CO - BARRY ARRESTED AGAIN - Suzanne Morphew, 49, Chaffee Co, 10 May 2020 *Case dismissed w/o prejudice* *found in 2023* #119

I fear the Defense will flip the script and say BM wasn't the only one in the State, in the county, in the home who had access to his BAM. He'll plead guilty to tampering, abuse of a corpse, etc, but claim he didn't kill anyone, that the victim died herself. Shameless defense if they do it. BM was the suicide-threatener. Suzanne wanted to not to exit her life but to re-start it.

But yes, I think he'd sink this low.

JMO
BM is a wicked man, I agree. I also tend to believe that if his efforts to suppress evidence fail, he may do a Brian Walshe as you suggest - the last refuge of the scoundrel. It didn't work for BW and it won't work for BM. MOO.

BM will bring his mama (with a nice letter) to the court, just like BW did, I bet. MOO

I'm sure the Court is looking forward to a nice letter... If so, we'll see how helpful it would be. SMH.

Happy New Year folks.
Did I have a memory lapse last year? I don’t recall ever hearing that Suzanne’s remains contained a bullet?

The body of the 57-year-old’s wife was found in late 2023 in a shallow grave in Saguache County, In April, 2024, the autopsy report was released, revealing the remains contained both a chemotherapy port (she was being treated for cancer), and a bullet.

Wow. Okay. Either this evidence was intentionally withheld from the public, which I understand for the investigation. Or, this is bad reporting and they are speaking about the bullet (or bullet casing, IIRC) that was in the area where her remains were found. Could or could not be connected to SM. I figured likely not. IMO

Could the Ark Valley site have been hacked and the article edited to add that? I guess I should email the news site to clarify.
ETA: Actually - I just sent an email to Jan Wondra, author of the article.

Personally I do not recall a "bullet" found.... I believe I would have put it in my notes. I do have the cancer port in my notes.

It's got to be misreporting. I will let you all know what I hear back from Ark Valley. If I do hear back.

For now, I'm going with this version:

Within the autopsy report, a forensic anthropology and forensic odontology exam was conducted to determine identification and cause of death. Aong with Morphew’s remains were found weathered and dirt covered clothing items, which are believed to be her bicycle clothes, and one “weathered bullet.” The report didn’t indicate the relation the bullet had to her remains.

Thanks - I added that to my notes.

Thank you for bringing this back again. It’s been a while since we first saw it. The translation is a bit confusing, but a few sections / sentences caught my attention. Not the least of which was GD telling the eldest daughter that SM followed him into a restroom. Puh-leeze. Yuck. Oh, and SM took the BAM herself. Double puh-leeze.

>And there was a bullet, that is, a bullet. Yes, they say it was found alive.

>He writes in that e-mail to the police and to the medical examiner, stating that what they have found in the bones indicates to him that it was not the cause of death, because that kind of anesthetic [00:06:00] drug must pass through the liver and the circulatory system to end up in the bones.

>Because some of the substances, among them the B and A and M, could possibly have been something she was given under her own power. Because there are some things that are sometimes used alone to give people relief when they have severe, excruciating pain or under general anesthesia.

>I mean, what if it turns out that this anesthetic is in her, and that fact can be established beyond doubt. As you say, it actually fits eerily well with the things they've been saying all along, that it is Barry. Yes, therefore, if it happens to be Barry, and they can present me credible evidence I believe, will I then honestly acknowledge that it is Barry. But until then, I also think it's important that the listeners know there is a marked [00:08:00] difference between what I have to do and what they have to do. I have to defend him—guilty or not guilty—and I think one hundred percent right now.
