The Colorado couple’s marital strife was laid bare in Tuesday’s opening remarks. Prosecutors pointed to his relationship with a Texas orthodontist, Dr. Karin Cain, as the motivation for the murder. Cain has not returned Fox News Digital’s requests for comment. The defense said the 47-year-old husband had extramarital affairs throughout the couple’s marriage.

“Karin Cain was just like the others. This wasn’t some new obsession,” Whitham said.

Along with a series of affairs, Craig also allegedly used the website Seeking.com, advertising himself as “Jim and Waffles” and claiming a net worth of $10 million in search of “sugar babies.” 🥴

Court has been dragging this morning -- several lengthy sidebars -- perhaps over Exhibits and/or what the defense wants suppressed today such as the usage form Craig supplied for ordering "potassium cyanide powder," and use of a gmail address-- red flags for the product shipper.

I wasn't aware the Jurors could ask questions here!

@genjustlaw

James Craig Trial — ORDER VS. APPROVAL
Juror asks: What’s the difference between Exhibits 84 and 114?
Rodriguez explains:
• 84 = Customer’s order request confirmation — not yet approved.
• 114 = Final order acknowledgment — means it's approved and processed.
No follow-ups. Witness excused.

Is "Waffles" a dog?

I don't think so. From the AA, we know his email on his phone was determined as [email protected], and [email protected] was a new email he created and started using on Feb 27, 2023. This gmail was used for his incriminating Google searches, Chemical Supplier searches, Amazon purchases, and the lethal purchase of potassium cyanide powder from Midland Scientific.

It seems he used the same gmail for his dating profile user name.

Hence my question.

Dating profile/photo with a dog is a common gimmick. Curious if they have a family pet that he exploited for, to lure in the ladies.

Waffles.

Whatever, sleazy.

Well for awhile people were obsessed with Chicken and Waffles as a huge food trend.
Perhaps “ Jim “ is a synonym for “ Chicken “ ? Lol
Just kidding

If my spouse wanted Cyanide to commit suicide, I would make an appointment for both of us to see a therapist. And with their religious beliefs, why didn't JC contact the Bishop for support for his spouse?

The last thing I would do is order the poison. That makes absolutely no sense at all. Suicide is against the beliefs of the LDS church, as it is considered "murder". So, if Angela was religious, as evidenced by her recent trip to Salt Lake City, UT to do genealogy work, I find it difficult that Angela was suicidal. Wouldn't she have reached out to her sister for support? She spoke with her sister daily.

Angela had six children to care for, I believe if she was so depressed to be suicidal, she probably would have gone to a doctor for antidepressant medication. Also, Angela was upset on the video with JC, angry that he told the hospital providers that she was suicidal.

Why was James investigated?

According to the affidavit, the police were tipped off by Craig's business partner, Ryan Redfearn.

Redfearn and his wife Michelle were also friends with the couple. They were on their way to visit Angela in the hospital on March 15 when Ryan got a concerned call from one of his office managers.

She said had been contacted by another office manager, Caitlin Romero, who happened to be working late on the night of March 6, when Angela first got sick. Romero told her boss — and later investigators — that she saw Craig sitting at a computer in one of the exam rooms with the lights off, which she said was odd because he had his own office and computer.

Romero said about 30 minutes after Craig left, he texted her saying he would be receiving a personal package and she should not open it. A package arrived on March 13, and Romero saw that a different employee had already opened it. As she went to seal the package back up and put it in James' office, she looked inside and saw a bio-hazard sticker and a circular canister labeled "Potassium Cyanide."

Of course, Angela wasn't suicidal, and everything JC did was here showed consciousness of guilt-- especially the manipulation of his very own child from jail to acquire a computer and manufacture evidence to help his case!

JC is a despicable human and a killer. MOO

Just catching up. What a horrible man! I feel so sorry about about the misery & suffering Angela went thru towards the end of her life. And all the carp he put her thru during the entirety of their marriage. The damage he's done to his own children is shameful.

It infuriates me that Some religions insist that staying married and working it out is more important than a spouse's health and well-being. Its disgusting that abuse of any kind should be tolerated and forgiven instead of gentle and loving care and guidance being provided to victims.

I too agree that religions should not insist on staying married and working it out. I will say that if the LDS bishop is decent they no longer say to stay. I have been divorced twice and my bishop didn't make me stay or even ask me to work it out when they saw how mentally abusive my ex was.

The LDS church no longer views suicide as murder; however, they also do not discourage divorce in cases like this. I agree with you completely that he should have gone to his bishop if she was suicidal and they would have helped to pay for therapy.
