TY! I've been looking at the vallecitolakechamber.com website trying to get a feel for that area & the lake. Do you remember what it was like there around this time of year? Either the facilities on or around the lake as well as the town of Bayfield? Would people or activity in the middle of the night or early in the morning in late November raise any red flags for year round residents or not so much?

While it does get very cold at night the day time temps can still be rather pleasant this time of year. Activity in the middle of the night would be cause for concern, but early in the morning might not draw much attention, as there are bound to be early risers out excercizing year round. Vallecito used to be a summer cabin/vacation type destination back when I used to visit and if irc the one little resturant in town closed up after labor day but that might have changed. I hope this helps I know that it has been a long time since I was there and many things might have changed but I am really concerned for Dylan and I hope they find him safe and sound very soon.

My son is the same age as Dylan. He's about the same height and weight, and has the same Nike shirt Dylan was wearing in one of his pictures, but in red. The story just tugs at my heart strings. I feel the mom when she says he would not just take off and not call. My son and I are close and I can't imagine he would let me suffer like that for a week if there was any way he could contact me.
Given the situation with the parents, even though it seems he doesn't have good relationship with his father, I would think a public plea from him or better yet both parents combined would be highly motivating to Dylan. No matter how angry he may be, I am sure he still loves and wants to connect with his father. The mother has made several appeals. Just don't understand the silence from the father at this point. Unless he's keeping quiet to avoid incriminating himself.

I'm with you there. I try to remind myself that we all might react differently if heaven forbid we found ourselves in this position with our kids missing. But it's hard because everyone here @ WS and in the community wants to help and it's so hard when there's so much silence. I feel so helpless for the family and I cannot imagine how his mother feels.
I'd like to think that everyone is cooperating with authorities who have all the tools they need at their disposal and at this point no news is good news.

Reporter Kevin Torres will be running a report at 5:00 on Channel 20 and more complex reports at 9:00 and 10:00 on Channel 9. He says he has talked with Dylan's brother.

Kevin Torres FB post 3 minutes ago:

"I'll have a quick report on 9news at 5 on ch. 20 then a more complex story at 9/10. I spoke with Dylan's brother. You'll hear from him later on tonight. Just sitting down to write the later stories."

I think I'll yield to you with news since you're local and I'll likely lose track of time. The website they stream on is 9news.com, is that right?

Sending prayers and strength to his brother !

This time of year the weather is hit and miss. Could be blizzarding, could be mild as it was today (upper 50's/low 60's daytime). One thing is for sure, no matter what, it DOES get cold at night!

Last time I was in that immediate area was summer before last, camping. Cell and internet service is good. Activity in the area, including the townships falls off late evening. The only early morning activity would be loggers, fisherman - in the summer you'd have the tourists out for early hiking, winter would be skiing. It's not quite remote enough for the "weirdos", if ya know what I mean.

It's definitely and area that someone would notice something off.

Lotus, you are in my head!!! lol

Yes, www.9news.com

Well I gotta say, I'm not too happy that I'm this familiar with their network! Sweet Jessica last month (she brought me to WS) and now Dylan. However they DO a pretty good job with coverage (Dylan's story needs more attention) and I'm glad I can follow from the other side of the country.

Btw- I lost my mind a while ago so I'm glad I'm in your head! :seeya: Good to know it's somewhere!

From a resort in Vallecito information page: If you just can’t leave the modern world behind, high-speed wireless internet and Direct TV are provided free of charge. Cell phone coverage is strong.

Good sleuthing.. LaborDayRN....

O/T... But... I assume you are in obstetrics? ...:baby: :baby: :baby::smile:

I cannot get his favorite song out of my head so looked up the lyrics. It is troubling really. This age is so intense with the hormones and everything. The lyrics are below.

"Blurry"

Everything's so blurry
and everyone's so fake
and everybody's empty
and everything is so messed up
pre-occupied without you
I cannot live at all
My whole world surrounds you
I stumble then I crawl

You could be my someone
you could be my scene
you know that i'll protect you
from all of the obscene
I wonder what you're doing
imagine where you are
there's oceans in between us
but that's not very far

Can you take it all away
can you take it all away
well ya shoved it in my face
this pain you gave to me
Can you take it all away
can you take it all away
well ya shoved it in my face

Everyone is changing
there's noone left that's real
to make up your own ending
and let me know just how you feel
cause I am lost without you
I cannot live at all
my whole world surrounds you
I stumble then I crawl

You could be my someone
you could be my scene
you know that i will save you
from all of the unclean
I wonder what you're doing
I wonder where you are
There's oceans in between us
but that's not very far

[Chorus]

Nobody told me what you thought
nobody told me what to say
everyone showed you where to turn
told you when to runaway
nobody told you where to hide
nobody told you what to say
everyone showed you where to turn
showed you when to runaway

[Chorus]

This pain you gave to me

You take it all
You take it all away...
This pain you gave to me
You take it all away
This pain you gave to me
Take it all away
This pain you gave to me

Thank you for adding to the local info, Thorn!

It really helps people like me who live outside the area and state!:seeya:

Is that from a new news report? Oh did I miss 9news?

I've been reading and re-reading this older one from 11/23

I'm probably overanalysing every statement but that's what's going to happen until we get something official or new reports from MSM.

Echoing what you just posted from LE, this from his mom from 11/23: "Dylan is a generational kid and tech savvy,” Redwine said. “He wouldn’t have gone off to the mountains to pitch a tent or build a fire.” ---> This adds to all things bad about the dogs tracking down to the lake, not only in the water, around the lake or mountains or water. Sounds like he wouldn't run away and hide there on his own, nor would he be willing to go camping with his dad for a bonding/guys adventure. jmo

Oh wow... I couldn't get the video awhile back... So I did not know which song it was...

Now I totally remember it... I love it.. But it is so haunting!

That was the words of the reporter; not LE (even though LE didn't seem to at all be leaning toward runaway, either)..
sorry, I didn't clarify

<snipped>

I used to love this song when I was young and moody.
Actually it was really really popular back in the day, it was the trendy song to like in junior high, maybe it's on it's second wind now for kids his age and therefore not so depressing?

There were some kids who keyed into these lyrics: "You could be my someone, you could be my scene, you know that I'll protect you from all of the obscene.. I wonder what you're doing, imagine where you are... There's oceans in between us but that's not very far." Those lyrics were the way my peers would express 12-and 13-year old crushes, so if you look at it that way it's not so dark and full of angst. But still it's a heavy song for a 13 year old. Hopefully some of his other favorite songs are brighter and reflective of a happier young man.

I am whispering this because I don't even want to think it much less type it but has anyone considered that he could have hurt himself. That song is very depressing. And it sounds like he was a child that was in his head alot. I am sure very bright and mature for his age. just wondering.
