Hi all. There was a request for me to come in and answer some questions about SAR. How can I help?

Kids wear shorts year-round where I live, and we have a winter season, albeit a short one.

Hi Sarx. Word is that items had to be brought via Mom 300+ miles away for the dogs to use. Does this mean his own stuff was all gone, do you think, or was it just washed and thus, no good?

Do you think maybe MR has everything DR needs at his home already. Perhaps DR did not have to bring anything in his backpack except a few items he wanted to have with him. Handheld game, phone, charger, a jacket. Perhaps all hygiene items and clothing were there already. When me and my youngest travel to New York we UPS our clothing and such.... so we have very little to carry. Then my family UPS's our stuff back to Colorado for us, makes it easier. Just a thought...

You know this kind of brings up a few things about custody issues, often times parents do not send clothes from one home to the other because they don't get returned so they have clothes each parent has purchases at each home.

I guess it would depend on if he packed himself or if Mom packed for him. Colorado in the fall is an odd place. One day can literally be in the Seventies and hot, the next we can have a blizzard and have a high in the low teens. You must bring clothes for any weather. We learn to dress in layers, so we can peel them off accordingly... I know when my boys pack for even a weekend, they bring a good sized tote each. That is with them packing and they forget things let me tell ya. You have your dress clothes and your ghetto clothes for relaxing and your sleep clothing...etc. I am not trying to be snarky, just a week at Dads would be more than a backpack full especially with electronics mixed in. IMHO

good point. :) I wasnt aware he was going for a week.. I dont know why I was thinking of a 'long weekend' visit. :blushing:

So happy to see sarx here :)

Suspicion is not reason enough to go shout allegations in the media. Toni Ingram is getting roasted for doing exactly that and I don't think ER deserves a free pass either. Time and place - it matters!

I agree time and place matters. My point was simply that I think she really does think he is involved. I can't imagine her suggesting it otherwise when she has a missing child!

There was a question about whether or not Dylan's scent would still be in the house if he hadn't been there since Labor Day.

If Mom had not said anything about Dad, I wonder if anyone would be leaning that way, if they are? She sure is not helping as far as his image goes.

X's most often don't. Be it male or female. jmo

We haven't closed out the possibility he has run away and we're still going door to door. We have an absence of clues. It's a mystery, that's what makes it so frustrating,’ he said.

What's that all about? It's in every article from today (11/29) ... I can't tell if that's actually from Sgt Bender from today or if these news sources just throw together quotes and information randomly to get their articles.
We have that quote in articles titled, "Colorado authorities search father's home a week after boy, 13, went missing as it's confirmed he did NOT run away." I'm lost.

Dogs alerted on 4 places on this lake, 2 dogs one handler, 1 dog another, two different days. They search and find nothing. Is there still a possability that they alerted in those areas do to wind, and it wasn't even close to that area, but could still be in the lake?

I have not seen definitively how long he was going to be there. I would think he would be out of school for the week, but not sure the extent of his visit. jmo

A statement of facts from LE would be helpful. jm

Yeah....! My hero :)

2. stated that clothes were brought from Colorado City for personal scent of Dylan. Dylan supposedly slept somewhere at Dad's home; why would sheet and/ or blanket not be used - too big? or what if he fell asleep on a leather coach or chair??

Sarx,

I will have to go get the links, but there are several 'dog' issues in this frustrating case.

First, they could apparently not use scent dogs at the start because they needed the mother to send things from his home 7 hrs away. Apparently there was nothing his Dad could offer because Dylan had only been at his home for one night before he went missing.

Can scent dogs use pillow cases or sheets or do they need shoes or clothing?

Then, the searchers sent divers into the reservoir because three separate dogs hit upon scent on top of the water in the same place. [ I guess they were cadaver dogs] After 2 days of diving, the authorities said ' the dogs were wrong.'

Now, 11 days later, they are apparently bringing dogs to the dad's house. [ am I correct?]

I think it's all thrown together, and maybe using some old quote. LE already said they don't believe he run away.

If DR slept in the house would the dog have been able to get his scent from linens/pillows/blankets, etc....if they were commonly used by someone else?
