He may have Iris-mini-me’s for attorneys (or Iris wannabes?), but he’ll be paying for them.

Are they hanging in on the (very, very slim) (okay, there’s no) possibility of that $15 million civil suit payout Iris and Jane are drooling over?

Or are they going to work for free, because, you know, miscarriage of justice and all that jazz?

And just where in the heck is BM?

IMO

to change Attorney status designation. Any more info. on this request?

Dumb question- but does this mean his status change was from using a "public defender" to a self pay attorney- but he is really keeping his same attorney?
The Docket as posted has no context. Would need previous paperwork to decipher.

The Docket as posted has no context. Would need previous paperwork to decipher.

The Motion granted was previously filed and docketed:

MOTION TO CHANGE ATTORNEY STATUS DESIGNATION (D-010)

David M. Beller of Recht Kornfeld, P.C., and Jane Fisher-Byrialsen of Fisher &Byrialsen, PLLC, on behalf of Barry L. Morphew, and moves to change their status designation from “Alternate Defense Counsel” to “Privately Retained Counsel.” On today’s date, supporters of Mr. Morphew posted bond on his behalf.

As such, Mr. Morphew will exhaust all resources and pay for his representation moving forward. Should his status change in the future, Mr. Morphew will comply with the requirements of Chief Justice Directive 04-04.

Thanks @Seattle1 that is surprising. Thinking F & B are not feeling confident about that $15 million payday!

Maybe he found that money that was stolen from the safe, or somethin'

Good. Then he can give it back to the government. I wager it was unlawful pandemic money.

How ever he got it, why do i think he didn't pay proper taxes on it?

Loophole Larry. Lee, I mean.

Back when he killed her their combined assets were about $3.2 million. Since their individual assets were co-mingled, he got it all. He paid Iris about $850,000. When his case was dropped he got the $500,000 bail back. He has since done a number of shifty things to protect his assets by moving money to his daughters.

Do we know that BM actually has to pay his "private" attorneys with his own funds? Is this possibly a ploy so he avoids scrutiny for requesting a public defender?

I smell a rat.

Wait for it.

He already transferred everything out of his names... claimed indigency. Bet they'll bill him for a couple of hours, then motion for relief, claiming indigency anew. They'll say his friends and family provided his bail amount, claiming he and Lee have no money, and request continuity of representation as re-appointed public defenders.

Barry magic.

We have not heard the last of this.
