CO - BARRY ARRESTED AGAIN - Suzanne Morphew, 49, Chaffee Co, 10 May 2020 *Case dismissed w/o prejudice* *found in 2023* #119

The YouTuber named in the Court Order has quite a history. His Wikipedia page only covers it up to 2018.

I first heard of him when he was outside Brian Laundrie’s parents home with a bullhorn being extremely obnoxious for attention.

Shades of Cripple Creek and Frazee trial
I can live with not seeing Barry's face in court if it can have an ending like Frazee - what was it? LWOP+156 years??

I'll take it!

These type of grifter You-Tube investigator wannabe hacks like JRL? JLR? whatever the heck he’s called stunt/s for lack of a better word, make my blood boil.
So many of us that have been following this case for 5.5 years looking forward to watching this creep BM’s court hearings and trial but because of grifters selfishness and blatant disregard of court’s rules end up ruining everything for the rest of us/the masses who have been closely following this case who like to watch judicial proceedings. Some also like to take their own notes while watching/listening as so many things can be missed. Ughhh what an absolute brainless dolt/s who should know better. I think they do but don’t care. It’s not so much about justice for Suzanne for some of these unscrupulous YT’ers rather, imo using Suzanne’s case to get exposure for themselves/their channel for clicks and money. Horrible.

At any rate, I hadn’t heard much about BM’s current Attorney DB so decided to look him up. He’s highly rated, one of Colorado’s Top Defense Attorneys, well heeled and has won all kinds of awards. Sound familiar? After some research, personally DB appears to me to be similar to BM’s previous Atyorney IE, the male version of IE, accolades and all, the whole shebang. Just a bit younger and so likely not as much experience as IE but apparently just as sharp, and similar to IE, DB ranks at the top of the heap so to speak in the field according to write-ups and articles I read.

That said, after watching DB in action for a short time at the bond hearing, I wasn’t too impressed with him claiming that Mr. Morphew is “factually innocent!” Ummm no, he cannot possibly know that.
IMO his job is to ensure his client’s constitutional rights are protected, defend his client rigorously, try and poke holes in the state’s case, try to raise reasonable doubt etc. He can think or believe BM’s innocent all he wants, he’s entitled to think or believe whatever he wants. As if stating his client is “factually innocent” imo blunder no-no for a D Attorney to announce in open court wasn’t bad enough, DB then proceeds to get the last date BM had access to and used BAM wrong! by claiming BM last used BAM in 2018 in Indiana intimating he didn’t use it after he moved to Colorado. His own client told investigators he brought it with him from Indiana to Colorado when they moved and used it in CO, to sedate deer and cut their antlers off. Does DB think we’re all stupid and/or does he not know BM admitted that to investigators in the first case, and/or worse, was he aware of it and misleading the court?
(Rhetorical questions)

Looking a bit ahead, may the prosecution stay strong and bring their A game to go head to head with another high profile Defense Team defending the imo indefensible BM. I have much faith in the 12 JD District Attorney AK and her team, Godspeed to them throughout judicial proceedings. The BAM evidence is absolutely damning and considered with the additional mountain of other circumstantial evidence, I just cannot see a Jury not convicting BM as long as reasonable, rational, logical Jurors are seated, follows the evidence, can connect dots, and understands totality of evidence.

In the event BM decides to plea (I doubt the state will offer him one),
or offers a plea to the state, then trial and jury is moot. Personally I will be shocked if he pleads out for lesser sentence or whatever. One thing I feel fairly confident of is that BM does not want to go to prison, imo he’d likely rather be dead.
So my best guess is he’ll take his chances and hope his intelligent, aggressive DT- DB & JFB will get him off at trial aka acquitted. I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery than BM pleading out and/or being acquitted by a jury of his peers. I mean anything’s possible and as we know, Juries can be a wild card. Though we can guess which way a Jury may be leaning, no one knows for sure until the verdict is read in court. God forbid if it’s a Hung Jury/Mistrial don’t even like to think about that. Barring a plea, hoping we hear a future Jury hand down verdict that begins with a “G”(trying not to jinx it lol), followed by LWOP sentence, locked up and throw away the key so I can finally say bye, bye Barry, for good! 🤞

He didn't know it was wrong.

He knew she was dead!

Is there anyone who doesn't know that dead people can't vote?

Whydja do it, Baer? One extra vote doesn't usually swing an election.

Outfoxing yourself, Double Voter? Figure it's all part of a "look" that you're just tending to Suzanne's affairs until... she returns from... Ecuador? Gotcha covered, Suzanne. Sold your RR, sold your house, threw away your teal clothing, but I got your vote turned in. You're welcome.

Yup, if anyone was checking, he'd just guardianing like a perfectly innocent husband waiting for his beloved wife to return.

Well, except for having a girlfriend.

LOL, on point as usual @Megnut. Your writing, wit and sarcasm is bar none and much appreciated. Of course we sleuthers take these cases very seriously. Most are very serious, sad, horrific, tragic and for me, a little levity once in awhile helps ease some of the sadness.

