Well, margarita25, imo Robert Lewis Dear, is an anomaly, and is no stranger to the game of the murder of unsuspecting innocent victims for many reasons. Imo, at the age of 57 he didn't just wake up one day and decide to go to the Planned Parenthood facility with an arsenal of weapons, IEDs, and ammunition and unleash terror on random victims, Law Enforcement, and the entire Colorado Springs community and beyond. Imo, a very dark and bleak portrait of his past is beginning to emerge and it would be logical to conclude that he is likely involved in some, if not many of the unsolved murders and shooting incidents in Colorado.
Mass murderers, unlike serial killers, kill a large number of people, typically at the same time... . < snipped, from a long good post, for focus >

Thank you for that careful, helpful post, and forgive me for honing in on such a small slice of it. This year, here have been a lot of unsolved, seemingly "random" shootings (victim and shooter not knowning one another) within a couple of hours drive from Dear's home. Dear might indeed be good for some. They are itimized in a case map that we've been using in the CO - Possible Serial Shooter thread. You and others have listed some in making the same point up thread. The most likely ones, it seems to me, are: the Glenn Martin campsite shooting in Pikes Nat'l Forest; the cycle passenger shot in the back in the Garden of the Gods (particularly contemptable and in line with my image of Dear); a recent series of three pedestrian shootings in Denver and Aurora; a recent series of three attacks against school and health facility buildings well north of Denver; and nine or so clear gun attacks on motorists south of Denver.
Do we have any indication of what Dear was driving? Several accounts of the other ramdom shootings have involved white SUV's. Police are looking for an older black Cadillac in connection with another.
Do we have any indication of what Dear did with his time or where his income came from? All I've heard about were past jobs back East. Is there any indication that he might have been trying to peddle his prints in the up scale communities north of Denver?
