My suspicions towards the father came way before I ever read anything that mom said. It is the father's version of events that don't add up. And the father's angry words, blaming LE for not going straight to the lake, since he told them already the fishing pole was missing. HINKY, imo.

I agree. Also - mom has him full time. The father just lost custody. That could represent a loss of control for some people, and if they feel as if they are losing control they do whatever it takes to regain it. Anything is possible and it has happened many times before. Not saying its just fathers who do this, either, lest I be accused of man bashing. In this case, it just happens to be the father whose actions are raising some questions.

I haven't heard the dad say anything....just read what someone else said he said. Was he really angry? Again, I didn't see him so can't comment.

I didn't see him say these words. They were quoted by a reporter. I will go and try to find the link and come back and post it. brb

ETA:

"I question why it has taken this long to start scouring the lake because from Day One they have known it is likely he had a fishing pole with him," Redwine, 52, said.
Information he received from the boy's friends suggests that Dylan was hitchhiking when he disappeared, Redwine said.
"It sounds to me like he's not even in the area," he said.
He said he is concerned that a stranger could have picked up the teen and abducted him.

Mark Redwine said his son is the type of kid who would go into the wild to fish or hike.
"I would describe him as being an athletic type of kid who loves being outdoors," he said.

BBM

He didn't have his son with him when he left the house from 7:30 - 11:30 am to run errands.....unless he had him locked in the trunk-JMO

*saying a quick prayer that this is not the case*

I've really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but it's getting tougher. Dylan's mom's words definitely carry some weight with me.

I'm interested in hearing what is said about the search today, hopefully we can get an idea of how comprehensive it's been and how much confidence they have about whether he is or is not in the water.

ok...ok...I give. Had no idea dad just lost custody. Totally missed that. Also missed any interview with dad. Since moms intuition trumps any evidence....then this case is pretty much over. Except fining the body of Dylan. I thought I read that a judge ordered a Thanksgiving week visit to dad with Dylan. Was it just a suggestion? Missed that, also. Sorry. :blushing:

Elaine Redwine told ABC News she was having a difficult time getting in touch with her ex-husband about their son.
"He hasn't had any contact with us. [My older son] tried to get a hold of him by texting him, and he wouldn't respond," she said. "I just find it odd that at a time like this, he would be so evasive."
Mark Redwine declined to speak to ABC News.

bbm - What do you mean by that?
She's his primary care giver and by everyone's account Dylan and his mother were genuinely close. She had sole custody and this was one of the few rare times the father actually had Dylan with him. It was part of a court ruling but I've seen nothing to indicate dad "got a court order" granting him this visit. In less than a day from arriving at his dad's house he went missing (best case scenario).
Again jmo but the mother has been extremely forthcoming at all times and is fully cooperating with LE and is throwing herself and her existence into finding her son. I can't say the same for everyone else, unfortunately.

Court order:
Dylan had been at his father's house in Vallecito, about 22 miles northeast of Durango, Colorado, for one day when he disappeared. Sixth Judicial District Judge David Dickinson had issued a court order granting his father visitation rights during the Thanksgiving holiday, sheriff's officials said. Dylan’s parents divorced in 2007.

I don't think anyone has "seen" him say much of anything, as he has not been visible in the search, has made a handful of statement to the press, and is apparently not willing to communicate with his own son about his brother's disappearance. No public pleas for his return....

I saw that, but you said "speak" so I took that literally. Sorry for the confusion.

TY. I'm not sure how exactly to read that, since mom's sole custody was recently established in September, were they still working out Holidays? I've never read that to mean dad went to petition the court for the visitation over Thanksgiving, so much as mom and dad had to attend court for normal custodial issues which would include holidays and Thanksgiving was given to dad. Perhaps they switched off and mom was to get Christmas vacation, dad would get Feb. vacation. The judge "granting" visitation for the Thanksgiving holiday doesn't really explain if dad was seeking time with Dylan or the judge assigned him this time. If anyone follows my jibber - jabber.

Don't understand why any parent with a missing child would decline to speak with a national news organization. You want to keep the story top of mind for everyone and relevant! I would speak with anyone I could connect with!
