CO - Angela Craig, 43, mother of 6, allegedly poisoned by cyanide in protein shake by dentist husband, Aurora, Mar 2023

Holy cow! This guy doesn't learn...now he is plotting a detective's murder???

Wow! I thought it would be a witness. How would this achieve anything even logically?! Imagine coming to terms with how this man is for his family, co-workers and friends...

I can't remember where I read or saw it, something fictional, maybe Christie, I don't know, but the person said, "After the first murder, it's just numbers." Basically saying, that after you've made that decision that killing someone will solve your problem, you don't have to cross that moral and ethical boundary again, because you've already done it before.

This is a man who coldbloodedly poisoned his wife, the mother of his six children, for nothing a no fault divorce and a sports car couldn't fix. Planning to kill a police officer after that is nothing.

MOO

10/15/24 Update: Tuesday, Craig listened as his attorney asked 18th Judicial District Judge Shay Whitaker to throw out a fourth perjury count. Court transcripts revealed that Craig attempted to persuade a fellow inmate into agreeing to a bizarre plan to coerce women to give false testimony. In exchange, Craig would give his would-be accomplice's mother free dental work & pay the man & at least two women $5,000. Judge Whitaker denied defense attorney Harvey Steinberg's request to sever the perjury count, noting that two other charges of tampering with evidence were "similar in nature & are part of a common theme or plan." She was referring to two other times Craig allegedly tried to tamper with evidence from jail. Next pretrial readiness hearing on 11/15/24 @ 8:30am.
11/15/24 Update: Next jury selection on 11/21/24 @ 8:30am & status conference hearing on 11/22/24 @ 1:30pm. And jury selection continues on 11/25/24.
11/21/24 Update: This morning, defense counsel Harvey Steinberg moved to withdraw from the case, citing a professional conflict. After a hearing, the judge allowed defense counsel to withdraw citing the Rule of Professional Conduct 1.16(b)(2) & 1.16(b)(4). The defendant declined to represent himself & the judge continued the trial over the People's objection. The case is currently scheduled for an Appearance of Counsel Hearing on 12/16/24 @ 8:30am.
11/23/24 Update: New charges have been filed. Solicitation to commit 1st degree murder & solicitation to commit perjury in the 1st degree.

The case was delayed on Nov. 21 when Denver attorney Harvey Steinberg suddenly withdrew, leaving his former client, 46-year-old James Craig, without representation on the morning his jury trial was set to begin.

Two attorneys from Arapahoe County-based LFM Defense — Lisa Fine Moses and Rob Gerald Werking — took over Craig’s case in a Monday appearance of counsel hearing, according to Eric Ross, a spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District.

Craig will next appear in court on Feb. 14 for a preliminary hearing to address new charges filed in the case, according to court records.

New trial dates have not been set and will likely be determined after Craig’s February hearing, Ross said.

Was so surprised Stefan had podcasts on this! Now it makes more sense as he was a patient of Dr Craig.
I’ve noticed no fellow members of their ward have spoken out, hoping at trail to hear much more

Denver attorney Harvey Steinberg cited two rules of professional conduct as reasons for his departure from the case: one, that his client was persisting in a course of action that he “reasonably believes is criminal or fraudulent,” and two, that his client was insisting on action he “considers repugnant or… has a fundamental disagreement (with),” according to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

The affidavit says James Craig used an office computer to research and buy "undetectable poisons," and he bought crystalline metalloid arsenic from Amazon a few weeks before his wife's death. Five days before her death, the document says, James Craig received a package at his office that was opened by an office attendant who found a biohazard sticker and a circular canister that said "potassium cyanide" on it.

At the preliminary hearing, James Craig’s attorneys argued there was no direct evidence showing that he put the fatal dose of poison in his wife’s drink and they said he had been searching online for ways to take his own life, according to the AP
