ASP RELEASES COMPOSITE SKETCH OF PERSON OF INTEREST IN

DEVIL’S DEN DOUBLE HOMICIDE
July 28, 2025

WEST FORK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) released a composite sketch of a man seen in Devil's Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Investigators have asked the public for help identifying the man so that they can question him related to a double homicide at the park.

Investigators said the suspect in the deaths likely sustained an injury while attacking the couple.

Thanks for this link, @Knox !

Graphic :

Hmmm.... Some blood spatter or cast off drops on the victim's bodies that originated from the perp ?
Can they fast track any dna testing ?
Imo.

WEST FORK, Ark. — A fugitive recovery expert says the manhunt for the suspect in a deadly attack at Devil’s Den State Park likely involves far more investigative work than the public realizes — and believes it’s only a matter of time before a break in the case.

Patrick McCall, a professional manhunter with experience tracking fugitives across the country, shared his perspective with 5NEWS as Arkansas State Police continue to search for the man they say killed Clinton and Cristen Brink while they were hiking with their two young daughters. The girls survived the attack.

He expects investigators are pouring through evidence left behind in the park.
"Was this gentleman lying in the bushes in wait? Was he smoking cigarettes? Did he drop a water bottle? Did he drop anything that has forensic or DNA evidence or anything to tie him back?" McCall said. "Sometimes we've seen where, you know, criminals are kind of careless, and they drop receipts from places they were at."

Some are saying that the man couldn’t get far without someone noticing the tape on the plates
And cameras would pick up the car plates

Locals have reported not being able to get into Arkansas State Police tip line, phone line is overwhelmed and hanging up, unable to give tips of description of suspect

Descriptions of suspect- missing age, height estimate, hair color/length, color of long sleeve shirt
Description of car- missing age of car, two or four door
Description says car was seen driving out of a park exit- There are three park exits- to West, South, and East- Which exit?

First alert came out Sat night when people were winding down, most coming forward in park and local areas had no idea a manhunt was in progress until midday Sunday

It is 1AM Tuesday and this event happened on Saturday
No press conference yet??
He could be local or have hit highway and be hundreds of miles away

IMO

The article I saw (sorry, I forget which one) said the plate was PARTLY covered with tape.

Arkansas license plates are black numbers on a pale background View attachment 604564

(Vehicle registration plates of Arkansas - Wikipedia)
so maybe rather than covering the plate, he instead had used a narrow strip of tape to alter one of the numbers or letters to look like a different number or letter? MOO
Good point, and if so, then maybe the perpetrator is driving a stolen vehicle and used the tape to avoid detection.

If so, then the modified license plate would not necessarily indicate this was a planned or targeted attack.

The ALPR system should prompt an alert if a plate is obscured and can’t be read. Obviously this would be beneficial to LE as they could hone in on any system alerts in the area/timeframe relevant to the murders.

But that’s assuming he didn’t stop fairly soon after leaving and remove the tape. I understand that not all ALPR locations are publicly disclosed?

If the car was stolen, why would he care about covering up the plate?

IMO the public needs a press conference

Why was age and height not given in description of perp?

The direction the black sedan exited the park was not shared with the public. Why?

Did anyone see the man who stabbed the victims get into that black sedan?
Did anyone who saw the black car leave the park also see who was driving it?

Man who stabbed victims was seen with large backpack- could he have survival gear?
Could he now be in Ozark National Forest- which is over 1 million square miles?

I’m not seeing connections between observations
The six hour delay in alerting the public isn’t conveying confidence

City of Prairie Grove stated Clinton and Cristen recently moved there. Starting water service on the 16th of july 2025. Source is on the facebook of City of Prairie Grove.

I wonder what the reasons for the move where. IF it was personally targeted, did someone follow them?

Along the with drawing, state police released a statement saying the suspect “likely sustained an injury while attacking the couple.” It did not go into further detail.

In a previous post, wasn’t there a link shared that stated it was a paper (temporary tag)? I’ll have to go back and check.

If so, it’s not uncommon to see tape being used to help adhere the paper tag to the car until permanent plates are put on. Is it possible the suspect wasn’t trying to hide part of his plate number but just had it taped awkwardly?

just throwing out ideas!

A couple who was killed at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, 2025, was hiking with their two daughters when they were attacked. The girls, who are 7 and 9, were not injured and are safe with family members.Read here for details: https://dps.arkansas.gov/news/asp-releases-additional-information-in-devils-den-double-homicide/

I think the police statement should read they were not physically injured. I think by saying ‘not injured’ it sort of diminishes the impact this murderer has had on them 🥲

The mental trauma for both will be horrific and so painful.

Im glad other family members have them so they can get the love and support they need

I could see him ( perp) backing his car into a parking spot so the plate didn't show, put tape on it then go on the trail. Just a thought. IMO

Edit to add: Do we have a timeline of when others said they saw him? Could he have been on the trail prior to the Brinks even going on the hike? He could have been looking for his victims for hours. Just wondering if he was noticed around the same time or earlier etc.

The young man that called into the YouTube show said they saw him on the Devils Den Trail.
He gave a full description and said his group of four contained artists and they were going to make a sketch to send in.
Group of four young adults passed him on the Devils Den Trail
Group of four left park at 1:30PM
Family of four on the trail, attacked
911 call around 2:30PM

ASP is asking not post photos or videos on social media.

To me this appears random- the guy had been in the park for some time before the attack
Planning to rob someone? Mental Illness

And- did anyone see him get into the black sedan that is being mentioned?
If they did not- he had a large backpack that could be survival gear- he could be in the forest.

News5 Arkansas River Valley and Northwest Arkansas- summary of events known

Again- the public needs a press conference
We are past 48 hours with no news of anything after the murders and car leaving park

IMO

Since the police were looking at the horse camp, I checked it out online. Cabins..ares to place tents.. wonder if they had a reason to look over there or they’re just checking everywhere.

Pretty generic sketch, but maybe along with the car description, it might generate some tips!
Right, and some sketches wind up looking nothing like the actual suspect. It was said he had blond hair, but I'm wondering how you can tell with the cap.

Snipped for focus.
I had thought of the robbery motive, either from addiction or hunger. There was a case years ago where an older male had gone to some hiking trails to randomly attack for just this motive, to get credit cards, and attacked and abducted a woman hiking with her dog. So robbery can definitely be a motive. Of course the 2 little girls being present complicates things, but maybe he was tired of waiting and thought that made the couple more vulnerable?
