The Gazette, the local Co Springs newspaper I think, seems to have been a good source during the Halloween shooting rampage downtown last month in Co Springs. They were actually the first to mention the name of that shooter, and explain why they chose to do so.

I don't know if there's different colour definitions in England but that's definitely dark grey hair and a light grey beard!

Hazel eyes are supposed to be brown, just not as dark as typical brown eyes. His eyes are very pale and I would say green grey it blue.

Anyway it just shows that descriptions vary

I agree that it's reassuring when nutjobs look nutty! Or rather, it's just not disturbing like it is when they look normal...

I think that's about the same way it would be described in the US, except that I think hazel is a green-brown combination. But then my hair is gray, but it’s still listed as blond on my driver’s license. I suppose I should change that.

I remember about 4 years ago when we were following case and somebody asked me to follow a very strange sounding link ... those who follow the news will know which one I'm talking about. I said heck no I'm not clicking on that link and I was *educated * afterwards . Apparently it is a well respected foreign mainstream media station I had never heard of

Agree that most foreign news stations are sometimes the best for US coverage

Sort of reminds me yet again of the indigent character in Cormack McCarthy's "Child of God" , maybe this R.D. was somewhat like a Lester Ballard-type ? Left alone to stew and fester until he exploded --- to harm and kill others.

The first one is the man who murdered Dr. Tiller in Kansas.
James Copp shot Dr. Slepian who worked in Buffalo, NY.
Eric Rudolph was responsible for the Atlanta Olympics bombing among other things.

Hundreds of protesters picketed in front of the clinic in August as part of a push by abortion opponents to cut off public funding for Planned Parenthood, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

One man was charged with trespassing in 2012 after flouting as many as 30 warnings to keep off clinic property, the paper said.

Details concerning threats made to the clinic via phone calls, social media and email have been handed to law enforcement to investigate.

Speculation over a motive for the attack has also led pro-choice activists saying a series of videos attempting to discredit Planned Parenthood could have ignited the deadly shooting.

R.D. strikes me as the type to go unhinged for any reason whatsoever, any excuse to explode and harm others.
What if he'd targeted a specific religion or those who live a simpler lifestyle, like the Amish ? The result might have been the same.
Almost like he was looking for a reason to "punish" a specific group of people.

I do not desire to hear his 'manifesto' or "reasons" for his despicable carnage.
And it's kind of sad his life in prison will be better than his life in his shack without electricity or running water ; paid for by ordinary people he seems to hate so much.
