I'm not a teacher, but like, how is a child sitting in a teacher's lap ever an innocent situation? That's never ever ever appropriate ever, period. That's yikes on bikes.
I have had very young children unexpectedly climb into my lap. Some kids come from very loving homes and I became and extension of that. We're talking kindergarten 1st, 2nd grade. I had a very few kids come and wrap their arms around me needing a hug.

It was all innocent and I never got a complaint but then I made sure the interaction was as short as possible to not embarrass the child. This was a long time ago in a very different world.

Definitely, this never happened when I was alone with a child which was pretty much rare.

I personally don't think being alone with a child or student for that matter is ever a good idea. I learned that when a student had a crush and would come into my room after school. The first time he tried to hold my hand. I told him no and asked him to leave. Then I informed the teachers close to me to keep an eye out and if he returned to please come in my room. The next time he came in the lady across the hall came in and he left. After that he stalked me for awhile following me to the store etc.

What would have happened if when he'd grabbed my hand someone had witnessed it? Now that's yikes on bikes!!

Yeah I'm not talking about here. I'm referring to Entin. What because he's on YT now he's going to just go full on reckless speculation?
I have found it more helpful to listen to those who post the helpful information after they've listened to him.
I find that he likes to hear himself talk too much.

I think he's an approved source but I don't listen. I just want facts.

Didn't the school suggested there were no such reports and he was removed for favoritism and general apathy towards the students? Obviously they could be lying, but that's neither here or there. But even LE say the attack wasn't targeting the kids.
He didn't harm the children, but that could be because they escaped on time.
If they qualified one-on-one time with lap-sitting and girlfriend/boyfriend talk as mere favoritism, shame on the school. They were soon free of him.

What if he planned to sedate a child and put them into the bag then try to leave the park inconspicuously (or wander deeper into the woods)? The duffel was a hockey bag with mesh on top. Reportedly he brought the same bag to school the previous year.
I wonder if he arrived with an empty duffel bag in order to collect some wood or other items in the woods to take home. Or if he arrived with a full duffle bag that had some food or other items in it for his outing. Lots we don't know.

I don't think the bag was ever full. IIRC the witnesses stated that it looked like there was something heavy in the bottom of the bag, weighing it down.

Springdale Superintendent speaks:

“There are things that happen in life that don’t make sense—tragedies that happen. And as we reflect through our own practices of hiring—the way we research references, the way we interview—we followed all of our protocols.”

“And for people who are really sick—to be fooled the way other districts, and even us, appear to have been fooled—because references were good, credentials were good—we’re going back to square one to look at anything that we could have possibly missed.”

Comforting to know they are going to examine everything in hindsight.

In reference to hikers reporting his bags seemed loaded on the way in yet empty on the way out, did they leave the park closed for the purpose of running cadaver dogs to search for possible (cringe) hidden dead body of a little girl he took in then was looking for a replacement to carry out?

While disturbing, your idea is an interesting possible explanation of the seemingly weighted (trail witness) then unweighted (back pic) large duffle bag - presuming 'back pic' is post murders.

@AppleTreeGreen was able to zero in on the contents in the large mesh duffle bag on T2.

Below is one pic. In the large duffle, it looks clear to me that there could be a pick tool / shovel in the bag. It was outlined by Apple, as you can see below. It could just be a fold, so grain of salt.

But now I wonder...

I really like Dr. Cleveland and trust that he’ll make any needed changes. I love our district and still believe Springdale is one of the best in the state.

Respectfully, those are not the same unless they have merged into one in the DSM V. Moo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and for those who may not know this is the manual of mental health that psychologists use to diagnose mental health issues as well as disorders.

I believe they are one in the same now.

Well, I for one trust the Cleveland Clinic, from whom my link in my post is from. Here is front page.

…The dude literally has three bags, for what?…

Wait, where did the info about three bags come from?

Re the duffle, could it possibly be a pet carrier? Considering the mesh parts?

It does seem something more than just simple coincidence, that his victims had 2 little girls in this age range with them.

The attack on the mom was to get rid of a witness, imo.
Thinking more too along these lines, I wonder if his motivation for the anwful attacks and murders he committed was driven in part by a new lack of willingness to move between schools or states from then on. Just speculation, but perhaps his behavior escalated because he decided against leaving behind any potential witnesses or survivors who could report him later, resulting in another job he would have to resign from or not expect to work for the term or year after. Under this hypothetical, unfortunately not even the girls, if one or both were the targets, would survive the assault afterwards as he would have also horribly robbed them of their lives as well to protect his identity and freedom.

Furthermore, perhaps if in theory he did he target one of the daughters or chose the park to target and prey on more victims, he did so because he wanted potential victims he had no personal connection or relationship to, unlike before when he preyed on girls at his own school, thus further adding to his anonymity and, in his mind, making it harder for LE to easily identify him and tie him to the crimes. Just my own speculation and of course I could be wrong.
How many little girls hike, let alone alone, on these trails? How would he think he'd have able to abduct the girls with a knife in the middle of a well visited park while dealing with the parents? And why didn't he bother to chase after the girls?

Just my own speculation, but I think it is possible he originally planned to abduct or attack a child when they were if not necessarily alone, at least out of direct sight of their parents, guardians or other adults such as what happened in the terrifying caee of Charlotte Sena in 2023, the Evansdales murders that occurred in 2012, the Delphi case of 2017 and that of a 11 years old girl biking in park in Queens with her father.

I think it is also possible that he intended to chase the daughters but the brave mom and dad up such a fight they both helped the girls escape and deterred him from continuing further as the risk of getting caught increased. Just my own theory though and could be wrong

Did AJM take Kahn with him for whatever crime he intended to commit (e.g. to lure a young girl)?

Pure speculation with a touch of humor, maybe.

Thank you so much for your input! As someone who came from a family with zero physical affection, I don't have a barometer for what's normal in that regard, I'll admit, and it's hard for me to determine what's problematic and what's innocent. Some people are very touchy feely and that is a world that is foreign to me completely, lol. It sounds like you dealt with this is a very appropriate and kind manner! I'm thinking the same can't be said about our perp, if he didn't engage with the other teachers about it and seemed to be enabling it, if the facts we've heard about him are true.

Thank you for doing what you do, and doing it conscientiously <3
