As I'm hoping this witness and the rest of the defense case are almost wrapping up, anyone leaning strongly one way or the other on the defendant testifying?
(I know this has been discussed, wondering if any opinions have changed based on the way the case has progressed).
I've been wondering about MR testifying as well. What do you all think?
IMO MR's goose is cooked! I feel pretty sure that if the jury voted today he would be found guilty. So here's the question. If you were in Marks shoes (God forbid I know!!) and you also felt there was very little chance of the jury coming back with a not guilty verdict, would you just let the trial run it's course and leave it at that or would you take a chance and testify hoping that you could plant some reasonable doubt in at least one of the jurors minds?

Good find. So did anyone hear why we didn’t hear from the video witness today?

I went back and listened to court from earlier this am. Bogan stated to Judge that their next witness, James Semino (sp?) A Firefighter was dispatched to Montana yesterday. Bogan stated that he "might be available" today at 3 pm, via Webex, but he would hope that he could be available tomorrow am instead. Judge asked for testimony today.
They had it all arranged, it seems. And then this afternoon...we were on mute during the discussion of what transpired. No one knows what happened? Was there any additional tweets from this afternoon?

His odds of getting a single juror to vote not guilty are better if he keeps his mouth shut and not let the prosecution tear him apart on cross. JMO.

Thanks for this info. I wasn’t able to watch today until about 2:30. Been constantly checking for tweets but don’t see any from today. I don’t think any journalists are actually in the courtroom, just viewing through WebEx or other livestream like us. JMO
I hope some reporters are in person for closing arguments. Of course I feel I get my best reporting here on WS. :)

Will we be able to watch closings? I can’t remember if openings were shown.

Spoiler alert: the beer can has DNA profile consistent with a snaggletoothed coyote / bear hybrid who we, the defense, now call to the stand, and who will confess to committing this crime.
I can’t stop chuckling at the image of this snaggletoothed coyote hybrid. Thank you for that. I may have to go back and watch Prosecution take down of buffoon Bruce Anderson again.
Glad you are here.

EBM to correct last name. Anderson, not Johnson.

They attempted to show openings but the sound system was not working well---I gave up because I couldn't understand a word of it

Hopefully they will have it more together for the closings. I am dying to hear the defense teams summary of their case.

Yes we will. For opening statements on day one they didn’t have the audio figured out yet, it was horrendous. So disappointing. I have been watching the WebEx stream from the Court site. I had to download the app WebEx Meets on my iPad but it was a simple one step process. It’s where Law and Crime and other news stations are streaming from.

I hate that we couldn’t hear the opening statements! I am almost tempted to drive 6 hours to Durango to make sure I don’t miss closing.

During the cross of Postal worker Angela Lee today the Judge said “ No more talk about Dr. Phil… I almost said Phil Donahue. Guess I’m showing my age “.
Lol I feel ya, Judge.

I think that as arrogant, controlling, or vindictive as he may be and while I don't think he is particularly insightful or self- aware, he would have to be extraordinarily foolish to take the stand - namely because of how embarrassed he would inevitably end up when faced with and questioned extensively over the photos. And that is what brought us here to begin with, per the state's theory. He would be obliterated by prosecutors.

From first thing this morning ( notice Judge not in robes)

Prosecution: Judge, the Defense has endorsed and apparently intends to call a witness named Freddy Cracium. We have objected in the past and wanted to renew our objection here. This morning in the review of Mr. Cracium’s file in our case it appears that he was a co-worker in the oilfields out in California for several months in the Summer of 2012. His testimony from what I can gather is essentially that Mr. Redwine “loved Dylan very much “. He’s never seen them interact, he’s never been out to the house in Vallecito. He’s never met Dylan and has no personal knowledge of their relationship at all. Everything he would say would be based on the hearsay of MR. We think it would be cumulative. It’s something to play upon the sympathies and prejudice of the Jury and we would object under 401, 402, 403.

Judge : Alright. We’ve already had a hearing on it and you’re still overruled.

MOO: It’s pathetic that this is the only thing Defense can dig up to speak to MR character.

Altho he is a narcistic pyscopath, he is also a weasel. He will never testify.
