He’s got the old type of demonstrative evidence on boards and easels… not electronic

Carrying a long bone would be much different than carrying a skull
Yes, and over open terrain is completely different than steep mountains.

Audio is poor but I think the witness sad it's possible that a coyote would carry remains as far as the skull was moved in this case.

  • #504
Is defense trying to show that a coyote moved all the remains?

  • #505
Yes. The Doc comes with baggage. From the bit I just heard I believe they will decide over the weekend if it's worthy of putting him on the stand.
Each defense witness gets better. I just love y’all reporting and commenting. Dang, I should have applied waterproof mascara.
Note to self: no mascara with fibers.

Possible but not normal for a coyote to move remains that far. This witness didn't help the defense very much in my opinion.

Just Dylan's skull which was found 1.5 miles from the rest of his remains in very steep terrain.

Specifically the skull or cranium which was found 5 miles away from first remains found.

The skull was found about 1 1/2 mile from the other few remains, the defense's position is that Dylan may have gone up there himself, been attacked by an animal and his remains spread, rather than his father killing him, dumping his remains up there and then going back later and moving the skull.

…because it had blunt force trauma

The defense has now named the culprit, the "hypothetical coyote"! Branding... ;)

OK, Got it.

Yes and Dylan went up there with no coat and running shoes. Alrighty.

  • #516
One problem with this witness is he never went to any of the recovery sites to view the terrain in person. He is basing some of his opinions from only using a topo map.

That limits his ability to judge how far a coyote would move any of Dylan's remains. JMO

Witness is only testifying to very rare and extreme examples of animal behavior.

  • #518
Hope this prosecutor can do a good cross. Well that was fast.

  • #519
The defense needs to stop asking this witness questions. The answer's he's getting don't help.

Next witness is Dr James Ha, expert witness in Zoology. Including canines.