Jumping off your post, I’ve thought for a long time, BM is as transparent/see-through as they come as you perfectly laid out in your post. As far as wife killers go, he definitely gets my vote for worse actor in the lead role of grieving husband of a “missing” wife. Dare I say, imo he puts Scott Peterson to shame which for me, says a lot. I mean sure, like BM, SP promptly sold his wife’s vehicle and their marital home while she was still “missing” but hey, at least SP publicly pretended to search for Laci, went on National TV for an interview to speak about his “missing” wife, and made an appearance at Laci’s vigil. The fact he called his mistress during his “missing” wife’s vigil and told her he was in Paris at the time, notwithstanding.
Seriously you can’t make this sh*t up. Couple of freaking lying liar losers.
Sadly, there are many others, too many to list and they all make me 🤮.

OT- love your new Avatar, precious!

I’m okay with the Webex being private. I wonder how much media coverage there will even be on this. I just hope the new prosecution team keeps it simple and lays it all out in an easy to follow package for a jury. Suzanne and her family deserve the justice that they have been denied.

Shades of Cripple Creek and Frazee trial
trial by tweet across the street.

---

What the judge should be doing is reprimanding the idiots who were streaming it.

No one should be okay with a public trial no longer being public. Are they going to move to a bigger courtroom, the current one is tiny.

Look at the Delphi trial, I'm still of the belief some of the people reporting on it were pushing false narratives of what was happening in trial......JMO.

Small courtroom, seating at a premium.

I wonder how many free seats will be available for the public. She allotted A ROW IIUC for the defendant's family... and A ROW for media...

I really don't like these trials in a vacuum--

The new media order does say:

"One member of the media will be allowed to record the proceedings with an agreement to share that video and audio with all other media outlets who request it."

Which is the same as the prior order, so presumably the media will still be able to post the video after the proceedings, like they did for the last hearing, like this,

A Colorado judge this week stopped public livestreaming in the high-profile murder case against Barry Morphew after multiple YouTubers violated state law that prohibits the recording and rebroadcasting of the court’s videos.

I really hate to see this killer grinning!! The only picture i want to see is him sobbing hysterically as he’s dragged out in handcuffs.

TOTALLY agreed. And I mean, ok, so he has a little "victory" in court. Yes, it's an adversarial process. BUT what is this whole process about? It's about murder. Of your wife. And the possibility that YOU are the murderer of your wife. Right, we all know you're insisting you're not the murderer of your wife, but this whole process is ABOUT the murder of your wife. So it's not a good look jmo to be around giddy because you in your mind have "scored some points" in this process about murder of your wife because even if you didn't murder your wife, someone did. And quite frankly, when he does this, it looks like he either 1) doesn't give a flip about his murdered wife, or 2) is so engaged in his own inner machinations as he's trying to get away with murdering his wife that he doesn't have time to mentally process how bad his giddy goofy celebratory simpering looks on camera.

Eeechh.

I'm pretty sure that photo was from several months ago when he was first back in court on the refiled charges.

Doesn't make the smile any better, just clarifying that it's not specifically about this latest decision about the media in the courtroom.

This brings to mind a recent learning that Scott Peterson hsd bought a boat prior to Laci’s disappearance, purchased out of their joint account. Do we know if Barry ever owned a boat? Did his girls enjoy kayaking or canoeing as much as camping and hunting? Hmmmm….

Much thanks on this because I'm watching the video now, and you're absolutely right. But... to me, this is even weirder.

What exactly does this person find to smile about in this situation? It's bizarre. Every time I see that beaming smile, it completely freaks me out. And since I'm not seeing the beaming smiles since (searching), it makes me wonder if he figured out how seriously bad that looked. Because jmho, it really does look that bad. I bristle every time I see it.

They Ruined It for Everybody — Judge Pulls Plug on Barry Morphew Livestream

It is true-I can understand why they shut down the Webex. I logged into any that I was able to, I’m a rule follower. There were individuals completely ignoring the court’s order and streaming the sessions. I don’t want anything to happen that helps Barry in any way. I hope the media films and releases after. I watched some really short appearances that were over in the blink of an eye. This might be one of them. I’m hoping media presses for the trial to be broadcast.

Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 why the judge isn't holding the offender(s) in contempt? That would be a good way to send a message and promote compliance.

I don't know the real reason the judge doesn't go after the offenders, but my theory is that at least one probably wouldn't care what the court did to him. He'd eat up the publicity. His wiki page and back story are wild. Jonathan Lee Riches - Wikipedia

One row for media. No electronics.

I wish she would video record hearings and the trial, even if only to release post verdict.

JMO
No but that isn’t horribly unusual and it appears there will still be a pool camera.

I know we take freedom seriously in the US and BM is due a fair trial, but it chafes my heart that this great care is taken to protect his rights when Suzanne's remains probably remain in three paper bags on a shelf somewhere in ME/LE stacks.

What about her rights? The ones she wasn't afforded. Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. The right to divorce. The right to live and move and have being. The right to guard(ian) her own money. The right to grow. The right to be human. The right to be herself. The right to breathe.

The. Right. To. Still. Be. Here.

JMO
That’s the point of the trial otherwise there would be no trial.
