is a safe bet.)

Was he sincere about wanting to find an adult woman to date? If so, why use a bad photo? Was that self-sabotage? Was it a way to prove to himself that grown women don't like him? So screw that, he'll go find satisfaction where he can get it - in the park?

And why use a scary photo as his school ID? To say, "hey, you know who you hired, don't blame me." ?

Speculation only, just thinking aloud about this particular case.

When I saw that AM (in his intro msg at his first teaching job) said that he had been student teaching during the last 2 years of working on his BA at OSU, I was surprised and went to look at OK's sub requirements.
I think I’m missing something here. Student teaching is not the same as substitute teaching. Student teaching is a normal part of obtaining an education degree where college students get time in the classroom under the supervision of the regular classroom teacher.

Looking for an update I heard the 911/ dispatch call again.
It looks like AJM exited the park to the west and not the east as I had thought.

NBC 15 The teacher who went to Devil’s Den: double homicide story

The dispatcher says he was seen exiting the park to 170 or 220. That is to the west.
170 is west exit
170 splits
170 to North to interstate 49
South to Lee Creek Rd to 220 toward Fort Smith

Both directions would be rural for 20+ miles, forested, some small cities.
He could have arrived at Interstate 49 in about 20 min.

If the attack took place around 2PM
And if he drove directly toward his new home in Springdale
He could have arrived at home in 40 min or so, by 3PM

I’d like to know what happened to Khan!!
I Google-searched for Kahn in any AR shelter and no Kahn found. He may be an unnamed or newly named cat in a shelter, which would be impossible to find. Or hopefully he is with AM's family.

That's what I'm hoping, that family or neighbors took him in! I recall when Chris Watts was arrested, the dog was immediately given to family to care for. Of course a dog is more obvious at a residence than a cat, so that's a bit of a worry.

Well, I'm sure LE has scoured AM's residence. And hopefully Kahn was either hungry enough or friendly enough to make his presence known.

Even if Kahn was in hiding, LE would certainly have seen 1. Food and water bowls, 2. cat food in cabinets or on counters, and 3. a litter box. So it would be impossible for LE to miss Kahn.

IMO.

In a past life, I was one assigned to evaluate sex offenders. Fortunately, my jurisdiction did not have a large number to evaluate, so I never gained comprehensive experience before the assignment ended.

Anyways......

I would say that 90% or more of "my guys" were also sexually interested in adult women and were willing to date, or marry them. Again, I don't have comprehensive experience so the 90% may not hold true on a broad average.

Being interested in dating adult women, however, does not mean actually dating them. Some of "my guys" were just too creepy, had strongly negative personalities, or were into uhhmm...."off putting" sex acts etc. to have a lot of adult dating experience. Others, however, were charismatic, intelligent and thus had a lot of adult dating experience
There aren't stats on prevalence AFAIK but pedophiles can either be "exclusive" or "non-exclusive" according to the DSM, i.e. exclusively attracted to children, or not.

+ people get married without actually being attracted to their partners all the time. gay men will sometimes be married to women for decades because they're still in the closet, for example. sometimes marriages and relationships exist for social status reasons only.

in the case of this specific guy he might have just wanted to be with adult women for power reasons, maybe he was attracted to them, who knows. maybe he wanted to meet single moms for nefarious reasons. JMO.

This is shocking to me.

In NY, and I would have presumed in Illinois, (at least in the Chicago area), you must have a Bachelor’s in either Education if you’re teaching grade school, (Common Branch License) or in your subject, where you can teach 7th-12th grade. (I’m in this category). You have to pass three teaching exams as well. Then you have three years to get your Master’s, which is mandatory.
The rules the previous posted listed were for subs, not regular teachers. Is that true for subs in NY?

<modsnip: quoted post was removed> ... student teaching is not the same as substitute teaching.

According to this report, AJM received his teaching certificate in 2023, but he worked for Lewisville ISD at Donald Elementary School during the 2022-2023 school year.
So he was certified in OK but not yet in Texas. Not unusual, but note worthy.
He may simply have had to take a test for TX cert. I’m now wondering if that was the case, someone would have vouch for him to get that test waived.
KDFW Devil’s Den murder suspect was North Texas elementary teacher

Others have posted that he had teachers in his family- I wonder if there are education admins in his family? Admins pay attention to young people who come from educator/ educator admin families.
That person to person network is important- It could be that he was the son of a highly respected teacher who knew someone in the district where he was hired.

True! I'm sure as a matter of protocol they contact family or animal control in such cases.

One use of fingerless gloves - a description earlier in the thread - is shooting. In inclement weather or in competitions, some pistol shooters wear fingerless gloves. I'm sure they have other uses as well - weightlifting too. In the case of pistol shooting, the fingerless gloves can provide a firm grip, while allowing fingers to reach the trigger and other components easily.

Did AJM have a pistol in his backpack? His weapon in the park was a knife, but perhaps he also had a pistol.

It could give a better grip on a knife as well. If he went looking for a random victim and premeditated a murder by stabbing, then the black clothes would have hid any blood stains. As LE have stated, there is no evidence that the children were a target. It appears to have been a random attack on the father and later the mother as she returned to the scene and could identify him. At this point, I'm thinking he was either off his medications or using drugs, or having a mental health breakdown that was out of control.

I saw some people comment online that maybe he was trying to make the Zoolander Blue Steel face to be funny. But, the guy just looks terrifying instead.

A sub and a licensed teacher are very different

For Texas teacher license a Bachelors degree is required, you can have completed a certification program as part of the bachelors or after earning a bachelors.

Teacher Education Program
Complete 30 college hours
Apply and be admitted into a teacher education program, choose elem K-6 or secondary 6-12.
Complete degree requirements, courses, observations, student teaching
Take Professional exams, Apply for licensing
To maintain certification- keep up Continuing Professional Education hours, earn course credit at a university, or go back for a related degree- Masters specialization or admin

Early Childhood- EC3- Generalist to teach PreK to grade 3
Elementary EC6- Generalist certification to teach various subjects, math, social studies, English/ language arts, science. K-6th grade
Education courses, observations, student teaching
State professional exam, generalist elementary exam for license

Secondary- 6-12 teachers must earn a bachelors in their content area, their degree is not in Education, major in one area and minor in second area,
Bachelors/ content area courses
Education courses, observations, student teaching
State professional exam, exams for each content area, secondary exam for license

Alternative Certification Program- iTEACH Program lists certifications
Bachelors degree
Education courses, observations, student teaching
State professional exams for license

I have known teachers who were hired for one year while completing an Alt Cert Program, so they are getting paid. They are probationary, their contract cannot be renewed without certification.

There are many many certifications- special ed, art, music, PE, coaching, 4-8 grade specializations

Texas Education Agency website

I believe this is up to date, but things do change

I also wonder whether "the covid interruption" to life when young people were in their final years of college and preparing to launch has imposed costs we are just beginning to see. Important factors in developing realistic expectations (tempering some of the unrealistic idealism that students may otherwise be graduating with) and the resilience to bounce back from disappointments or disillusionments were disturbed - peer-to-peer interaction and counseling, mentors, just being around others and picking up on cues, a social life that balances work life.

I think it's an age for guys in particular to realize they might not be living up to their expectations of being an adult. They might be afraid they don't have what it takes, and then lash out with crime, self-harm, destruction to life around them. I don't think they would be aware of their fear, but simply feel rage about it - so they destroy. imo

Armchair analysis, worth what you paid for it.
